    Dear Matthew Upson:

After watching the replay in slow motion several times, I am disgusted at your dirty antics. I was a central defender for many years. I see what you were trying to do there. Eyes directly focused on Alexis's left leg. Absolutely no intention of playing the ball, following through deliberately with a two footed tackle. You may have fooled many, including the ref who for some reason didn't even call a foul. Oddly enough, there were also several questionable tackles on Cazorla and Ozil as well.

    Makes me wonder.

Wasilewski conveniently got dropped for this game even though he had been playing fairly well.
You haven't played ONE minute of ANY game all year.

Did you have a planned agenda prior to this game?
Did that Pearson scumbag put you up to this?
    Taking one for the team?

    Wouldn't surprise me one bit.
If you can't compete with the best, then the only way to try and stop them is to resort to aggression and brutality.
If you can't beat them, BEAT THEM?
I sincerely hope you and Leicester don't win another game this season and get relegated all the way back to Ligue 2.

    👿

    BTW
If you think this mentality doesn't spread through a desperate, losing locker room, then I'm sorry you are just naïve.
I'm not overreacting, being biased, and I'm not bitter about Sanchez blank at all.
I am more upset that this kind of behavior slips under the radar.
Watch the tackle again, and look at it carefully. It was completely reckless.

Thankfully, it wasn't too serious in the end and Alexis will be able to recover. It did severely impact him for the remainder of the game though, you can tell when his knee gave out and he slipped while running toward the corner flag. Really surprised he wasn't subbed off at half-time when it was 2-0 .

That's all, I feel better now.

I'm sorry if I've upset you, Ruberx. I was just doing what the gaffer told me to do. I was playing the ball but Alexis' quick feet made it difficult for me to execute my tackle effectively. I apologised to him after the game and we shook hands. After suffering numerous injuries throughout my career, I would never go into a tackle with the intentions of injuring an opponent. In saying that, I apologise for the tackle. Sorry.

Ruberx - I am aware that Alexis has many admirers. Personally, I love watching him play as I'm sure you and many others do as well. However, I find your accusations quite offensive. With over 500 professional games under my belt, I've received just 2 red cards. My career tally of 33 yellows is also below the norm for a Premier League central defender. I am not a dirty player, as my teammates and managers I have worked with would agree on. As I said before, I would never wish an injury on someone, especially a fellow professional. The fact that the referee didn't even call it a foul shows that under his professional eye, there was very little malice in it, and it was not a deliberate offence. The matter has been resolved and Alexis has forgiven me. I wish him a speedy recovery.

I forgive you Matthew Upson and I'm sure Alexis did too. Considering that you are getting up there in your career, I will take your word that it was just a mistimed tackle which ended up looking alot worse than it was.

I never wanted to believe that that it was predetermined and deliberate. But unfortunately this does happen from time to time especially with teams that really have nothing to lose.

Just take it easy on my boy next time, will ya?

Yes, the inconsistency between refs is annoying but kinda expected in this sport. Football's kind of stubborn when it comes to evolving the game and defining new 'fixed' rules

Honestly, only thing that worries me about Alexis is his physique holding up the whole season.

Assuming tomorrow's games don't dramatically change the picture, a Chelsea player, probably Oscar, is surely on the chopping block soon given the coming blank GW. But given they play Burnley next maybe hold this week so you can do it the following week and carry a FT into GW27.

It can be if our differentials fail, but if we get them right... Up we go!

I think the key now is trying to work out when to go different and when to stay safe. I could have gone different last week but Aguero before the game seemed such a great choice that the risk of dropping back seemed greater than potential benefits of going up.

Costa will miss a GW tho soon and may be banned again within a week or 2.

You think so? But City (the gaffer especially) need him to step up to mount some serious challenge for CHE.

Aye, but define step-up? By goalscoring? Not sure here Nabil, they need his creativity, deliveries and influence in midfield more than anything. His long rage goals and FK's are just an added bonus, definitely not what they truly need right now.

