The Weekend Team News

Tom Huddlestone and Andrew Robertson are doubtful as Hull head to Anfield. James McArthur emerges as a doubt for Crystal Palace’s clash against West Brom, who look set to welcome back Ben Foster. Gus Poyet pledges to stick by Vito Mannone as Arsenal pay visit. Stoke suffer an injury blow to Glenn Whelan, while the Hammers are boosted by the returns of Cheikhou Kouyate and James Tomkins.

Neil Warnock has confirmed that James McArthur and Scott Dann are both doubts ahead of the Baggies clash. Dann missed the defeat to Chelsea with a knee injury, while James McArthur could also miss out this weekend after coming off against the Blues with a hip problem.

West Brom are boosted ahead of the visit of Palace by the return of Ben Foster. The keeper missed the Monday night stalemate with Man United due to a calf complaint but has since returned to training. Meanwhile, Jonas Olsson and Silvestre Varela are sidelined for the Baggies.

Gus Poyet has kept faith with Vito Mannone ahead of the visit of Arsenal, despite the heavy defeat inflicted by Southampton last week. Poyet also reveals that changes will be minimal, with “about 75%” of the side that started against the Saints retaining their places. Elsewhere, the Black Cats have announced the signing of Frenchman Anthony Reveillere, with the full-back set to go straight into the squad against Arsenal subject to international clearance.

Stoke boss Mark Hughes has revealed that Glenn Whelan will be sidelined for up to six weeks with a fractured leg. Meanwhile, Phil Bardsley is Stoke’s only injury concern after sustaining a back problem in last week’s clash with Swansea. Hughes remains hopeful the full-back will train later and be in contention to face Southampton.

Arsene Wenger has admitted Laurent Koscielny remains unavailable for Arsenal this weekend and is hoping to have his compatriot back after the next international break. The Gunners boss also confirmed he’s “not sure” over Theo Walcott’s involvement, though went on to say the winger will “certainly” be in the squad next week.

Cheikhou Kouyate and James Tomkins are back in the squad for West Ham’s meeting with Man City, confirms Sam Allardyce.

Steve Bruce has revealed both Tom Huddlestone and Andrew Robertson are “big doubts” for Hull’s trip to Liverpool. With Nikica Jelavic, Steve Harper and Michael Dawson ruled out in midweek, the Tigers boss concedes he may have to make “four or five changes” to the side that drew at Arsenal last weekend.

All this and more has now been updated in the Team News section ahead of tomorrow’s deadline. Keep an eye on our official Twitter Stream as breaking news unfolds.

Mourinho presser: Costa has a slight chance of playing this weekend and an even less chance of playing against QPR next week because I love trolling FFS and want Aguero to have as less ownership as possible

Yeah true. Could do Di Maria -> Hazard or Fab in the future, but I doubt i will be getting rid of him soon.

Eughh, I kind of did the opposite actually.

To answer your question, I perhaps should have played defensive and brought in Welbeck over Berahino. That could bite me quite badly in my ML.

Transfer Costa and Sterling for Ageuro and Benderson?

A gamble, but between Palace reshuffling their defence, West Brom's favourable next few fixtures and Berhino's form it could pay off. But imagine how you will feel if Ulloa scored twice against Swansea 🙂

    bit of a pickle

    De Gea 4.0
    Terry, Naylor, Duff (Coloccini, PVA)
    Sterling, Siggy, Sanchez, Eriksen (Boyd)
    Ulloa, Aguero, Costa

Desperately poor team this week, and De Gea, Terry, PVA, and Ulloa all probably need to go. Plus Costa problem
I have 2 FT. Would you:

    1) De Gea, Terry, Ulloa -> Guzan, Chambers, Pelle/Welbeck (-4)
    or
    2) Just Costa -> Pelle/Welbeck and keep 2FT to sort defence next week?

Which of these looks the best?

    A. Terry -> Bertrand. Save 2nd FT. Play Hutton.

    B. Terry - > Bertrand & Bruce - > Rose. Bench Hutton

    Please and thank you 🙂

Taking Terry out a week before QPR at home is a funny one but if I had to pick I would say A

Terry has been lingering around like a bad smell for a while now. This is the best opportunity to be rid of him! The 1.0m will come in handy too

      Still on this..... 😉

Maybe save the FT and play Hutton at QPR. Fancy Villa have the strength to turn them over 0-3

        Yep. It's a tough one.

I have 1 eye on Costa & Siggy -> Welbeck & Hazard for free next week if Costa is ruled out so I'd like 2 frees

Morning all, I will obviously wait until the Mou presser before doing anything but what are people's thoughts on this?

    2 FT (0.2 ITB)

    Forster (4.0)

    Clyne, Chambers, Duff (Moore, Robertson)

    Siggy, Fab, ADM, Sterling (Boyd)

    Pelle Kun Costa.

    How does this sound:
If Costa is out for a while
Costa to Welbz, Duff to Baines

If Costa is coming back soon
    Duff to Hutton?

    Thanks chaps

I'd do nothing. Keep Costa unless Mour rules him out for a month.
      Maybe ADM--> Eriksen

If costa is our for a while i like welbs and baines.

I dont think costa is going to be out for the long personally. Will be keeping him on the bench regardless of mourinho today. Especially as i have aguero like yourself.

I have 0.5 in the bank i am selling ward and silva. Do i go for either ivan or baines? Will probably go for sigi

I reckon he might pull the old...

"Diego has been training separately from the rest of the squad, he has a very little chance of making it"

(Foreign managers always wrongly slip the word "a" before the word "little" to add more confusion.

Only way I can do it is by losing one of Sterling/Fab/ADM... Who would be your choice, if any?

I have Ster + Fab and will drop ADM to be able to bring in Baines and Tadic.

Sort of a repost due to confusion on the last page. I'm in a draft league where only one person can have each player. Looking to get Jelavic out of my team, but most strikers on the game are taken (all on the watchlist). 0.5ITB so 6.5 to spend.

The best picks are probably Kane (who I was strongly considering before he played 90 mins last night), F. Campbell, Austin, Crouch, Diouf, Fletcher, Jutkiewicz, Weimann, Vargas.

Are any of those close to solid picks? As I say I really wanted Kane but not sure whether to risk it or wait a week and sort my keepers (Bego/Krul, looking at Foster or Guzan)

Unrelated but I could also potentially trade RVP for Adebayor. Both looking poor of late, but Ade at least has fixtures and the funds could go towards upgrading Jelavic to Valencia or even punt on Lambert or Jelavic.

Kelly, got some nice fixtures. Vlaar maybe. Also at 4.2 Geoff Cameron may be an option with Whelan injured (Cameron came on and played CDM last week)

Right guys, big problems here, need to replace lots of players....

    KRUL/ELLIOT
    Baines Clyne PVA BLACKETT BRUCE
    Sterling Tadic Siggy Sanchez ADM
    COSTA NAISMITH ULLOA

Really need Costa and Sterling to play a bit, and hope Di Maria is fit

Got money for a straight Costa to Aguero, or could do ADM and Ulloa to Downing and Aguero for a -4
The defence is becoming a shambles too.

    WC??
