FFS Paddy Power Cup X – Seventh Round Draw

This evening, we roll out the seventh round draw of the Fantasy Football Scout Cup X, as sponsored by Paddy Power, and take a look back at the key events during New Year’s Day’s sixth round ties.

United Nations is fast becoming the manager to beat after clocking up his second prize for scoring the highest number of points in a round. A tally of 69 points has propelled him into 334th position overall, earning him another £25 worth of free bets from Paddy Power and setting him up for a round seven tie with Mince and Tatties. United Nations’ fielding of Harry Kane and Gael Clichy proved crucial to his victory.

The giant-killing accolade of the round goes to Aaron Ramessi. He may be ranked 33,436th overall but he saw off round six’s highest ranked manager Never Trust Lukaku, who is ranked 19th. Aaron Ramessi now faces CMIFLFC in the seventh round.

Other notable round seven ties include Mediocre Men, who knocked Granville out in round five, taking on Momalpashands, and community writer Saata facing up to Wolverine. Jimbojunior drew the short straw and meets round seven’s highest ranked manager Mjfdept, who is 65th overall.

Among the 16 remaining competitors, 13 have a rank within the top 10,000 and four are in the elite top 1,000 group.

The full list of sixth round results can be found here, while the seventh round draw in full can be found here.

Good luck to those involved in the weekend’s action. In the meantime, though, if you’re looking for more information on the Scout Cup schedule and prizes available, click this link for a more thorough rundown.

Anyone with Hart their only playing keeper and not wildcarding this week? What to do with him? I have 1 FT but if he's playing I'll use it somehow else...

I'd certainly consider him at 4.9 but he won't be 100% nailed on

For a punt I bought Sterling in last GW. It just about paid off but it was nervous times... I'm now considering selling after just 1 GW back to Eriksen.

    Madness or rational thinking?

I've had Sterling from GW1 until my Wildcard just now as I think he will be given a bit of a rest soon and also he is not exactly playing great at the moment. Yes, he is explosive when he is, but I've gone with Coutinho for a bit of a differential.

At the prices Welbeck is a fantastic route into the Arsenal attack - even though I do not rate Welbeck at all. Alexis is insanely overpriced.

I was hoping ADM would be fit this past GW.

I want ManU "cover" for GW 22->...

Rooney/ADM only options I would consider.

He is the one that stays one when Falcao/Rvp goes off. Then he moves further forward.

He still does well irrespective of where he plays.

Whats the plan on WC? I like the look of Southampton again towards the end of the month. Double up on their defense again?

I've kept Berty since my WC in Gw 4. He aint going anywhere. No double up for me.

      I suspect I'll go:

      wba/bur
      avl/wba/che/sot/sun.

Terry looks a no brainer. Toby for saints if you don't have one of the fullbacks already. Consider Newcastle defs for other budget choices too, check rotations. And if Vlaar goes to MU, grab him.

Sanchez is definitely on probation for me. He's very expensive and unless he starts to return with Arsenal's imminent juicy fixtures he could be gone in the WC.

First attempt at WC - RMT

    Guzan Pants
    Jones Zabaleta Terry Hutton Aldw
    Fabregas Hazard Sanchez Chadli Boyd
    Aguero Austin Kane
    .5 ITB

    Maybe AdM instead of Fabregas

    1. Sparrer
      • 10 Years
      9 years, 4 months ago

Too much in defense, for me, and no escape from Austin to another big forward. I think defensively you're falling into the trap of spending all your cash. Personally I'd lose one or both of Jones and Zab and try and get value options - post WC Aldw and Terry take two spots, so you have three players rotating for one slot.

No worries, good luck! If its of any interest I think I'll be bringing in another midprice where your fabregas is and using the surplus to get studge, Rooney or Costa in for Austin. His fixtures in the second half have tough games at home and I think the worm is turning.

Guys want to save my WC until later this month, but really want Chadli. What are your thoughts?
Or have I got other pressing issues?

What is the better option? Taking out Baines - Downing - Falcao for:

    1. Hutton - Yaya - Benteke

    2. S.Taylor - Silva - Costa

    Team is:
    Hart (Fabianski)
    Zab, Ivan, Yun, Shackell, Sakho
    Hazard, Sanchez, Erikson, Boyd, Sterling
    Austin, Kane, Benteke

Are people playing or benching Naylor? My entire defence is away:

    Bego (bur)

    Hutton(lei) Zaba(eve) Bertrand(man)

Maybe Naylor should take Bertrands place? Naylor has WHU at home

    Cahill Clichy Hutton
    Sanchez Hazard Silva Downing
    Costa Rooney Austin

    Hamer Boyd Wisdom Yun

    0.7ITB and 2FT

Yeah, drop Sanchez when he's playing at home to Stoke, that seems sensible!

    Austin to Jovetic for FT?

City has everton and arsenal next and both have shocking defenses