City were fine with Negredo and Aguero up top to score goals last year, and Bony and Aguero will do the same this year hopefully. What they need is a midfield enforcer in YYT to dictate games and let Aguero have the space to make runs with ease, they need better service. I don't think goalscoring is a prerequisite for YYT and Pell, he definitely has the ability to score from range when the space is available, but they need a creative engine in central midfield right now. Nothing more to it, IMO.

I can't see YYT being a good option, IMO with Aguero fit and not having pens. Hefty price tag and with the likelihood of Sturridge and Costa being fit in tandem, they will both become genuine options soon for some. YYT is a luxury for me at least, and very hard to fit in.

            Good points there Zasa.

Negredo and Aguero were fine last year, but then when Kun got injured Yaya become the main man. This year we could see that Yaya had his moments too, although not as great as last season. I agree that he might not be a great FPL pick again, but if City really want to defend that title they need him to deliver again.

Another point is fixtures are pretty plum for City from now on, so I'd be interested to get more City assets. Bear in mind that city defense has burnt us before, though.

Yes good point, YYT definitely has had his moments this season but IMO, they've been few and far betweenwhen Aguero was on the pitch.

He's scored 7 goals so far this season in 17 game in the Prem. Yet only managed 3 goals in the 13 games him and Aguero played together in the Prem (counting aside the Everton game when he scored a pen after Aguero's injury). The rest have been when Pell played with the false 9 system when Silva subsequently when on a fine run slotted in the hole and two of those goals being penalties.

I think the Silva and YYT will both have less goal scoring prowess with both Bony and Aguero up top, IMO. Can't see how YYT will take as much offensive burden now, Pell needed his offensive threat tenfold when Aguero was out but I think that request is negated now and will revert back to being the midfield enforcer that he's always been

Good chance to start, albeit he's fighting Milner for the RM spot and he offers better defensive contribution. It's between them though and perhaps you should expect Pell to favor Milner for the big games when more midfield solidity is needed, not to certain though

Wow, that stats are really insightful. Cheers for it.

Yeah I think we will revert back to the Kun-is-enough-for-City days in no time. However, I'm quite intrigued with the prospect of Bony. If he proves to be successful, then a big decision has to be made - replace or double up. What do you think of that?

I can't make too fair of an assessment until he plays tbh, but if he's partnered with Aguero I think the possibilities are endless. Could be a massive differential and Bony is also still high with confidence/form and coming out of a substantial performance at the AFCON.

Could maybe even go for a double-up 😯
Verdict's still out on how he'll fit in though, very interesting for sure. I expect nothing less than 3-0's and 4-0's from City soon as they are feeling the pressure, and YYT will be back to boost the team up and straighten them out

    Krul / Panti
    Terry / Fonte / Bellerin / Wisdom / Wasilewski
    Sanchez / Hazard / Tadic / Eriksen / Colback
    Giroud / Kane / Aguero

    0.7 ITB, 1 FT

I'm thinking of saving the FT this week, then preparing for GW27 blank by removing Wasilewski and Eriksen.

Does anyone have any recommendations for who to replace them with for GW27, keeping in mind the Spurs/Chelsea blank. Would have 13.1 in the bank to spend.

Wenger played a 4-3-3 with Ozil - Alexis - Theo up top

Well you can assume how Alexis's night went with the injury.

Leicester put an emphasis on Cazorla and he got caught in possession many times. He wasn't as dominant as he has been.

Ozil was his usual self. Poised, yet aggressive when he had to be. Got an assist to Kos from corner and theos goal came off a rebound from Ozil's shot

Theo pace is unbelieveable. I haven't watched him before , and I'm really impressed. His touch seems to be coming back as well.

    Im getting annoyed now.

Zasa - he with only one season and in 42,000 odd position, trying to tell me how to play the game.

The bench decisions i made with my defenders were the logical ones you bafoon. If all you do is go by the highly innacrate paddy power clean sheet odds, then you will never be any good.

