The Weekend Team News

Swansea’s Bafetimbi Gomis is set for a spell on the sidelines through injury. Enner Valencia is available for the Hammers. Roberto Martinez is optimistic on Romelu Lukaku’s fitness ahead of the weekend. Brown Ideye has emerged as an injury concern for West Brom. Mario Balotelli is back in contention for Liverpool, while Mikel Arteta remains on the sidelines for the Gunners.

Swansea will be without forward Bafetimbi Gomis for around four weeks with the hamstring injury suffered against Everton. Meanwhile in more positive news, Garry Monk has confirmed that both Nelson Oliveira and Jefferson Montero are back in training to boost the Swans attacking options ahead of the weekend.

Alan Pardew revealed earlier this morning that Palace have the same squad as last weekend and reports no new injuries, which indicate Pape Souare has recovered from the knock that forced him off during the 4-1 win at Sunderland.

Roberto Martinez has revealed that Romelu Lukaku is looking good in training, and is optimistic on the Belgian’s chances of featuring at the weekend, should there be no further problems. Leon Osman is a doubt with the groin injury sustained against Swansea, though Martinez believes that the midfielder could recover in time to play at the weekend.

Enner Valencia is back in contention for West Ham after recovering from the foot problem that forced him off against Stoke last weekend.

Ahead of the FA Cup meeting with Reading, Arsene Wenger has confirmed that Jack Wilshere is available for selection, though fellow midfielder Mikel Arteta remains on the sidelines through a lack of match fitness. Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain is two weeks away from a return to action.

Tony Pulis has confirmed that forward Brown Ideye is a doubt to face Crystal Palace after sustaining a knee injury in the week. Elsewhere, winger Callum McManaman is available for selection once more, having turned out for the reserves in midweek.

Saints boss Ronald Koeman has again ruled Filip Đjuricic out of the weekend, though will welcome back defender Florin Gardos to the squad after overcoming his injury.

Sean Dyche has received a boost with news that both Ross Wallace and Steven Reid are set to be welcomed back into the squad having recovered from their respective injuries.

Mario Balotelli is in contention to take part at Wembley this weekend, having made a return to full training this week. Adam Lallana though, is expected to miss out once more as he battles with a groin injury.

Hull’s Gaston Ramirez is expected to make a return to training next week, having recovered from a recent hamstring injury. The Uruguayan was ineligible to play against parent club Southampton last weekend.

All this and more has now been updated in the Team News section ahead of tomorrow’s deadline. Keep an eye on our official Twitter Stream as breaking news unfolds.

I think normally, Mourinho would be quite content with a draw. But given the depleted the backline, he'll be smelling blood. Still expect us to put up a fight, but think Chelsea win 2-0/3-1

Like he did when Moyes had just been put in charge at OT? Or earlier this season when you were not so confident? Or even last week when it was vital to win against QPR? Fair enough all of them are away but they are typical Mourinho. True, i do think that the news gives Chelsea the edge and they are more solid at home but Utd are playing better atm. Will be closer than people think and i think both teams would be happy with 1 pt.

Mourinho gave Moyes too much respect, should've beaten us. Yes, as you said those were all away, hence not really comparable. Back the draw if you want, i think Chelsea win is far more likely and good value here, even as a United fan.

Oh it's set up for Chelsea to edge it, but i was pointing out that Mourinho has a history of not really going for it in any big match. I took the draw already. Good luck!

Ah fair enough. Yeah i just have no real confidence with all those defenders out now. 3 points an absolutely massive difference to 1 with so little games left. Good luck!

I'll be there. I have no real confidence with the way Chelsea have been playing, but this is what big games are all about. Yeah, huge difference, i just feel Mou is a don't lose first, win if you can manager in these games. Enjoy.

Which 3 though, don't want to double up in defence, forward line is too much of a risk

Really only leaves fabregas who was absolutely awful v qpr, yes he did manage a goal but based on how he has played the 2nd half of the season I wouldn't really want him

Before it all kicks off with RMWC next week I am going to put this out there now. In GW34 i will be benching Kane (sot) for George Boyd (LEI). RMT only has 0.5 dif between the players. It might be madness but I hope you can join me !

    wk33 squad

    Myhill
    Bertrand, Clyne, Ivanovich, Terry
    Downing, Blind, Silva, Hazard
    Vardy, Kane

    Mignolet, Lescott, Henderson, Giroud

Smalling wont keep a clean one and Rooney sounds like he is a midfielder again, and we all know how that turned out for FPL. Go for option 2, and when you decide to bring in a Gooner you can choose between Ozil or Ramsey if his form continues to pick up.

Here's my current squad. Need to field as many players as poss, only 6 points ahead of 2nd place in my ML!

    Krul (Lloris)
Clyne, Duff, Kos (O'Shea and Naughton)
    Hazard, Eriksen, Sanchez, Henderson (Philipps)
    Ideye, Kane, Aguero

Have 1FT (but happy to take a few hits...fortune favours the brave and all that!) have 0.7 itb.

All ideas worthwhile. Thinking of Sanchez-> Silva. Then Kos ->. Ivan for -4 hit. Should be able to field 10 players. Also tempted to bring in Murray for Ideye but not sure it's worth the total -8 hit. This blank game week crept up on me out of nowhere!

I've had a bit of a panic too, definitely worth getting in some chelsea boys for the DGW coming, so Kos for Ivan is a decent one, and maybe even worth Sanchez > Cesc if you really want to go bold. Then next maybe can look at Ideye>Vardy/Murray and look at a Leciester defender for Naughton.

      1. Lexi2014

Yeah one minute all the DGWs were ages away and now they're all hitting! Will do Kos to Ivan for sure. Will prob take the -4 for Sanchez to Silva. Then it's a question of being brave...do I take the extra hit?!

        How's your season been?

Blind and Clichy have royally screwed me by taking knocks..

My choices are to take a 8 point hit to replace them or WC early..

If I WC early I can switch two from my template and use FT to change one for DGW..

    Best laid plans >:(

Haven't asked in a while, but any help would be great:

    I've got 2FT and 3.2 itb

    A) Austin>Murray & Jenkinson>Ivano/Azpi or Cahill and save the difference
    B) Austin>Murray & save a ft
    C) Jenkinson>Dann & save or something else
    D) Something else? I've got Austin, Bruce, Sanchez, and Bellerin with a NGW

Would be great to have Giroud or even Costa as an option, but maybe i should settle for mids for those teams DGWs.

    My squad going into it:
    Heaton (Myhill)
    Bert Jenk Rose (Bruce Bellerin)
    Haz Silva Eriksen Ameobi (Sanchez)
    Kun Kane (Austin)

I'm in first by about 30 points and my rival has Ivano.
