The Weekend Team News

Swansea’s Bafetimbi Gomis is set for a spell on the sidelines through injury. Enner Valencia is available for the Hammers. Roberto Martinez is optimistic on Romelu Lukaku’s fitness ahead of the weekend. Brown Ideye has emerged as an injury concern for West Brom. Mario Balotelli is back in contention for Liverpool, while Mikel Arteta remains on the sidelines for the Gunners.

Swansea will be without forward Bafetimbi Gomis for around four weeks with the hamstring injury suffered against Everton. Meanwhile in more positive news, Garry Monk has confirmed that both Nelson Oliveira and Jefferson Montero are back in training to boost the Swans attacking options ahead of the weekend.

Alan Pardew revealed earlier this morning that Palace have the same squad as last weekend and reports no new injuries, which indicate Pape Souare has recovered from the knock that forced him off during the 4-1 win at Sunderland.

Roberto Martinez has revealed that Romelu Lukaku is looking good in training, and is optimistic on the Belgian’s chances of featuring at the weekend, should there be no further problems. Leon Osman is a doubt with the groin injury sustained against Swansea, though Martinez believes that the midfielder could recover in time to play at the weekend.

Enner Valencia is back in contention for West Ham after recovering from the foot problem that forced him off against Stoke last weekend.

Ahead of the FA Cup meeting with Reading, Arsene Wenger has confirmed that Jack Wilshere is available for selection, though fellow midfielder Mikel Arteta remains on the sidelines through a lack of match fitness. Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain is two weeks away from a return to action.

Tony Pulis has confirmed that forward Brown Ideye is a doubt to face Crystal Palace after sustaining a knee injury in the week. Elsewhere, winger Callum McManaman is available for selection once more, having turned out for the reserves in midweek.

Saints boss Ronald Koeman has again ruled Filip Đjuricic out of the weekend, though will welcome back defender Florin Gardos to the squad after overcoming his injury.

Sean Dyche has received a boost with news that both Ross Wallace and Steven Reid are set to be welcomed back into the squad having recovered from their respective injuries.

Mario Balotelli is in contention to take part at Wembley this weekend, having made a return to full training this week. Adam Lallana though, is expected to miss out once more as he battles with a groin injury.

Hull’s Gaston Ramirez is expected to make a return to training next week, having recovered from a recent hamstring injury. The Uruguayan was ineligible to play against parent club Southampton last weekend.

All this and more has now been updated in the Team News section ahead of tomorrow’s deadline. Keep an eye on our official Twitter Stream as breaking news unfolds.

Any Remy news? Does this team look G2G for the weekend?

    Krul
    Clyne - Alder - Morgan
    Hazard - Fab - Eriksen - Silva
    Aguero (c) - Kane - Remy

Ospina - Moses - McAuley - van Aaholt

    0FT, 2.3 in the bank

I'm looking for differentials for this weekend (1 Mid & 1 Att) but I am struggling to look beyond Bolasie & Vardy even though I have a budget of £17.4m to spend on the two.

    Any ideas?

    Hi folks!

Who would you go with this week before WC?

    a) Baines & Remy

    For next week:

    K. Davies / Panti
    Clyne / Azpi / Toby / Bellerin / Dawson
    Hazard / Ozil / Eriksen / Silva / Boyd
    Aguero / Kane / Remy

Will have 104.4m and 1 FT.

    A) Sterling for Eriksen for a FT.
    B) A + Henderson for Boyd for a -4. Probably sit out Kane or someone.
    C) A + Skrtel/Moreno for Bellerin for a -4. Sit out Toby.
    D) A+B+C for a -8.
    E) Any other ideas?

Would appreciate some thoughts. Obviously won't be doing anything right now, just trying to have a plan in mind.

I know I don't consider him either, just say that I want to check how the Liverpool play with him. I mean how does it affect Sterling for example.

