Sky Sports Focus – Fantasy Football Scout League Details

As we mentioned yesterday, the Sky Sports Fantasy Football game is now up and running ahead of the 2015/16 campaign.

After winning top spot in the League of Leagues for the past three seasons, we’re looking to defend our crown once again and hope to make it four times running this year.

For those playing the Sky Sports game, we’ve set up an official Fantasy Football Scout league – the name is FFScout and the pin number to join is 8009000.

Last season, we handed over a cool £1,000 to the Fantasy manager who finished at the summit of the Scout league and hope to offer prizes once again this year – which should be incentive enough to assemble a team and get involved.

Over the next few days, we’ll be rolling out Player Price List analysis articles, breaking down the options position by position and offering insight into each player’s potential.

Once the season gets underway, we’ll be bringing you hints and tips in our weekly Friday afternoon “Sky Sports Focus” articles, analysing the market trends and looking at transfer tactics for the Gameweek ahead.

Our regular contributor d1sable will again be at the helm to offer his expert advice – he’ll be looking for yet another top 100 finish after a storming end to the previous campaign.

We’ve set up a new community article to exclusively deal with Sky Sports Fantasy teams. Those looking to get involved with the discussion should click this link.

Not seeing Gomis in many teams considering Swansea have decent fixtures and he was in good form towards the end of the season

Had him in draft one, ditched him for better options. I think some of the cheaper options will do at least as well. Will be watching his early form though.

Anyone going with Darmian at 5.5?

Very very attacking from what I've seen.

That's what I'm currently on. 0.5 more of course, it involves Ozil over Walcott, but despite my Theo love I think that's possibly a blessing in disguise.

I'd like him but I may sacrifice him to try and fit in all of

      Ivan, Haz, Theo, Kun, Rooney

That would leave me with 4x 4.5s at best

still early stages Doos. We will have some indication before GW1

          Just throwing some ideas around

Ivan, Haz and Kun is definitely easily do-able though

so then it simply becomes a case of where your final big hitter goes

              defence, midfield or attack

atm one thing that may be feasible if Aguero won't play GW1 is to have Rooney, Deeney and a a budget or mid priced striker and 3 big mids

Come GW4 when you want Aguero you can then decide whether you ditch Rooney or one of the non Hazard big mids when form has become clearer

                  again, the 2 budget strikers

                  8.5
                  Ivan, Soaure/Ward, Huth/Morgan, Coates, Francis

                  Theo, Ramsey/Ozil/Silva, Haz, Ritchie, 4.5

Deeney, Rooney, Sakho (or anyone up to 8.5)

If you wanted to you could get Mata in the midfield and it means if you want Kun GW4 you can either sell Rooney or Mata and still have United attack if we're playing well enough to warrant having someone

I;d like Darmian but it's just not possible if you want all of these.

    Hello guys,

I understand it's a bit early for RMT's but any feedback is welcome - glaring errors, omissions, etc. which will put me on the right track now and avoid a late scramble to assemble a decent side.

    Ruddy / Hennessy

    Huth / O'Shea / Bassong / Mings / Targett

    Hazard / Sanchez / Walcott / Mane / Anya

    Aguero / Gomis / Deeney

I know Sanchez will definitely miss the first game of the season and possibly the next 2/3 according to Wenger so I'll change start with an Arsenal 8.5 mid and hold the funds for the subsequent transfer to Sanchez.

Is my defence ridiculously light? Hoping to get by for a while with rotations.

    Thanks.

I think cheap defender rotation can pull it of early this season, it's certainly what I'm going to try (If that's what it takes to get Aguero in my team) If it goes wrong, how would you plan to correct the problem? Wildcard? or 1/2/3 transfers with downgrades in midfield, and if so who?

      1. FFB
        • 12 Years
        8 years, 10 months ago

Yeah exactly, I'm going to try get away with it now when it's a bit more do-able rather than during the season and see if I capitalise on midfield points. If I'm getting steady 2 pointers and / or injuries I'll try fix it with 2 or 3 transfers. I should (hope to!) be carrying 2 transfers which might make it slightly easier to remedy. Walcott or Mane would be the ones to make way to free up funds.

    How's this? 🙂

    Schemical Fabianski
    Azpilicueta Koscielny Cedric Jenkinson Saylor
    Henderson Hazard Ramsey Sterling Fletcher
    Rooney Deeney Lukaku

Lukaku straight to Sakho after GW1.

Is it risky going with players who have Europa League?

    Had a thought.

Is it worth considering leaving Costa out of the early run of fixtures (bring him in post Arsenal)?

Would probably mean a front three of Benteke/Rooney/Deeney (all who have a better fixture set) whilst freeing funds for a tougher-looking midfield.

Or is this just barmy thinking?

OK, got myself a second draft with Aguero in, what are people's opinions on this?

    x / Hamer

    x / Coates or O'Shea / Bassong / Morgan / Francis or Mings

    Fabregas / Sterling / Ramsey / Henderson / Wanyama

    Aguero / Rooney / Sakho

Will have 10m ITB to fill the 2 gaps, my gut says Panti and a 5m defender. My plan is to have one defender and rotating pairs in defence and benching Wanyama.

