Suspensions

The Suspension Tightrope – First

For the second week in succession, Jon Walters rebuilt his spot-kick reputation by firing Stoke’s equaliser in a 1-1 draw at Norwich. Just four minutes after scoring his fourth league goal of the season, however, the Republic of Ireland international blotted his copybook after seeing red for a challenge on the Canaries’ Alex Tettey in Saturday afternoon’s Carrow Road stalemate:

The dismissal – incidentally the first of his career – means Walters is set to miss the next three Gameweeks, as Mark Hughes’ side go head-to-head against West Ham, Villa and Hull. After the match, the Potters boss conceded he will reluctantly accept the ban:

“There is contact but the ball is bouncing and both players have got their feet high. I think there was an intention to win the ball by both players and unfortunately it’s been nicked away from Jon and he’s caught him on the follow-through, which he’s acknowledged. We are looking at Jon missing three games for that and I think it was one of those challenges which is just a matter of millimetres whether contact is made.”

Walters joins team-mate Charlie Adam on the sidelines, then; the Scot will miss the next two after earning a retrospective three-match ban from the FA last week.

According to reports in the local press, Tottenham are set to appeal the red card handed out to Younes Kaboul in Saturday’s defeat at Chelsea. If successful, the centre-half will be available for this weekend’s north London derby against Arsenal at White Hart Lane – the outcome is due later in the week.

Swansea’s Chico Flores is set to serve a one-match ban against West Brom this weekend, whilst Nicklas Anelka has until Thursday to appeal the five-match ban dished out for his quenelle gesture back in December. In the meantime, the forward has been suspended by the Baggies until the situation is resolved.

In this week’s Suspension Tightrope, we have a couple of new additions edging closer towards a potential ban. Arsenal’s Mathieu Flamini and Southampton’s Morgan Schneiderlin both earned their eighth cautions of the campaign – two more yellows prior to Gameweek 34 and they’ll be looking at time on the sidelines.

as I can't decide for 2 out of AJ, Nolan and Nasri, I think I will go with Nolan + AJ for GW30 and DGW31 and then ditch Nolan to Nasri, as the Frenchman will have 2 other DGWs to come.

I know it is a long-distance planning, but does it sound like a decent plan?

alright all but settled on this for my draft thanks to suggestions from peeps on here..much love

    Mannone - Davis
    Ward - Chester - Baines - Ivan - Evra
    Sterling - Nolan - Yaya - Haz - Ki
    Suarez - Aguero - Studge

will lose 0.1m on Ade but this draft leaves me that leftover so I'll be exact evens to get the moves I want for this weekend done after the Barca match

    Then WC next week.

    How's that sound?

Most of my WC drafts are for exact cash so an ade fall and aguero rise would screw them up. Plus I fancy kun to do well this week

I've got 6.3 to spend on a defender so I basically have 3 options

        a) Azpi to Baines this week and sell Shaw to a City defender next week (City have less CS than United btw and worse fixtures)

        b) Keep Azpi and wait until next week for Baines

        c) get a different defender

positional play is hard to teach unless people want to learn.

United spent years with Rio trying to get him to work on it, and Rio refused as he just said he'd make up for it with his recovery pace. The club tried to get it into his head that that pace wouldn't last and he'd need something else.

Thanks for the feedback Breadbin - my thinking was that RVP will outscore Aguero between gw30 and 32 due to the 3 home games he plays while Aguero plays 3 tricky away games. I know his attitude is an issue but with the Liverpool and City coming up he should be up for those games.

Arsenal also have terrible fixtures coming up, and United are growing in confidence. RVP, Rooney and Mata will click one of these weeks and give some team a hammering.

I agree with regards to the City love, They have performed really poorly recently. Even last week against Sunderland there was long periods in the game where the looked like they couldn't be arsed. They didn't seem to get into gear yesterday until it was too late, He's just back from another lay off but for some reason Aguero will change everything apparently. All the away games where they have had problems all season but people choosing to ignore this.

Guys sorry about all the reposts. I have finally solved it and yes I can afford to not get Aguero this week and get Lukaku

    Team ATM:

    Marshall Mannone
    Coleman Ward Burner Clyne Ivanovic
    Mata Eriksen Lallana Hazard Livermore
    Suarez Sturridge Adebayor

    I will do :

This week: Ade and Eriksen -> Lukaku and AJ this week

Next week: Lallana and Mata -> Sterling and Yaya ( -4 hit )

Week after: Marshall Coleman and possibly Lukaku -> 3.9Keeper Distin and Aguero

Thank God I can eventually Aguero

One last thing , I am predicting that Aguero will be at max. 12.7 at the start of GW 32 ( Am I wrong? )

    What are Rooney owners doing?

    A - keeping
    B- selling for aguero?
    C - selling for Sturridge?

Even though his points have moved me up my leagues this week, he has put me in a right pickle!

Which team is better for GW31?

    Boruc
    Evra, Kompany, Chester
    Hazard, Nolan, AJ, Mata
    Suarez, Sturridge, ?A or B?

    A) Play Aguero Bench : Snodgrass, Bassong, Ward
    B) Play Lukaku. Bench : Lallana, Terry, Ward

    (A) has Aguero and Is -8 next week
    (B) is better set up for future GMWKs and is -8 over two weeks, would get Aguero in GMWK 34

who do you think is the best pick for the the double?

    A) Sissoko
    B) Sterling
    C) Livermore

Sterling, closely followed by Sissoko. Sissoko could be a very good buy, getting into good positions in his favoured position now that Cabaye is gone.

Sissoko is an interesting one, definitely looked better since Cabaye left and he moved off the wing

      Sissoko too inconsistent.
Sterling according to 'pool fans isnt guaranteed his place with Lucas back and Coutinho not being a bench player.
      Its Livermore for me
