The ScoutCast – Episode One Hundred And Three – Armband

The double Gameweek dominates episode 103 of the ScoutCast, providing a timely antidote a pitiful weekend of points scoring that saw even the great and good struggle. While your hosts hardly fit into that category, Granville and I dust ourselves down to rinse through the double Gameweek options, popping in on the Professor to get the “Rate My Team” viewpoint, before Jonty crashes the party to serve up another community themed conclusion.

This time around, Jonty brings a tale of armband woe: a Fantasy manager who misses the captain target with frustrating regularity. Whilst that manager’s luck should offer cheer, Jonty is also armed with a plethora of captain statistics that come courtesy of a former “Full Jonty” victim. Those particular revelations have me staring into the eyes of a certain Dutchman and wondering where it all went wrong.

Be captain sensible and grab this latest episode via this link or stream it via the player below.

*Apologies for the downgrade in sound balance this week – we had some technical issues which basically meant I forgot to restart the recording half way through and so had to use a lower quality recording mix. A balls up: it won’t happen again (that’s probably a complete lie – it’s bound to happen again).

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

Does anyone thing getting rid of Lampard, Silva , Benteke or Suarez is worth turning a 4pt hit into an 8pt hit.
I already have Caz and I'm using my free to get Fellaini. Can't afford Benteke to Giroud

Reasons I don't want to Benteke > Berba 1) Villa are on form + Benteke is on form 2) Fulham are playing them and Chelsea 3) Fulham's run in is awful arsenal, everton , swansea + liverpool

I know I need to get rid of Sturridge, but he's against Reading this week. Might start against a weaker side and I can't find a decent replacement too.
Berbatov is good but he is against a rejuvenated Aston Villa and away to Chelsea. Fulham is poor in away games.

Keep Sturridge or sell him(-4 and for who?)?

      I'm keeping Sturridge.

      Differential, away to Reading.

If I take a -4 for Berbatov, its already a gamble because I need him to make up the points in the DGW.
I won't want Berbatov after the DGW which requires benching him or taking another waste of a FT or hit.
Sturridge's fixtures after the DGW are much more appealing.

      Thus I'm keeping him.

Even so, I still reckon if you have him its a waste shipping him with the DGWs coming up and his fixtures. Will be more hassle in the long run by denying yourself valuable transfers. It's not like his 6.9 is eating into the team anyway.

Its similar to the RVP-Rooney situation. If you have RVP already, don't shift him. If you haven't got him don't get him. I'm aware RVP has a DGW but even before it this was the argument. Here's hoping Sturridge gets a chance after BR doshed out £12m.

I'd wildcard now if I were you as your team isn't that strong. Get 10/11 players with DGWs in 33 and 4 bench players with DGWs in 36. Then you could get 18 DGWers for free whereas if you don't wildcard you'll only get 16 for free.

    so decision time
I am on my wildcard and deliberating wether or not to get rid of michu and luis suarez to allow for dgw planning, although I have built up a huge amount a value on both (suarez at 10.8 and michu at 7.5) so really needed so help deciding which wildcard team you prefer broadly, then any more specific advice is gr8

    A

    robles ddg
    nastacisc baines dawson demel figueroa
    mata kagawa cazorla fellaini milner/maloney
van persie giroud berba (maybe mirralles)

    B

    robles fabianski
    nastacisc figeruoa dawson demel rangel
    mata kagawa cazorla fellaini michu
    rvp suarez berba

i currently have coutinho at 6.9 and hes since risen so I'd lose him, wanna check people think kags is a better shout?!

but yes if people could tell me which team generally looks better would be great, reason im considering it is michu has got some difficult fixtures when he gets back

    Clichy, Hill, Pearce (Wilson, Davies)
    Hazard, Lampard, Cazorla, Michu (Puncheon)

Is it worth doing Mert -> another Ars or Man Utd defender for a -4? If so, which?

    A) Sturridge & Evans -> Berba & Sagna - would have to play Wilson.
    or
    B) Sturridge & Wilson -> Mirallas & Sagna - would play Evans and hope that he manages at least 60 mins one of the games. Already have Osman.

No. If you think Arsenal will keep at least 1 clean sheet then I'd do the Samba -> Sagna transfer.

Wenger: Wilshere has joined normal training since Wednesday and Walcott should join in tomorrow. They are 90 per cent available for Saturday

So basically, Walcott 'should' join in training today...that doesn't sound all that good news for a start against Norwich...I'm afraid I won't be getting Walcott for a 4 point hit, too risky
