Mondogoal Arrives At Fantasy Football Scout

Fantasy Football Scout are delighted to announce that we’re teaming up with Mondogoal, a new daily and weekly Fantasy Football game, for the 2014/15 season.

Mondogoal arrives as a new player on the scene, backed by two of the Premier League’s elite – Man City and Liverpool – and delivers a new experience, allowing Fantasy Managers to compete for free or for cash prizes across a range of games in any given Gameweek.

The game not only covers the Premier League; Mondogoal support both the Champions League and Europa League and run contests for all the major top flight leagues – Serie A, La Liga, Bundesliga, Ligue 1 and Major League Soccer (MLS).

Getting involved is simple – you register an account, find a contest to join and then go about selecting your starting XI.

The basic principles will be familiar, although Mondogoal has its own scoring system which introduces new factors into play when considering your lineup. Points are awarded for completed passes, defenders benefit from interceptions gathered, while the propensity to draw and commit fouls is also key.

Each week we’ll be presenting you with our assessment of the top targets on offer ahead of each set of Premier League fixtures. Throughout the season, Mondogoal will be hosting Fantasy Football Scout contests with prize pots on offer for our visitors.

A full strategy guide, discussing the finer points of the Mondogoal scoring system and assessing how this will shape our tactics, will be published later this week.

For now, check out Mondogoal’s introduction movie below and scan their site for more details.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

Would you guys rather have a defence of

    A) Cahill/Evans/Ward/Chester/Ferdinand
With Bojan as a 3rd striker

    or

    B) Cahill/Ward/Chester/2 4.0
    With Pelle as a 3rd striker ?

I really tried squeezing out 1 mil to upgrade pelle to 8.5 but I couldnt

For those who missed it, I made a post on what players should be priced at, and which are best value here:

    http://www.fantasyfootballscout.co.uk/2014/08/11/scout-report-mauricio-isla/?hc_page=1#hc_comment_7828832

The first spreadsheet isn't brilliant for accuracy, but outlines the few best options, where as the other one is best for close comparisons and is just better on the whole.

Can I suggest some kind of evaluation of Citys attacking options as the next burning question article Mark & the scoutcast team.

So much uncertainty surrounding the champions and top scorers

    Dzeko v Jov
    Silva v's Nasri
    Kun....is he worth the price

So many possibilities for discussion so I'd keep it quite broad........like 'Will you be going into the season with any City players?' or something like that

Forster and Green, I'm amazed no one has considered this (I think Saints will buy a CB, and you'll be playing Green GW1 anyway)

I am surprised that they have paid so much money for a GK, while they have troubles in other positions and Boruc is good enough.

Even if Forster starts, he may lose his place sooner than later, he's not anything special tbh..

Yes. Or one with a chance of playing. Foster is injury prone so Myhill could come into play but as you point out, he'll also be most likely to drop in price. The rest will probably be ok.

You'd be better off getting a high percentage one, not many will be changing their 4m gk, and will need about 30,000 in a gameweek to go down in price which won't happen.

      - Terry getting on and will be rotated more
      - Ivanovic plays better with Cahill, so will be more likely to go in for Terry when he plays CB (this one sounds a bit fantastic to me)

on the flip side, Cahill has international duty...

    Guys, Two questions.

    1. What are the chances Azpilicueta will start.
    2. Need a 4.5 mid - Definite starter.

think they'll be better this year, but it's a worry

the only other decent 4.5 rotators I can find are Heaton or Schmeichel though

In the Premier league? And out of how many matches? 111 in 38 matches is not a lot for example.

Of those 162 is the only one I'd consider a good level of saves out of 38 matches. Marshall for example got 153 last season. Mannone got 137 in just 28 matches.

Here's a table. Green's stats for 2012/13 in his 14 appearances are far from convincing. One clean sheet and four errors directly leading to a goal. http://members.fantasyfootballscout.co.uk/my-stats-tables/view/5853/

can you find me a decent rotation with Forster then?

would also allow me to get a 4.5 QPR defender to cover for Ward

              I just wouldn't rotate a 5m and a 4.5m gk. I'd either do DDG and a 4m or two 4.5m ones.

Of those I'd go for good goalkeepers who get lots of save points. Krul/Guzan/Foster....its boring but don't mess around with new players who cost more...go tried and tested.

Mannone and Krul looks the best...depends whether you fancy the gamble of game time at Sunderland.

yeah that was in 38 matches, back in 07/08

the 162 was in 37 games,

see above the only other half decent rotations I can with a 4,5 keeper involve Burnley or Leicester

That was when he was good. He's been poor for a few years now.

I'd prefer Burnley or Leicester ones...they could end up being this year's Marshall and pull off some super save totals.

assuming I went Leicester would you play Schmeichel at home to Everton?

An Everton without Lukaku and Mirallas is basically a better version of Leicester. Well maybe an exaggeration but I'm not sure where Everton's goals will come from if their Belgians are not ready.
