Not often acclaimed for his sage-like wisdom, Granville is enjoying his season in the sun and is firing advice, sympathy and jibes my way, in equal measure. With little to lose, I’ve even resorted to taking his guidance on board. After spending points on transfers on the Mancunian’s recommendation, I’m looking on my squad with optimistic eyes, although Granville is far from convinced that I made the “greatest hits”.

After raining on my revival parade, Granville joins me to talk Suarez, Oscar vs Hazard and Jim Bowen before we roll out the podcast regulars – “All Aboard”, the weekend preview and the usual dalliance with the ScoutCast team.

    Football Joke #2

    Fast forward to 2006 - it is just before Scotland v Brazil at the next World Cup Group game. Ronaldo goes into the Brazilian changing room to find all his teammates looking a bit glum.

    "What's up?" he asks.
    "Well, we're having trouble getting motivated for this game. We know it's important but it's only Scotland. They're sh*te we can't be bothered".

    Ronaldo looks at them and says "Well, I reckon I can beat these by myself, you lads go down the pub."

    So Ronaldo goes out to play Scotland by himself and the rest of the Brazilian team go off for a few jars.

    After a few pints they wonder how the game is going, so they get the landlord to put the teletext on. A big cheer goes up as the screen reads "Brazil 1 - Scotland 0 (Ronaldo 10minutes)". He is beating Scotland all by himself!

    Anyway, a few more pints later and the game is forgotten until someone remembers "It must be full time now, let's see how he got on". They put the teletext on.

    "Result from the Stadium "Brazil 1 (Ronaldo 10 minutes) - Scotland 1 (Angus 89 minutes)".

    They can't believe it, he has single handedly got a draw against Scotland!! They rush back to the Stadium to congratulate him.
    They find him in the dressing room, still in his gear, sat with his head in his hands.

    He refuses to look at them. "I've let you down, I've let you down."

    "Don't be daft, you got a draw against Scotland, all by yourself. And they only scored at the very, very end!"

    "No, No, I have, I've let you down... I got sent off after 12 minutes"

      Remy is the flair pick. Suarez the safe pick. Personally I think Aguero is the best bet. City have scored in every home game for 50+ matches now.

    Best def for 5.5m replacement for Wilson?
    A: mert
    B: nasty

    Already have vidic/Baines/Dawson/burner....,so is getting a 5.5m def too much money on def as I already have 3 big hitters but Dawson/burner have really tough games in the next two gw's...so
    C: rather buy a mid price def as I have 3 big hitters in def already...I.e. Olson from Norwich?
    D: buy a big hitter for long term and offload either vidic or Dawson in next few game weeks

      Merts fixtures get very tough after the next 3, but the next three are mint. You'll be looking to ditch him soon enough.

      Burner rotates well with Baines in December but I supose you don't really bench Baines.

        +1 Thats crazy to think of taking such a hit, do one or maybe 2 of those transfers and stick the rest in your watch list you never know they might not perform as good as you think they will and you will be counting your lucky stars you didnt take that -12 😉

    Morning all

    So I decided to pull the trigger and get rid of zaba... and also barkley as well!

    So i did

    zaba -> McAuley
    Barkley -> Sess

    was a bit worried about too much WBA but they have some great fixtures coming up so could well be worth the risk.

    Left with:

    Terry - Evra - McAuley (Chester - Turner)
    Oscar - Janu - Sess - Ramsey (JWP)

    Yeah, just fed up of seeing Barkley in my team. Zabaleta and Lukakau dropping fast as well. Might just bring in Hazard right enough and stick the (c) on him. Cheers guys

          the bookies say soton have the lowest chance of a CS this week.,. i'm gettin Rosenior in for Toure so i dont have to play Clyne. Cardiff or Tottenham could stage an upset and get a CS but realistically i'd say neither will. maybe go for attackin threat instead? Dawson offers none.. check key passes etc between burner and clyne

          Sorry for the late reply. I was off this yesterday. I actually don't think Cardiff will get a hiding at all. I like to put all my eggs in one basket though and not have my players face each other. I prefer the potential of maximum points rather than guaranteeing limiting your points by playing players against each other

        Hmmm... food for thought. Although I've been mighty pissed off with Mirallas and his sub 60 minutes appearances since I got him in. The idea with Ramires is of course that he gets the minutes and he gives me decent-ish Chelsea cover.

            What are Aguero owners doing after the next two game weeks? They have two home games next, Tottenham and then Swansea. And then they have; wba, sot, ARS, ful, LIV. Not exactly good fixtures for a team who's away record had been awful this season. I'm tempted to take him out after the Swansea game.

                It's just the three away matches and two hard-ish home games. Yeah the away games are pretty easy, but it's just their away form. I might have to go for Benteke too!
