Dugout Discussion

The Dugout Discussion – Saturday

As Luis Suarez continues to make football look easy, rendering Fantasy football a simple game in the process, we tot up another ridiculous points haul whilst turning attention to the day’s three o’clock kick-offs.

Six matches follow shortly, including Man United’s attempt to avoid the unthinkable – three consecutive home league defeats. They face shot-shy West Ham at Old Trafford, while the not so shot-shy City take a trip to take on Fulham at the Cottage, without the goal power of Sergio Aguero.

Stoke and Sunderland host Villa and Norwich respectively, while Palace look to continue their recent revival with a Selhurst Park clash with Newcastle. Managerless West Brom round things off as they take on Hull City at the Hawthorns.

Look to our Twitter feed for all the teamsheet news from these encounters, while our Dugout Discussion chatroom remains ajar for those partial to some real-time reaction.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

The thing with rooney is assists are worth 1 less than a goal for him and other strikers so its no big deal.

And hes a baps magnet even when he fails to score a goal.

So he can play as deep as he likes.

Newcastle won 6 of the last 8 yet their ownership is really low?? I've got Debuchy 4% and Sissoko 1.6%. Even Cabaye is only picked by 7.6%. Notice not a single Newcastle player in scouts pick also. The form says they warrant coverage, no?

Good point. I guess they're always a little bit unpredictable, which might be putting people off. I'm thinking about Cabaye, but I'd rather have Ramsey and there isn't another mid priced spot in my midifield. I imagine it's the same for a lot of others. A lot of people going for Krul it seems though.

I left coutinho in to surprise me, but I'll be waiting forever. I don't think it's hard to do well. Just have Hazard and Yaya. Everyone knew that a month ago, whether you want to be stubborn.

Like last season the players who did well at the start carried on doing well. Michu has not come good, Bony neither. At least sterling is providing some difference. It is boring having the same players perform. Remy has dropped off too.

I'm sure people will be sat tonight with this scenario: Mignolet or GJohnson out?

Mignolet has high ownership and is therefore more likely to drop in price. However, taking Johnson out instead of Mignolet gives you more options. For instance, I could take Johnson out for Arsenal coverage. This would give me Liverpool, Everton, Man United AND Arsenal defensive coverage to chose from. However, taking Mignolet out limits my options somewhat, Krul being the obvious choice - but it would mean no Arsenal defenders. Surely Arsenal defence is a must considering the fixtures to come?

Or just do both in two weeks, Liverpool aren't really keeping clean sheets.

But overall the defender change is a better one. Mignolet at least has save points. And Mertesacker could be a good choice 🙂

13.7m for a defender and midfielder, I'm thinking Cabaye and Jagielka, thoughts?

Currently got Moxey, Clyne, Riether, Collins and Lallana, Hazard, Ramsey, Ravel.

Nasri not close to scoring a goal today. Silva came close twice. Silva has definitely been getting more involved in front of the net this season.

Yaya becoming so hard to ignore. Its a shame I didn't get him when he was cheap. He won't stop scoring it seems and with PKs in his locker til aguero is back, non owners will be holding their breath every City game
