No thrills. Few spills. Just two men in a room talking about Fantasy Football.

Granville and I handed Jonty and the “Professor” an extended pre-season and rolled the ScoutCast back to its rawest form. Just myself and the Mancunian sharing our thoughts after a summer break and looking forward to another Fantasy campaign.

We talk double Gameweek assets, I roll out the van Persie duvet, Granville reveals more than he should about his team lineup and, around all that, we assess the early bandwagons and preview the weekend fixtures.

Forty-five minutes of two blokes talking about the stuff that’s rattling around in most of our heads right now.

    Which is the better combo for the first two gwks?

    A) Coutinho + Giroud

    B) Silva + Sturridge

      Trying to work out something similar (see below). I have concerns over Sturridge's fitness. Silva is a safe way into City, but I'm not convinced he'll be in the points yet.

    Very little mention of Brunt. Alternative to Anelka? Nailed on, goal/assist threat. He's 28 (peak).

    Poor season last but well prices at 5.5!

    From BBC:

    Chelsea are the best starters in Premier League history, picking up an average of 2.10 points from their first game.
    Manchester United are nearly as good, averaging 2.05.
    Arsenal are third best, with 42 points from their 21 games.
    Liverpool fans start the season with optimism, averaging 1.76 points from their first game.
    Others: West Ham 1.47, Blackburn 1.44, Newcastle 1.42, Man City 1.31, Aston Villa 1.24
    Spurs and Everton are both notoriously slow starters, each averaging only 1.2 points from their opening games

    Very punty on Negredo but I'm dreaming of a repeat of the in/famous Aguero against Swansea situation. Personally not a huge fan of Dzeko and Negredo could be differential/better over first 4 GWs.

          I would personally be a bit worried over not having ManCity attacking coverage and having to take a hit too many, which might be Benteke. I might be wrong though.. In your position I would consider Benteke -> Sturridge and Cou -> Silva.

          I don't see the point in going with Benteke, personally. Will most likely cause you hassle for not much upside potential. I'd rather free up some cash with Dzeko or Lukaku to make way for RVP in GW4.

    Hello and welcome to a new season, ladies and gents.

    To kick off my first forum post of the year, and to vindicate myself from all my future RMT's, I'll give a short and admittedly random heads-up on things I've noticed stalking a couple of forums

    Crystal Palace: It's pretty split whether or not Williams will play against TOT. Practically everyone puts Ward and Gabbidon in the starting lineup. And people write stuff like this. "The thought of Ramage and Gabbidon against prem strikers scares the shit out of me, it's going to be a free for all", which should make Soldado a good man.

    ManU: Most people have Zaha in the starting lineup (and Welbeck). A lot also expect Fabio to be starting RB, instead of Jones.

    Fulham: People seem to be really negative as to the expected performances of their team. "I think we're in for a rough start to the season". "Sunderland will be this year's QPR. A manager with something to prove trying to build a whole new squad in one transfer window, and backfiring spectacularly.". "We have no spark. I would love to be proven wrong". Might be best to avoid?

    Aston Villa: Most people seem to be expecting El Ahmadi to start in place of Sylla, rather than Tonev earning a start.

    Hull: Most people seem to think Koren will _not_ start_, due to the new signings. He is definitely not nailed on, at least.

    Chelsea: Practically everyone has Terry and Oscar in the starting lineup. Most have Lukaku. Few have Lampard.

        Think that's wise. It's not like the upside of the 5.0 is THAT big anyway (unless you hit an Adam, I guess), so better to get a secure starter, especially one playing in the hole.

          I think Tonev's potential is bigger than Kim's, purely because he plays with Benteke. But starting is the first hurdle.

          Appreciate the info. Lambert's tone sounded so upbeat about him but the real fans of a club are better at tuning out the hyperbole than me 🙂

    Hi guys
    First post this season. Putting the final touches to my team. I tried to take one punt (Lukaku) and play it very safe otherwise. Time will come to be more aggressive when we know final transfers and see how the teams are playing. So here we go. Please let me know if you think I have blatant issues in there. I think it is pretty standard.
