This week’s episode of the ScoutCast certainly doesn’t lack “Kahunas” but it does go without my nasal tones.

Another bout of man-flu got the better of me this week but, rather than can the episode, I allowed the lunatics to take over the asylum and run this nonsense without me. Granville and Jonty rise to the occasion, ably abetted by this week’s star guest, Jack Wain – previously number two in the world and still part of the pack giving chase to former guest, Simon March.

Jack makes his appearance just as his gutsy gamble to ignore the sure-fire Sergio Aguero captaincy backfires. Granville and Jonty analyse his brave fall from grace, while quizzing our FPL luminary on the Gameweek 37 double and the great Eden Hazard dilemma, all courtesy of another round of questions from you, the community.

      I think I prefer Gomez of those two, though I don't expect much of either. Having said that, of your options, I think your suggestion is reasonable.

        I'm definitely not keen on Vardy -> Wickham, but Cambi -> Gomez has potential. Would seem odd having more S'land players than Ars tho! Especially as I'm secretly hoping Sunderland do poorly, for the sake of my sorry newcastle.

          Jose has played Ivan at CB once in 2 seasons and that was an emergency.

          Ake won't play CB, that isn't his position and he's only 5' 10" tall. LB or CM if he starts.

          Christensen is a CB and quite highly regarded, he could easily get a start.

          Azpi - Christensen/Cahill - JT - Ake is my best guess.

            I disagree here. Ivanovic will play, imo. And he has played CB in a non-emergency, twice, as I recall.

            His time at Reading certainly backs up the assertion that Ake will either be LB or DM with a CB role very unlikely.

          Courtois more likely will play. Cech probably gets the last home game.

          Courtois to Ospina, Benteke to Giroud, play Fonte over Jones is what I'd do.

            No, I got Benteke for his 13 pointer against Everton. Sold Vardy immediately after the DGW.

              That's a delayed hit for Benteke. 😕

              Since the article the word coming out of SB is that Cech has been given permission to leave in the summer. I suspect he'll be given the last (Sunderland) home game as a goodbye but either is possible. I'd do Courtois to Ospina anyway.

              Sanchez has blanked in 8 of his last 11 PL games and 3 of his last 4. The only reason to fear Sanchez is his very high ownership, he's really no better an option than Ozil or Cazorla.

            I'm quite glad not to own him also ... he might well prove us wrong but the likes of Sanchez, Ozil & Cazorla are more likely to see 180 minutes. What they do with those minutes is an entirely different matter.

      The 2 best haul possibilities there are Kane v Hull and Hazard v Sunderland. Those favour (A).

      Hazard v WBA is doubtful however, that favours (B).

        Haz and Silva on final day scare me though along with Kane at home to Hull. Sigh....

          Well, I don't know how appearance points work on Sky.

          However on FPL scoring I'd take (A) over (B) even with a Hazard blank v WBA. I think the 4 games in (A) should outscore the 5 in (B).

          Ramsey would be more expendable if Wilshere plays imo.

          Taking Cazorla off would affect the fluidity of the team too much. Arsenal would be better if Wilshere comes on for Ramsey, Cazorla pushes up along the front 4, Wilshere drops back alongside Coq.

            I'm reluctent to take hits, but sometimes they are worth it. I've only taken 3 hits all season, one was bringing in Austin and (C) in the DGW, another was earlier in the season when I did Fletcher ---> Pelle (-4), Fletcher scored 2 points, Pelle scored 13 points, and ended up going on an amazing goal-scoring run. My 3rd hit was last week, to fund in Sanchez, although he blanked, part of the hit was bringing in Grealish, and look how he did.

            I'm not promoting the idea of taking hits, but sometimes (in my case, all the time) they do work out.

            In GW36, If I took 7 hits (+2FT) to bring in the players I didn't have from the following, I would've stayed static/gotten a red arrow?:

            I took 7 hits between GW's 4&5 and went from 800k to 1,305 OR by GW8. Although I probably take too many (54 xfers this year, some of em were mistakes), I'm still top 2k. I don't think it's up for debate that a well played hit can be hugely beneficial to replace deadwood/players who are checked out/injured/suspended.
