Fantasy Flutter – Gameweek 36

In our quest to outsmart Paddy this Gameweek, we’ve looked to Aston Villa’s red-hot frontman, Manchester City’s twinkle-toed playmaker and the Potters’ long-range specialist.

Our first bet of the weekend has us backing Christian Benteke to perpetuate his astonishing scoring streak. The Belgian hitman recorded ten goals in his last eight starts, bagging a brace last time out against Everton. Ally this with the fact that Villa’s opponents this week, West Ham United, have netted just four goals in the last eight Gameweeks, and Paddy’s 11/1 offer on Benteke to score two or more goals and Villa to keep a clean sheet looks worthy of a £3 investment.

Having drawn blanks in his previous five outings, David Silva is in the midst of a quiet patch on the goal front, yet a home tie against strugglers Queens Park Rangers serves as the perfect catalyst. The R’s have tallied one shut out in their last 10 and failed to score in two of their last three, encouraging us to take up Paddy’s 13/5 odds on Silva to score and City to keep a clean sheet. Indeed, we make this our bet of the week and part with a further £4.

Our final wager in this round of fixtures centres around Stoke City’s Charlie Adam as he gears up for Tottenham Hotspur’s visit on Saturday. The Scottish midfielder has been in prolific form of late, notching three goals in five starts. Meanwhile, the Lilyhwhites have not troubled the scoresheet in four of the past seven Gameweeks, giving us ample reason to capitalise on Paddy’s 12/1 offer for Adam to score and Stoke to keep a clean sheet, handing over our final £3.

    Would you do
    A) Ivan & Sterling ----> Stones and Sanchez? (for free) or
    B) Sterling ----> Ozil/Cazorla

    Have Terry and Giroud as well.

    Cheers

    Thoughts on my transfers?

    Courtois(Myhill)
    Terry Schlupp Moreno (PVA, Baird)
    Coutinho Hazard Mata Silva
    Aguero Vardy Giroud

    Courtois + Moreno + Coutinho—-> Adrian + Kolarov + Cazorla

    Just ditching Terry—>Kolarov and then Cout–>Caz could work, but Terry looks set to play the full season, whilst Courtois does not.

    Any other suggestions are more than welcome.

    Cheers

    @DeludedBrendan: If you take Chelsea, Arsenal, Man City and Man United out of the equation then we are actually 1st.

    That in my mind is progress.

      @DeludedBrendan:
      I'd rather go with a proven winger rather than gambling on an unknown.
      James Milner has scored 34 Prem Goals
      Memphis Depay has scored 0

    Repost bottom of prev page...

    I need to get this one right in order to catch my rival.

    Captain:

    A. DAVID SILVA - Home to QPR - 11/8 to score anytime. Likely provider for Aguero if he scores. Due a goal or two himself. Other attacking midfielders for City are out leaving Silva a good differential option. Should he be in amongst goals/assist he will likely pick up BPS points too.. along with his typical 1 YC as we have seen in recent weeks.Great option, but is it a little too punty? I hope not.

    B. CHRISTIAN BENTEKE - Home to West Ham. 6/5 to score anytime. West Ham have been pretty poor attacking wise and have leaked a few goals as of late, particularly when playing away. Benteke's hit the form we have been waiting for all season and seems unstoppable at present. On penalties and on fire. Only question is whether it can be maintained at such a productive rate? Also plays today at 3pm, and we all know what its like if your captain flops on saturday afternoon with Aguero, Snchez and Giroud cappers left to play on Sunday and Monday..

    C. OLIVIER GIROUD - Home to Swansea. 5/6 to score anytime. Arsenal are in great form, unfortunately Giroud isn't, Maybe thats a blessing in disguise as not many will captain him at all. He is due a goal having not score in his last few games and hopefully a goal or two can be the perfect intro for his DBL WK. I like the fact he plays last, on Monday Evening. However i made this mistake last GW captaining him.. He flopped, but fortunately Rambo got me 12 points. Do i continue the faith and give Giroud with the armband?

    A,B or C? Thoughts please.
