Suspensions

The Suspension Tightrope – Galling

A couple of Frenchman are set for a short stint on the sidelines after falling foul of the referee’s wrath over the weekend’s fixtures. Mathieu Debuchy and Mathieu Flamini received their fifth yellow cards of the campaign, meaning both are set to serve a one-match suspension in Gameweek 12:

Debuchy’s caution in Newcastle’s 1-0 win at White Hart Lane will force him out of the upcoming home game against Norwich as Alan Pardew’s side go in search of a third successive clean sheet. The right-back’s absence is a real blow to the Tyneside team – he has played every minute of the season so far, though the versatile Mapou Yanga-Mbiwa could deputise, allowing fit-again Fabricio Coloccini the chance to slot in alongside Mike Williamson in the heart of the backline.

Flamini has certainly show a flair for racking up the cards since returning to the Emirates this summer. The holding midfielder has received five cautions in just 511 minutes’ game time – his absence for the upcoming visit of Southampton should see Aaron Ramsey shift back into the double-pivot alongside Mikel Arteta, after the Welshman was moved to the right flank once again away to United yesterday.

The Suspension Tightrope welcomed a number of new faces in the Gameweek gone by. West Brom duo Jonas Olsson and Claudio Yacob, Hull’s defensive rock Curtis Davies, Fulham’s Scott Parker, Chelsea right-back Branislav Ivanovic and Norwich’s Michael Turner all climbed aboard on Saturday. Sunday’s matches saw Arsenal’s Jack Wilshere, Spurs centre-half Michael Dawson, City’s Javi Garcia, United utility man Phil Jones, Stoke centre-half Robert Huth, Swansea pair Chico and Angel Rangel and Newcastle midfielder Moussa Sissoko also earn their fourth bookings of the season.

Only four clubs – Liverpool, Cardiff, Palace and Southampton – are not represented in the updated widget on your sidebar, which now heaves under the weight of 23 players.

In terms of ongoing suspensions, Sunderland pair Andreas Dossena and Lee Cattermole will sit out the second of a three-match ban in the upcoming round of matches– both will be available for the Gameweek 14 visit of Chelsea. Swansea stopper Michel Vorm makes a return after serving a one-match ban in Sunday’s 3-3 draw with Stoke.

Id go Aguero I think he could do ok vs the high line, especially if Silva is back. But I see your dilemma, Ozil would be a nice differ for sure.

Not with that high line, biggest reason they are getting CS is LLoris and the fact that they are keeping the ball in the attack so that the other team cant have a go. I think big teams will always find a way past it.

On balance, I think there is more chance of Arsenal going mad vs Southampton than City against Spurs. Both might be tight games, but the greater chance sits with Arsenal for me.

Right, I was a good boy and saved my transfer to have 2FT for international week.

Now comes the difficult choice of what to do, and I'm quite happy to have a little reshuffle and take a hit for the first time since my WC back between GW5 & 6.

    Boruc | Davis
    Baines | Terry | Chico | Clyne | Burner
    Ozil | Michu | Ramsey | Barkley | Ravel
    Suarez | Aguero | Lukaku

I'm hoping that Walcott will come back in, and fill that problem position for Arsenal. But then I'm looking at the reemergence of RVP and wondering whether to go that route too for the amazing big three strikers.

    Possibles:
Ozil, Michu, Lukaku --> Sess, Snoddy, RVP
    Ozil, Michu --> Hazard, Walcott

So many variables to play with....

    Any opinions gladly received.

Think I'll wait till after internationals but Mert looks the ideal replacement for Kolarov

Looks to be the best option in the Arsenal defence BAP wise. i have to say though, a few of Sagna's crosses yesterday were superb, they just needed someone to touch them in.

ok been serious for a change, can someone explain this TotalFpl website and how it works as im far to lazy to find out. when the progress bar gets to 100% does that mean their price will rise? can prices rise for players every day or is there a set time?

    Wes Brown

Quality defender, such a shame to see half his career robbed of him by injuries.

Sunderland have yet to concede a goal this season whilst he's been on the pitch

    Morning guys.

Lukaku to Remy good for a 2 week punt?
or should I just go straight to Rooney?

Also, Hazard vs Sessegnon? Underlying stats are both good but I like Sess.
With the extra money I can keep Ivanovic for a while and avoid hits.

Remy has a date with her majesty's court service on the 21st, just get Rooney imo.

Sess isn't a bad option for the next couple of GW's

I really don't think it will affect his performance tbh. UInless well, you know, he's jailed.

Yeah I'll follow my guts and go with Sess. Always fun having him

He was in consideration as well. His stats is really good.

Any my team name is Joga BONYto afterall. But the fixture isn't really good after the fulham game.

was thinking Remy NOR WBA -> Bony NEW HUL -> Rooney.
if Bony hits form because I doubt he will do anything at City.

Why only 2 GW? Rémy seems to score against anybody. And why owuldn't he. Luka, on the other hand, managed massive 0 shots in last two matches. I'm really worried as a Lukaku owner.

Lukaku is definitely out really. Only to who. It was between Remy or Rooney.

Only 2 GW is the original plan. I mean if he keeps it up and score like crazy I'll keep him. Especially if Rooney suddenly run out of steam.
