FFS Cup

FFS Paddy Power Cup XI and Members Cup V – Entry Now Open

Fantasy Football Scout is pleased to announce two new Fantasy Premier League cup competitions which are set to take place over the season run-in. First of all, we roll out the eleventh instalment of our open-to-all cup competition, sponsored by Paddy Power. This is your chance to join our previous winners – donnellyc, Jonty, Gribude, Goonerdave, Ninja_Fit_Saints, sleepingmaster, Mch, Wild Rover, Tdubb05 and our reigning champion CMIFLFC in our hall of fame.

We’ve also opened entry for the fifth instalment of the Fantasy Football Scout Members Cup, as Trigg looks to defend his title. Fuzzy Dunlop, Kippax Kikkers and Acquafresca were our other previous winners of this tournament.

If you’re familiar with our competitions you can get your entries in right now via the links below. If you’re new to all this, read on for an FAQ on the competitions.

Enter the Paddy Power XI Cup via the entry form here.

Members can also enter the Members Cup V via this entry form.

How do the cup competitions work?

Our cup competitions are very similar to the Fantasy Premier League’s Fantasy Cup game. Entrants who qualify for the first round will be randomly drawn against each other and the winner of the tie is whoever has the highest score from that Gameweek, minus points spent on transfers (like in the original game and in head-to-head scores). In the event of a tie, the manager highest in the overall standings will progress.

When do they start?

The qualifying rounds for both cups will take place in Gameweek 28, with the first rounds running on Gameweek 29.

Fantasy managers can enter their teams from now right up to Wednesday March 11, when we’ll stop entry and will be drawing the first round ties from the qualifiers.

There will be 512 qualifiers for the members cup and 1024 for the Paddy Power Cup XI – depending on the number of entries. All our previous winners gain a bye into the first round draw where they will join the top scorers from Gameweek 28.

FPL standing will decide who progresses in the event of tied positions. The same rules apply in the Members Cup

How do I enter?

Enter the Paddy Power XI Cup via the entry form here.

Members can also enter the Members Cup V via this entry form.

In both cases you will be sent a confirmation email to verify your entry and you’ll be asked to confirm your FPL team id at the point of entry – please be sure to click the link to verify that your team is correct before confirming.

To check that you’re entered correctly, please scan the list of current entries.

The Paddy Power Cup XI entry list can be found here.

The Members Cup entry list can be found here.

When will I find out if I’ve qualified?

Results from the qualifying rounds of both cups will be published on or around March 11 and then weekly from that point on.

What is the Gameweek Schedule?

These Cup competitions will be played out according to the following Gameweek schedule:

Do I have to enter if I’m previous winner?

Yes, because your FPL team ID will have changed, we will need to record you entry again. As a previous winner, you will be given a bye to the first round proper.

Do I need to be registered with Fantasy Football Scout?

We ask you to supply a FFScout username so we can feature you, as a member of our community, in any articles associated with the tournament. Ideally, you will already have a username with us but this is not essential to enter (although it is for the Members Cup) – you must, however, supply a username for the purpose of the tournament so you can be identified in articles. You must not change this username throughout the course of the tournament, should you do so without permission, or should you enter multiple teams or if your FFS account comes under moderation for any reason, we reserve the right to remove you from a tournament.

Everybody talking about the DGW before GW27 has started. Not surprising as it is the first DGW of the season. But I must say so many top players have good fixtures and the favourites, Erik, Kane Lorris, Rose are risks with rotation and making room for Austin in an average side is a risk. The real deal is choosing the captain. After that the points variation will be about 6 pts at most.

Of course so the need to fill up with DG's is even less a requirement. many will go template Kane, Erik, Austin with fear of losing ground in mini leagues.

Don't think the captain choice is really up for discussion. Everyone will go Kane. Possibly Aguero but not going Kane is a huge risk imo

I honestly think getting no spurs or qpr players could still result in a green. Some juicy single week fixtures out there

Aguero at home to Leicester is potentially a huge one but think I'll stick to Kane (c)

This. Kane (c) is a no brainer. Though its quite possible Aguero could match him its a big risk considering Kane could just as easily outscore Aguero in one game.

So I am doing Wisdom to Woll.... do I take a hit somewhere?

    Panti (Foster)

    Albrighton ----> Moses

    Afternoon!

Unsure on what to do for this GW.

    Team is:

    Foster/Krul (form or fixture?)

    Naughton Berty Hutton Bellerin

    Sanchez (c) Coutinho Boyd ADM

    Aguero

    *** Terry Haz Austin Kane

    2 FT

If I take any of them out besides Terry I stand to lose 0.3 or more. The problem is I can't see any obvious clean sheets?

    Thoughts?

Krul to Llloris as you have 2 ft. Gives you a nailed on Spurs 'defender' for 2 games.

Could be an option yea, would have to get rid long term but might to that and just use 1 FT to get Eriksen in next week. Would mean playing with 10 this week thought :-/

              • 14 Years
              9 years, 2 months ago

Playing with 10 is not so bad imo. Say you do shift terry. You lose money, use a transfer and could end up with same points total. Would also prob want terry back in.

Saints are insipid. Chelsea clean sheet very likely in that game.

