Monitor – Morgan Schneiderlin

Arsenal and Tottenham were both rebuffed in their attempts to sign Southampton’s World Cup star Morgan Schneiderlin this summer and hanging on to the French midfielder has proven crucial to the Saints’ ascent under new boss Ronald Koeman.

The 10.7% of Fantasy Premier League managers who have backed Schneiderlin have seen a phenomenal return from the central midfielder, who has chalked up 29 points in his last three appearances, courtesy of a trio of goals and four bonus points.

In our next members’ article of the week, we turn to the Key Performance Indicators (KPI) tables in order to assess Schneiderlin’s progress from the previous campaign under Mauricio Pochettino.

For the unfamiliar, these KPI tables are designed to use a series of key stats to allow our members to track form or changes in player performance. By tracking the frequency of certain key statistics and comparing them over two separate periods of time, we can ascertain whether a player’s form has improved or declined. As mentioned in last summer’s introductory article, we’ve rolled out a preview movie which shows just how to get the best out of the KPI tables.

By comparing this season to last, we should be able to get an indication as to how he will be utilised in Koeman’s new-look side and determine whether his high points return so far could be sustainable. By also referencing the Comparison Tool and season totals, we get a better indication as to how he fared:

Howdy DZ. How y'all doing this morning/evening/night? Anyone up to dish up some advice about my team for the following week?

    Krul
    Pieters - Caulker - PVA
Fabregas - Sterling - Di Maria - Siggy
    Costa (vc) - Rooney (C) - Welbeck

    Foster - JWP - Clyne - Naylor

    1) Worried about the order of my defense. Have I got it right? Don't see any CSs in the Swansea/Southampton match but still not too comfortable with benching both Clyne and Naylor. Pieters injury might make my decision easier!

    2) Welbeck > Pelle with my FT? Fixtures and form would suggest so

Looks like most of us gave Clyne on the bench this week.
Only thing im wondering is Boyd or Clyne forst sub, similar to your dilemma

      1) Think you've got the defence correct. I'm predicting 2-2 in the Sot-Swa game.

      2) That could be the worst transfer you ever make. Save the free.

Haha cheers Mull. You really think so?

Pele (swa, QPR, tot) vs. Welbeck (avl, TOT, che)

There's lots of goals to be had in the Villa and Spurs games. It's hard not to score when you're playing up front for Arsenal.

Fair enough. You may have convinced me to stick for the Villa game. If he blanks I'll get Pelle in for QPR 😉

      Im playing clyne and ivanovic.
I suggest select on form. Id be worried about playing both costa and fabregas.

    Forster - McCarthy
    Clyne - Bardsley - Taylor - Duff - Hutton
    ADM - Fabregas - Sterling - Siggy - Boyd
    Costa - Rooney - Pelle

With 2.1 ITB for a rainy day.

      Ahh youve done it!

Theres a risk in both ADM and Rooney, things could easily turn out that Falcao and Mata/Herrera start getting involved in the majority of Man u goals. then you have a bit of a mess, I would take the risk with one of them.

Although Cameron reckons hes only out a coupkle of weeks nd is competition for Bardsley, and seeing as they lost at home to stoke they may be tempted to bring him back in

Thanks Trigg. I think I'm willing to punt on Bardsley, I think there's a possibility Cameron takes Wilson's place when he's back. Rafael is an interesting one but I'm not sure if he's nailed on and he's very injury prone.

Might try fit Baines in if I've still got the cash.

Not too tempted by their attackers, Martinez loves to rotate and that'll just be more frequent with Europa.

Well that's the issue for me now.

If I go Bardsley over Baines, then I also have 2.1m in the bank.

That could be used either for Baines or Kun.

                  Exactly.

IMO the best thing is to keep the money in the bank, which gives you more flexibility...

But maybe you should get Baines so our teams aren't exactly the same. lol

    Good Morning All

So I have 33 M to spend on...

    -------- 1 Goalkeeper ------------

    --------- 2 Defenders ------------ ( Already have Hutton , Duff, Moore )

    --------- 1 Midfielder -------------- ( Have Siggy, Sterling, Fab)

    ---------- 1 Forward --------------- (Have Aguero, Costa)

    Im thinking either

    A) Pelle + premium mid, and fill out defense with rest of funds

    B) Rooney + Budget mid (chadli, schneiderlin, etc.) and fill out defence

    C) Baines + 4.5 (Naylor) and working up from there

Would love to get the valuable opinions of my fellow scouts

Sterling is garbage without Sturridge in the team , he the only one moving and easy to pick up

Clyne or Naylor one to bench

Swansea 2.50 Southampton 3.50 so Swansea the favourites so in theory
    more chance of a cleanie

Sky has clean sheets at 2/1 or 3.00 for Swansea clean sheet and 9/4 or 3.25 for Southampton clean sheet. I'd go with the home team's defence.

    Have 0.7 in the bank

    Could do

    A) Chaill > Baines / Ivan

    Or downgrade

    B) Lamela > Chadli to free up more

    This weeks FT is....

2-3 months apparently. The Arsenal defence will tighten up sooner or later and at 4.5m you won't find better than a nailed on Arsenal defender.

    DeGea
    Wilson PvA Duff
    Hazard Siggy Ramsey Sterling
    Ade Rooney Costa

    Bench: xx, Clyne, Marney, Hutton.

Any ideas as to how to spend a FT on this team?

Considering Marney to Boyd just to save that 0.1, or maybe get in McCarthy as non playing gk.

    Morning people,

Need to watch the pennies over the coming days if I'm not to get caught out by price rises/drops and end up not being able to afford what I want to do.

What is now generally considered the most reliable source of price changes?

    Thanks.

      Tough call.

I would say that C is definitely out.

Di Maria has the fixture, Cesc has the form, and Ramsey is well, Rambo.

I myself would go with B.
