Suspensions

The Suspension Tightrope – Galling

A couple of Frenchman are set for a short stint on the sidelines after falling foul of the referee’s wrath over the weekend’s fixtures. Mathieu Debuchy and Mathieu Flamini received their fifth yellow cards of the campaign, meaning both are set to serve a one-match suspension in Gameweek 12:

Debuchy’s caution in Newcastle’s 1-0 win at White Hart Lane will force him out of the upcoming home game against Norwich as Alan Pardew’s side go in search of a third successive clean sheet. The right-back’s absence is a real blow to the Tyneside team – he has played every minute of the season so far, though the versatile Mapou Yanga-Mbiwa could deputise, allowing fit-again Fabricio Coloccini the chance to slot in alongside Mike Williamson in the heart of the backline.

Flamini has certainly show a flair for racking up the cards since returning to the Emirates this summer. The holding midfielder has received five cautions in just 511 minutes’ game time – his absence for the upcoming visit of Southampton should see Aaron Ramsey shift back into the double-pivot alongside Mikel Arteta, after the Welshman was moved to the right flank once again away to United yesterday.

The Suspension Tightrope welcomed a number of new faces in the Gameweek gone by. West Brom duo Jonas Olsson and Claudio Yacob, Hull’s defensive rock Curtis Davies, Fulham’s Scott Parker, Chelsea right-back Branislav Ivanovic and Norwich’s Michael Turner all climbed aboard on Saturday. Sunday’s matches saw Arsenal’s Jack Wilshere, Spurs centre-half Michael Dawson, City’s Javi Garcia, United utility man Phil Jones, Stoke centre-half Robert Huth, Swansea pair Chico and Angel Rangel and Newcastle midfielder Moussa Sissoko also earn their fourth bookings of the season.

Only four clubs – Liverpool, Cardiff, Palace and Southampton – are not represented in the updated widget on your sidebar, which now heaves under the weight of 23 players.

In terms of ongoing suspensions, Sunderland pair Andreas Dossena and Lee Cattermole will sit out the second of a three-match ban in the upcoming round of matches– both will be available for the Gameweek 14 visit of Chelsea. Swansea stopper Michel Vorm makes a return after serving a one-match ban in Sunday’s 3-3 draw with Stoke.

Is it worth a hit to do Sturridge -> Rooney or Remy?

Other strikers are Suarez and Aguero.

Seen lots of talk about united formation and how to accomodate Kagawa. What I havent seen mentioned is that they are in the exact same formation as Liverpool - they have Cout, Sturridge, Suarez whom are similar to Kagawa, Roon, RVP. United should try the 5 at the back system like this:

    DDG

    Vidic Evans Jones
    Valencia Evra
    Carrick Fellaini
    Kagawa
    Roon RVP

We didnt play the 5312 formation with Coutinho back against Fulham.

That formation was played when Coutinho was out injured. Also we werent able to manage a single clean sheet when we played that and as soon as we went back to our 433 we had a cleanie, I don't think that was a coincidence.

Not saying it cant work for united, just think it isn't the best for Liverpool and I think we did it more because we have 4 solid CB's who all need game time.

    If you owned this lot

    Migs, Davies

    Terry, Clyne, Williams, Fonte, Chester

    Hazard, Silva, Ramsey, Januzaj, Amaltifano,

    Suarez, Aguero, Sturrige

Which of these transfers would you do this week?

Sturridge to Rooney ( needs to be today before the price changes) or Remy

    Fonte to Mertesacker

    Silva to Walcott

or any better ideas out there. Thanks

Currently 40kish and thinking of going Ozi>Walcott Sturridge>Rooney. Am I just trying to fill up all my funds though? I can see Walcott being benched considering the amount of midfield options Arsenal have as well as Wenger wanting to keep Giroud in and around the team

    http://i.imgur.com/u9gn94m.png

Any advice please anyone? Otherwise I'll simply go Sturridge>Remy however I believe if you look at Rooneys history he has one good year/one bad year and this is a good year. Sounds simplistic but it's true.

It's not true. Rooney has always been a machine, but he's a confidence player and needs to play in his favourite position (or thereabouts). He has that this season.

It's Mignolet + Lewis now. I'd like to downgrade someone to fund the moves to get Rooney & Hazard.

So.. Mignolet -> Myhill / Marshall seems to be a good downgrade for me.

Options are Williams -> Baker. I'm not sure about this one.

Mignolet has some decent fixtures coming up and there's hope that 'Pool will get a few more cleansheets now that Agger is back. It sounds like a waste of a FT to move him. Baker isn't really nailed on, I think he's only playing due to injuries to other players? Maybe I am wrong. I do recall him starting GW1.

Is it too soon to replace Ozil with Walcott ?
Apparantly Walcott back in training and should be up to speed by the time the next gameweek comes around.
Im not sold on Ozil who is starting to look tired , and is less of an influence with Cazora back. He will get points but he very expensive

I think this will wait for the Winter WC for me...too sideways of a transfer and I have other more pressing issues in my team. Would also wait a week or two to see how Walcott fits in. I'd be surprised if he walks into the starting line-up & given his injury record I'd be worried about re-aggravating his injury. No rush.

    Vorm - Boruc

Clyne Williams Terry - Rat Chester

Hazard Ravel Ramsey Arnatovic - Silva

    Suarez Benteke Aguero

    --------------------------------------------------------------
    Should I do...

    A Silva -> Sessenon
    B Arnau -> Cabaye/Sissoko
    C Vorm -> Krul
    D Another Option

Give them a shout by phone and tell them that, they might sell you a pair for a really shitty price but.....how bad.
I went to The Lane a few years back for United 4 Spurs 2- John O shea ended up in goal, Ronaldo scored 2 or 3 and was my skipper - I was in a shitty bar watching it on SKY cos I couldnt get tickets, I was offered 1 but couldnt leave my bird outside on her todd.
GET IT SORTED BEFORE YOU GO!

Cheers, ill try that! My gf was very good to book flights for me with the intention of also buying tickets for the game but when she said she hadn't got them yet. I knew it was trouble! Im gonna move mountains to get to that game. Last chance for a long time (moving to oz)so would love it.

Thanks for the Celtic tour idea, at least i know they do have tickets as long they havent sold out!

someone told me before afew pages back that he can see so many problems with my team that needs alot of fixing, but failed to tell me what.. which was sort of annoying. is there anything?

Who would you favor over the next 6 games, AstonV or Newcastle? It has to be Newcastle right? So why is Vlaar getting all the attention instead of Yanga-Mwbia?

I'd back Villa for attacking returns, Newcastle for defensive.

Possibly because there's a high chance Yanga will be dropped for Coloccini and/or Saylor.