Clyne , Bellerin and Van Aanholt, had massively better chances of attacking points than either Zouma or Kompany, far outweighing your highly innacurate clean sheet odds

If you must go by clean sheet odds then at least choose the most accurate, ie those on the betting exchanges, not the bookmakers, who only draw up odds based on their liabilities not the actual chances of a clean sheet actually occuring

Now stop going on about a discussion you had wih me, there was no discussion, just you replying to my comments hours after i logged off

Triggerlips, I normally enjoy reading your fantasy football thoughts so I mean no offence by this but can I suggest you come back when you are feeling a little calmer. While I happen to agree with the thrust of your argument on bookies odds (as evidenced by my response to Zasa further up this page), there's no need to be so aggressive in your argument.

And if you're getting this talk of "discussion" from my exchange with Zasa higher up, it was I that used that word, not him. My apologies if that categorisation was incorrect.

    7. Zasa

How am I telling you to play the game? Because I found it a strange decision to bench said players? are you serious? You're over exaggerating and taking things completely out of context.

Yes, it's my first season and I'd still consider my chances of finishing in the top10k decent 😮

I don't follow the PP odds like the bible, I said when I'm in doubt I follow those odds (i.e like this GW's defender headache).

That may be true and also considered that, but nevertheless Chelsea were/are the favorites to hold the line this GW and for a reason.

You're taking this to another level Triggerlips, what discussion are you talking about? Diva asked me a question on where I took those odds and replied, that it. You're taking this too personal.

    Folks, need some help. Badly.

    Panti (Hamer)
    Ivanovic Terry Clyne (PvA Bellerin)
    ADM Walcott Silva Hazard (Boyd)
    Aguero Kane Austin

    2 FT, 1.6m ITB.

Got to take out 2 Chelsea/QPR/Spurs guys before GW27 (ideally leaving 2 FT so they can slot right back in for DGW).

Austin -> Giroud & Terry/Ivan to cheap defender work? That way, in GW28, I could bring in Costa/Eriksen for Giroud/ADM (or Silva/Walcott instead of ADM).

Worry is that means I can't get in Sanchez for a bit. Very worrying indeed.

    Thoughts?

Lastly, what defender would you get? (up to about 5.2m).

Yeah, saving 0.7m seems worth it TBH.

Am I right to suggest that everyone is scoring low due to Sanchez blank and only QPR AVL kept cleansheets (and nobody fields their defenders)?

Yep. And most people are still left with 5/6 players to play. Differentials will become key for tonight.

Hopefully Jones and/or Silva will save my GW 🙁

Any suggestions for the below, guys?

    Krul / Panti
    Terry / Fonte / Bellerin / Wisdom / Wasilewski
    Sanchez / Hazard / Tadic / Eriksen / Colback
    Giroud / Kane / Aguero

    0.7 ITB, 1 FT

I'm thinking of saving the FT this week, then preparing for GW27 blank by removing Wasilewski and Eriksen.

Does anyone have any recommendations for who to replace them with for GW27, keeping in mind the Spurs/Chelsea blank. Would have 13.1 in the bank to spend.

For starters I'd save the GW27 FT so I have 2 FT for GW28. Better to plan that way.

Wasi definitely. Terry or Eriksen are less explosive than Kane or Hazard.

Play 10 man or take a -4? Tough call. Your 1 week punt must net you more than -4, also watch trade values swapping in and out.

Wont remove Eriksen if you want him back. Wasil to Naughton/Wollscheid

😳 Thought you were asking player's name 😛 I would expect Burnley to survive

I would say Burnley because they work so hard but I can't see them coming out of this run of fixtures in good shape. Should be Villa but they look horrid atm.

Green arrows with 22 points, captain played and only 5 players left - sure will mean a massive red arrow when today matches are played?

Right, what to do with this group?

    Heaton (Hamer)
    Cahill, Bellerin, Aldy, PvA, Wisdom
    Hazard, Sanchez, Puncheon, Downing (Albrighton)
    Kun, Kane, Defoe

    7.1m ITB

Thinking of shipping Cahill, would like to have 10 guaranteed starters for GW27 without taking a hit. I've boned myself by keeping Punch and Downing this long, might as well wait a little longer.

Hang tight. Wait for injuries tomorrow (also Aldy's fitness status). You have 10 days to decide.
