Everton’s home clash with Newcastle this evening draws the line under another Gameweek. Roberto Martinez’ men look to extend the last unbeaten record in the Premier League and clinch a victory that would take them into fourth spot, while the Magpies are desperate to bounce back from last weekend’s home defeat at the hands of Hull:

The team news is in and is as follows…

Roberto Martinez hands James McCarthy and Romelu Lukaku their first starts since joining up on Merseyside on transfer deadline day. Steven Naismith and Nikica Jelavic are the men to make way – McCarthy will slot in alongside Gareth Barry and Ross Barkley in the central midfield three, while Leon Osman – who has recovered from a groin problem – is expected to move to the flank.

For the visitors, Alan Pardew makes a couple of alterations from the side that lost to the Tigers, Yohan Cabaye is on the bench after sustaining a groin problem last time out, while Papiss Cisse makes way for Yoan Gouffran up top.

    How does this sound?

    Moses and Soldado to Amalfitano/Barkley and Suarez (-4) ?

    Rodgers wants Liverpool to paly 3-4-1-2 it seems, which doesn't look good for Moses. As for Soldado, he's been disappointing. The only downside is that I'll have a pretty low midfield of Brady, Amalfitano/Barkley and JWP. Though I'd have RVP, Giroud and Suarez up-top.

    Thoughts? Amalfitano's fixtures don't look very good, but he looked good against United..

    Last time as i'm atop the page 🙂
    This is gonna be lost amongst the shouting but i thought i'd atleast say it before i go to sleep
    Barfa was a tactical sub. The commentators said that their contact in the dugout said so. Barfa does not defend and newcastle were tryin to prevent an embarrassin scoreline so they took him off. He';ll play next week.
    Yanga Mbiwa had the worst game i've ever seen a CB have. The entire first half was bossed by lukaku cause of him and all the goals were his fault(even the barkley one partly). The second half seems to have been forgotten by everyone!! He's a gr8 option but not at the expense of Sturridge, giroud, Suarez, Rooney like i've seen mentioned on here. He'll score goals but so will others. tonight just convinced me that i gotta do mirallas to barkley and play coleman every game

    Sorry for reposting. HBA to Brady or Barkley? As I have Mirallas I'm not to keen on two Everton midfielders away to City, but Brady has this stupid little op coming up...

      In same position. I think HBA out because of slight injury concern compared to Mirallas. Brady not so bad - 3 out next 6 games for a 5.2m player look half decent. Main thing is get him in for Villa after which he can rest and also maybe sit out the EVE and TOT away. Would free up funds for Suarez later?
