The Weekend Team News

Tom Huddlestone and Andrew Robertson are doubtful as Hull head to Anfield. James McArthur emerges as a doubt for Crystal Palace’s clash against West Brom, who look set to welcome back Ben Foster. Gus Poyet pledges to stick by Vito Mannone as Arsenal pay visit. Stoke suffer an injury blow to Glenn Whelan, while the Hammers are boosted by the returns of Cheikhou Kouyate and James Tomkins.

Neil Warnock has confirmed that James McArthur and Scott Dann are both doubts ahead of the Baggies clash. Dann missed the defeat to Chelsea with a knee injury, while James McArthur could also miss out this weekend after coming off against the Blues with a hip problem.

West Brom are boosted ahead of the visit of Palace by the return of Ben Foster. The keeper missed the Monday night stalemate with Man United due to a calf complaint but has since returned to training. Meanwhile, Jonas Olsson and Silvestre Varela are sidelined for the Baggies.

Gus Poyet has kept faith with Vito Mannone ahead of the visit of Arsenal, despite the heavy defeat inflicted by Southampton last week. Poyet also reveals that changes will be minimal, with “about 75%” of the side that started against the Saints retaining their places. Elsewhere, the Black Cats have announced the signing of Frenchman Anthony Reveillere, with the full-back set to go straight into the squad against Arsenal subject to international clearance.

Stoke boss Mark Hughes has revealed that Glenn Whelan will be sidelined for up to six weeks with a fractured leg. Meanwhile, Phil Bardsley is Stoke’s only injury concern after sustaining a back problem in last week’s clash with Swansea. Hughes remains hopeful the full-back will train later and be in contention to face Southampton.

Arsene Wenger has admitted Laurent Koscielny remains unavailable for Arsenal this weekend and is hoping to have his compatriot back after the next international break. The Gunners boss also confirmed he’s “not sure” over Theo Walcott’s involvement, though went on to say the winger will “certainly” be in the squad next week.

Cheikhou Kouyate and James Tomkins are back in the squad for West Ham’s meeting with Man City, confirms Sam Allardyce.

Steve Bruce has revealed both Tom Huddlestone and Andrew Robertson are “big doubts” for Hull’s trip to Liverpool. With Nikica Jelavic, Steve Harper and Michael Dawson ruled out in midweek, the Tigers boss concedes he may have to make “four or five changes” to the side that drew at Arsenal last weekend.

All this and more has now been updated in the Team News section ahead of tomorrow’s deadline. Keep an eye on our official Twitter Stream as breaking news unfolds.

Bankable value (i.e. sale price) is more important than team value and Costa *could* be down to his sale price for us GW1 owners by the time Chelsea kick-off on Sunday so shipping last night was the right thing. Just wish I had done the move last week!!!

11.0, selling last night for 10.8 banked. One more drop and one more increase from Pelle and bringing back for no financial loss and that money is banked.

This. Never quite got how everyone was saying if they sold Costa they couldn't afford him back. No loss to .2 loss very max if done correctly. (perhaps even a profit for those shrewd dogs out there)

Thinking about doubling up on S'oton defence for the next three gws [starting @hull away, couldn't afford it right away as I already confirmed my transfer for this gw]. Forster/Clyne the def pair to be? Can't see past those two tbh. Switching my gk right after gw 12. Team as it stands.

    Schmeichel
    Clyne-Baines-Ivanovic
    Di Maria-Fabregas-Sigurdsson-Sterling
    Aguero-Pelle-Berahino

Subs: Gilks - Downing - Van Aanholt, Duff.

    0.6m ITB

As above, next freebie will be Schmeichel -> Forster and week after that Van Aanholt -> Wisdom [good rotation with Clyne as there are some tricky fixtures coming up for S'oton].

    Thoughts? 😆

Issue is in a few weeks time they come up against City, Arsenal, United, Chelsea, Arsenal again and United with a couple of nice fixtures in between. So would you plan on owning two and then sell one?

Depends what GK you plan on bringing in after GW 12, seems to be a few transfers being spent on keepers is all.

Each to their own. Personally I find planning ahead a waste of time. It's quite good fun, but ultimately something else will come up that makes you change your mind, like a Costa hatrick next week.

I think your link needs fixing by the way. Unless you are 1.8m in the world which I doubt with a team like that.

    A) Terry > Baines
    B) Terry + Silva + Costa > Baines + Chadli + Aguero (-8)
    C) Silva + Costa > Chadli/Eriksen + Aguero (-4)

A seems like the sensible option. Opinions lads?

Given the number of chances he creates and crosses he puts in I'd actually say he's under performing regarding assists, needs RVP or Falcao to start putting them away.

Near enough to every assist he has had this season has been a misfired shot. Stats not the way to look at ADM IMO.

A couple were yes, point I'm making is that while he was lucky to get those assists he created so many chances in each match that arguably he was unlucky not get a number of assists. I rarely use stats really.

I wonder if Jose might just give Costa as much rest and recovery as he can - if he misses United they won't have any trouble with QPR without him and then that just leaves Liverpool (a).

Of course he will want him for that - but maybe in his warped mind he only uses him from the bench or for an hour. This will mean he will only get up to full fitness via the international break which will likely annoy del Bosque - who will then have him half cooked, but 2 internationals will get him nicely back to match fitness in time for WBA (h).

You don't get under Jose's skin without payback...

I know he scored 2 goals, one of which was amazing but he doesn't look a great player. He has at least two bad habits -
      1. Not looking around him before he gets the ball and then trying to look once he gets it as if to say 'look at me, I know what I'm doing'.
      2. Running around the ball to get on his left foot, much like a tennis player runs around their backhand to get on their forehand.

I've never seen a player as one-footed as him. I don't think he's very good either - SHIP