Gerrard also in contension. Don't if he plays in Wembley but may have some minutes in DGW so Henderson wouldn't be so tasty - no pens, set piece and probably BPS

            its a -12

            Sanchez/Remy to Fabs/Murray

Then you still need to make 4 transfers if you want to get Schlupp Skrtel Sterling & Hendo

Im looking at doing the same. But maybe with Vardy & no Schlupp for -8

Yeah. It looks good, not ideal obviously because I'm getting rid of a Chelsea player this week for another. Fabs seems to have picked up form though + it means I can take a punt on Murray.

Yeah. I brought remy in last week. But i think his game time over the next 3 could be limited after the calf strain. Its not ideal. But we are both fortunate to have 2 FT & to get that side with only a -8 for DGW is pretty decent. Better going ahead. Also i want rid of sanchez his price is a killer & with Ozil & Rambo just as good options which will allow Murray/Remy > Giroud far easier.

Mané & Giroud -> Silva & Murray for my 2 FT gives me this team this week:

    Myhill
    Terry, Alderweireld, Rose
    Hazard, Silva, Eriksen, Boyd
    Agüero, Kane, Murray

I even have a sub in Baird.
Does this team look good or should I do any other move?

    Will WC next week.

At present, I'm 0.1 short of my ideal free GW34 transfers (Eriksen/Walters > Hendo/Sterling). Assuming there are no new injury concerns after this GW, should I do:

    A) Eriksen/Walters > Hendo/Coutinho
    B) Eriksen/Walters/Kane > Hendo/Sterling/Vardy (-4)?

with this team, my best use of transfer is (assuming Remy is fit):

    a) Krul out for a GK (Howard, Hart?)
    b) Mane out for Puncheon, bench Rose
    c) Mane out for Lennon, bench Rose
    or something else?

Got my WC, so one week only:

    Krul
    Baines Alder Terry Rose
    Silva Hazard Eriksen (Mane, Boyd)
    Aguero (c) Kane Remy.

For the next 3 weeks (DGW + QPR game after that). who would you rather have:

    A) Lovren
    B) Glen Johnson
    C) Neither

It's for a draft league so only these two options.

    1. goriuanx

      NEITHER.

      1. WHY ALWAYS MESUT?

Haha, I would usually say the same but shouldn't one of them be playing because of Sakho's injury? If so, that becomes a good punt for those weeks.

        1. goriuanx
          • 13 Years

I'd imagine Sakho would be back for QPR. Neither Lovren/Johnson are nailed

Damn. Hmm. Thought he was out a month? QPR game is on the 2nd of May, might be tough for Sakho to make it by then right?

Yup, apparently he's out for the QPR game and they're aiming to have him back for the Chelsea game.

Even if he's close around the QPR game, I doubt they risk it considering how big the next game would be.

Exactly, one of them, could be either. he'll with go 4 at the back with G Johnson, or 3 at the back, with a wing back.

Just did Naughton --> Schlupp to field 11 players, what are your opinions on the following 'problems' in my team:

    - Had to double up on wba (Myhill + Dawson)
    - What about the whole Clyne affaire?
    - Remy fit to play?

Will probably take a hit somewhere, but which problem is the most important?

    1. goriuanx
      • 13 Years

I wouldn't worry about doubling up. Clyne will probably play and RK has said he will I think (BBC Sport). Remy I guess we'll find out a little more at 12:30.

    Panti Krul
    Terry Fonte Tobby Schlupp PVA
    Hazard Silva Eriksen Ozil Boyd
    Remy Kane Aguero

    2 FT 3.4 ITB

My current plan is Fonte, Eriksen, Ozil -> Skrtel, Henderson, Sterling/Coutinho. I'll replace Ozil with a Liverpool player this week, which will leave me with 12 available players this week and 3 Chelsea, 3 Liverpool next week, without any hits.

Debating some more aggressive options for the DGW.

    A. Ozil -> Cambiasso this week and Fonte, Eriksen, Boyd -> Skrtel, Henderson, Sterling/Coutinho next week for -4.
    B. Panti/Krul -> Schmeichel and 3 Liverpool players for -4 next week.
