The Big Numbers – Gameweek 26

We delve into the members data this evening and assess the weekend’s ten fixtures. Everton and United’s misfiring frontmen, Villa’s aerial assault under Tim Sherwood, Palace’s improvement since Alan Pardew took the helm and QPR’s in-form wide man are amongst our Gameweek 26 topics.

Picking the right Tottenham defender is the key decision for the double.

Everybody will have Eriksen, Austin, Kane

Is it worth bringing in a spurs defender for a -4 though?

Certainly a thorny issue amongst many.

Rose the popular option as it stands

Rose seems the best option and is cheapest, but also the least nailed of Vertonghen, Walker, and him. If I take a hit it would probably be for Walker.

"Picking the right Tottenham defender is the key decision for the double."

Disagree. I don't see the need for any of them.

"Everybody will have Eriksen, Austin, Kane."

Not me. Don't want Austin and am 50/50 about bringing Eriksen in (though I probably will). Kane I already have.

I don't see much value in this DGW and won't be chasing it.

That sounds like stubbornness talking, there. I thought the same; having picked the guy at some point in each of the last few seasons. I got him in again this year when loads of other mids were injured, on a temporary basis, but don't wanna get rid now.
          Maybe this season is different...

He's making central runs ahead of the strikers at times, look at his position for his first goal this weekend.. Aguero assisted him against Chelsea and for being the assister to the assister.. his ball to Dzecko was absolute liquid football this weekend.

    How does this look?
This week: terry (lose .1) -> dawson
Next: ADM -> erikson, hutton or bellerin -> walker or any other spurs defender
Week after double: Walker -> Ivanovic

    1. Fiona B

Too many transfers on defenders. I am in a similar boat, wanted 3 spurs, but not overly sold on their defence, especially for hit. Might be Kane, Erikson and Austin for me

lost at bottom of last page, guidance appreciated:

2 FTs, only Haz, Fab and Kane for the blank

    (a) Wisdom ---> Dawson
    (b) Fab -----> Silva
    (c) both (and not save a transfer for Rose)

    team
    Pants
    Clyne Hutton Bellerin Clichy Wisdom
    Haz Fab Caz Sanchez Downing
    Kun Kane Defeo

leaning towards (C). Thanks in advance

I know, it is tempting, but a risk with Bellerin, Wisdom and Clichy all being risks.

Planning to do a -4 to get Erikson, Austin and Rose in if I save, but could do without Rose if it means getting 11 for this GW.

Bit rusty this week and a couple of gremlins but I think in a few weeks we'll be in full swing.

We'll line up some guests too.

Hopefully we can start scheduling them in YouTube and distributing a link prior to the broadcast so more folk know it's coming.

          Such a fickle game.
i am considering it as he is the only one of my four (ivanovic, hazard, kane) blankers who wouldn't cost me anything to buy back again a week later. Plus, if i get rid of ivanovic instead, it just means i'm playing 5 defenders this week which is never fun.

    Blank Game Week success!!

Just checked my ML rival (he is 1st by 10 points)

He has 3 Chelsea, 2 Spurs, 1 QPR and Colback - 7 players out and only one transfer.

Anyone else got any potential success stories from people not preparing for the blank?

I'm fifth in Manager of the month cash league and most of them above have 6 or 7 out. They're mostly all casuals but I still haven't managed to win one this season despite being 100 points ahead overall. Been second about 5 times. This could be the one where it's me who comes from nowhere to snatch the cash

Eriksen seems like a good pick for DGW, even though there is a rotation risk. Not sure on Austin yet. I'd say unless you can get someone who has a high probability of getting a CS this week, might be better to just play with 10 and save FT.

See how many players out your ML rivals have first, it could be a good way to make up ground or pull ahead. If you push the button I would get rid of Terry, keep Haz and Kane on the bench and leave enough to get Ericksen in next week