I can see your dilemma though. Personally I think you have three realistic choices seeing that you have 2 FTs:

          1. Austin or Kane to Sakho for 1 week, buy them back next week
          2. Terry to Cresswell and replace with Ivan next week
          3. Sanchez to Ozil because that'e better value long term

Re. the GKs they both have good fixtures, the WBA-Saints game has 0-0 written all over it. I'd go Foster as I don't trust the Toon defence.

2 was along the lines that I've been thinking. I frustratingly had Ivan all season until Jan wildcard, changed for Terry and the rest is history.

PS Congrats for having such a well set up team. To have 2 FTs and 10 nailed starters plus 4 DGW is no mean achievement. Nice situation to be in.

I deliberately avoided the Bairds and Wasilewskis at wildcard because I wanted nailed starters for GW 27. But still got screwed with Colback getting suspended and Wisdom and PvA losing their places. So like most others I am in damage limitation territory.

I had bad spell where I went from 5k to 35k and have been rebuilding, the likes of Coutinho have been a godsend. I had Wisdom also but got rid after 2 games dropped. Bellerin slightly worries me but his price was too good to ignore.

Yeah I did same with Wisdom but that was a FT I hadn't planned on having to use. Colback is the one that has really trolled me. 😉 PvA I knew was a risk so I can't complain about that.

I think so. There is a worry about minutes but I reckon you can overthink that. He seems the most attacking in the backline if he can get some decent minutes under his belt for the double.

Keep an eye on line ups

Can't argue with much of it and although I don't like the Saints double at the back I can't see any other obvious cleanies so at least their attacking threat could pay off.

May be as an alternative I'd go for an Arsenal defender against Everton. Everton have ran out of idea's a bit in the final 3rd.

    Hypothetical question:

    You have two options:

    A) You can win FPL

    B) Your team will win the league they are playing in this season

    Which do you pick?

            This!

By winning FPL my team still has a chance of winning the league which would make the fans happy.

But if they don't then I've been unselfish by picking FPL because the fans of all other teams will be happy United didn't win again 🙂

So the other day I changed my FPL password...ever since then I haven't been able to log into FFF. I have tried both my old password and my new one but neither work.

Nonsense. We already have Remy if we wanted to do that. Next season we will have Bamford as 3rd striker unless the club sees a PL loan is better for him (might happen if Boro are promoted).

Man UTD have got plenty of problems, the least of which is their strikers. They need 2 defensive midfielders and at least 1 more top quality defender. They also need more pace and quality in wide areas, Di Maria is the only wide player with real pace and quality. Januzaj is a very technical player but has no pace and would be better as a number 10, unfortunately they already have Mata who for some unbeknown reason keeps being dropped by LVG :-S

The other 10 are made up of:

        Pants Foster

        Clyne PVA Baird Bruce

        Sanchez ADM Lucas

        Barnes Kun

0 ITB, really doesn't look good.

Looks like I'll have to take a hit to salvage some points!

Maybe not the forum, but it has been burning my arse about the Qatar debacle.
Why can't the powerhouses of European football who create the wealth with their leagues, just boycott the world cup.
What would Europeans be watching and where would the money be if:
England, Italy, Holland, Germany, France, Portugal, Spain, Belgium, etc were playing club football when the world cup was on.
It reminds me of NATO who has no spine when having to make a serious decision.
I love my football but it would be a small price to pay if a Euro super tournament was arranged in the SUMMER of 2222. The likes of Brazil, Argentina and others would probably come and join the party.
We already have African Nations playing every 2 years and the clubs pay the price. I will never understand why the 1 country 1 vote counts when some nations are ganging together to milk the elite and get their own way. That's not democracy but Hipocracy.
sorry in advance for the rant!

Have to agree with you, the whole playing it in November/December to suit a country that I've never ever seen connected to football seems ridiculous.

I get that FIFA (supposedly) like helping countries develop by bringing them the world cup but I think they've gone a step too far in this case.

Helping developing countries is codswallop. One of the richest countries per capita on the planet. Why don't they just give the money to the poor of world football and stop interfering with our traditions. Bribes, Bribes and more Bribes. I am sorry to say it but where the bucks go it terms of football development is into the pockets of the few who control their little football association empires.

The fans could get together and create a world petition and Boycott watching games either being there or the media.
Anyone in the public eye says the wrong thing and they get pilloried. Stick Blatter in the deasert with no water.

I, and I'm English, don't see a problem with it. Other leagues all around the world that are not as powerful as the European leagues have always had to work around the usual world cup time. The Middle East has never hosted a world cup and the weather at that time of year will be great for players and fans alike.

Our Leagues will just have to adjust to it for one season.

The more worrying issue in my opinion is the world cup in Russia... How can Russia possibly be a good place to host a world cup? They're attacking the Ukraine and have huge political issues. Much rather go to Qatar the unstable Russie.

      Just my take.

      1. Eze Really?
        • 9 Years

Fair enough. Russia is just as bad and contrived for the same reasons. If they want to share the wealth then why is it FIFA cronies who are getting the real money. It stinks and everyone knows that.

Absolutely agree. The various European powers should do something like that at this point because nothing else will matter. Problem is that I seriously doubt they have the stones to do it.

This whole process from the bribing -- errrr, "bidding" process to now has been a laughable farce of epic proportions. Complete and total fail on an epic scale.
