Captain Sensible – Gameweek 16

We roll out the next instalment of our weekly article for Members this evening, offering an in-depth statistical analysis of the main captaincy contenders for the set of fixtures ahead. This week, more than most, getting the armband call correct looks crucial – given that all of our featured five have acquired at least 12% of the votes cast in the Gameweek 16 Captain Poll, opinion looks split right across the board. Time to delve into the data, then…

true, I would probably still take the deal, but only risk is there are quite a few matches over xmas and you wouldn't want to miss out on too many points.

How do you go about playing a draft league? Do you put the legwork in yourself or use a site?

I have 1 FT. my only immediate problem is Clyne. If he doesn't play i would have to play Koscielny or Gabbidon and i don't want to do that.

If there is still no confirmation on whether he is out before the game should i risk it or transfer him out for Chester/Burner?

Save transfer, you'll want to save wherever possible over the next few weeks in my opinion. Clyne with Koscielny first sub is fine if it means you can stack a transfer.

Disagree! Napoli and Juventus were ridiculously unlucky. Aside from Madrid Barca and Bayern I think a lot of the European clubs in the CL are on a similar keel whether they be from Germany, Italy, France or England

Yes the pitch last night played a factor. I think the Juvetus team is pretty good and would give all of the English teams a run for their money. You cant hit out with a sweeping statement like Seria A is boring because the top two last year were unluckily put out of the CL

on the other side Milan were very lucky. They should never have had the penalty in injury time at the Arena, and then they spent 70 minutes wasting time and hoping for the best at the San Siro. It worked but it was very lucky

a real shame, think we could've had a chance against any team in the next round over 2 legs.

Will just have to do well in Europa now in order to better our co-efficient so we get a better group next year! 3 groups of death in a row is pretty unlucky! Madrid, Madrid and then Barca

    My lineup this week:

    Howard

    McAuley Lovren Jagielka

    Ozil Hazard(vc) Ramsey Ravel

    Lukaku(c) Aguero Suarez

On the bench: 4.0, Shaw, Amalfitano, Gabbidon

0FT, 1.4ITB, seems no room for improvement for now.

Thought there would be more mention of Kevin Mirallas... anyone reckon he's a good punt for non-Lukaku teams?

If I look from over the last 9 GW's he's actually only 9 points behind Romelu... is £1.2 cheaper and hopefully is "due" a goal (although I hate using that phrase to justify a transfer... usually hints at hope rather than logic πŸ™‚

    GW7 - 13 Lukaku points = 48
    GW7 - 13 Mirallas points = 39

Moyes was dumb enough not to pursue Strootman before he joined Roma would have made a hell of a difference but now I feel its a lost cause...United right now has problem in 2 areas Left Wing (Young is really bad and Nani also not performing) and a Centre Mid to accompany Carrick..if rumours are to be believed I would love to see United get Reus (even if they ask Kagawa in exchange because he is not getting chances) or if we can't get Reus then someone good! for a mid I would love to see Cabaye come in he would fit in perfect even Koke is good!

I don't think Chelsea have a recall clause.
Arsenal have Pod coming back, maybe an extra striker would help too.
Utd probably need two mids and a flexible top defender.
Tottenham need their wingers to stay on the wing and Soldado to stay in the box for a few games, then see what they need.

He is an option if you play with two up front (Suarez and Aguero)...my bro has done it all season...Last week his third spot was Chamakh and this week i just know it will be Deulofeu...He's currently about 800th overall btw.

The reason for that is because they spend their younger life playing hard to get, enjoying the power by teasing men.

Then when they get all wrinkly & saggy, they suddenly arent desired anymore...

So then they start to need sex to feel wanted again.

          So they do.

decided to go with Rooney © this game week too.

It's a bit of a gamble but i think the risks are limited with both Aguero and Suarez facing unfavourable opposition.

It's the Lukaku/Hazard captainers that i am most worried about.

captain choices will so diversed this GW IMO. Those with Haz and Lukaku will most probably go for one of them. Also those with SAR front line won't go for one obvious choice, as Rooney is playing against a weak team, Suarez is on fire and Aguero was rested and is playing at home, where he has been doing great so far...

Want a crazy Captain idea for this week: I'm going with Ivanovic. Chelski are nearly guaranteed a CS, and I think he's "due".

Yes, I hate the word due, too, but I have a decent lead in my ML and I think the CS is similar to a forward being guaranteed to score a goal so I'm doing it.