I'm also still not decided on which Sunderland or Bournemouth yet, will pick closer to season start

    1. The_Socca_Philosopha

I don't like the idea of 2 Sunderland defenders, so maybe go with a Fabianski. Then I'd go with either Cedric or Toby A as your 5 mil def

      1. Claudio With A Chance Of Me…
        • 9 Years
        8 years, 10 months ago

Yeah 2 Sunderland defenders let me down last year ( I'd completely forgotten about that )

Fabianski was also on my mind as a good alternative.

Cedric? I'm not 100% sure who he is, and I'm not sure I believe the fuss about Alderwield, is it just because at 5.0 he is good value?

THIS IS THE BURNING QUESTION THAT WILL MAKE OR BREAK FPL:
Hazard vs Fabregas at the start.
Theres a clear downside of Hazard putting in his regularly good performances plus Pens.
Fab too deep. Not nearly enough goals.
    Thoughts?

I've got Fab at the moment, but that's purely due to balancing the budget. If I could free up the cash I'd go hazard every time. Fab just doesn't seem to score enough.

Fair point. I feel like dropping Hazard is too big a risk. Specially considering im paying almost the same for Costa who seems more dispensable because picks up silly cards/Falcao may eat his minutes

I play in a league that drafts players, so only one team can have any particular player (and we need managers, so let me know if you're interested).

I know there are many players ahead of him, but is Rooney in a better position this year given that the MU midfield has been invigorated and he's likely to lead the line most games?

Mert is good value, but as the season goes on will be rotated for Gabriel. Clyne bad opening fixtures, Liverpools new defence line up has had quite a few changes.
I don't think Cazorla is the strongest Arsenal MF, and there are better options for Fabregas, although plenty would disagree with me.

What is your front 3? I'm currently on Rooney (funds to pop in Aguero when I like), Sakho & Deeney. Can't help but feel it's too light. £2.5m itb, any ideas?

Just done a 7 way rotation ( 1 anchor of Chelsea Def) to find out what is the most effective/efficient GK/Def partnership for the 1st 8 weeks. The final results are based on price/points per game/ difficulty of opposition/ home record and away record last season and the best possible Home/away rotation.

    GK:
    LEICTER: S'land H, 2 3 , B;mouth A, Villa H, 6 , Arsenal H, 8
    S'LAND : 1 Norwich H, Swansea H, 4 5 B'mouth A, 7 Wham H

    DEF: (Assuming Chelsea Anchor)
    Chelsea: Swan H, City A, WBA A, Palace H, Everton A, Arsenal H, Newc A, S'hamp H
    Lpool : 1 , B'mouth H, 3 , Wham H, Norwich H, Villa H, 8
    Bmouth: Villa H, 2, 3 Leicter H, 5 S'land H, 7 Watford H
    W ham : 1 , Leicter H, Bmouth H , 4 Newc H, 6 Norwich H, 8
    Norwich: Palace H, 2 Stoke H, 4 B'mouth H, 6 7 Leicter H

That's a pretty back 7 for the starting 8 games

Updating an earlier post - I've been looking at 3-way rotations today, and thought I'd share some findings.

Price structure each is 5m - 5m - 4.5m, so these might be handy for people going with just one of CHE/ARS defender.

        Thanks mate - appreciate it.

May not be of use for everyone - admittedly it doesn't help those look for a cheapie defence - but I'm hoping it provides food for thought at the very least!

Thinking along that type of system which do you think is the best rotation

To be honest quite a few of them appealing. If it helps you though, they're listed in order of what I perceived to be the best fixtures.

Why are we asking for marks out of 10, wouldn't marks out of 15 make more sense?

This. Maybe marks out of 45 or 60. What about 105?

    Who would you choose:

    A) Cedric

    B) Jenkinson

West Ham have better fixtures, but Cedric might be more attacking

      A. I think Cédric will have more clean sheets, especially since Southampton have better fixtures.

Could Joshua King deliver some points this year? He is set as MID, but could play as an FWD. Probably since B'mouth are playing with only one striker. Played alongside Wilson against Philadelphia Union? King scored, but I'm not sure if they played their usual 4-2-3-1-tactic? is there anyone here who has seen the game? =)

Anyone know how good the AVL left back is? Jordan Amavi from Nice ? Signed for 12Mil euros.

On that this is my team for the moment.

    Ruddy - Myhill

    Ivan - Cedric - Prodl - Francis - Targett

Haz - Mane - Sterling - Ritchie - Fletcher (thinking of going Payet after gw1)

    Costa - Roon - Deeney

    Any help would be great.

    Ruddy (Guzan).
    Cédric, Mings, Huth, (O'Shea), (Prodl).
    Hazard, Sterling, Mata, Henderson, (Gomez).
    Giroud, Rooney, Wilson.

Goalkeepers rotating depending on who has the better fixture
Cédric will always play whilst Mings and Prodl rotate as do Huth and O'Shea.
The first 4 midfielders and the first 2 strikers will always play. Then Gomez and Wilson will rotate depending on who has the better fixture.

Alrighty, here's my first draft (by no means final!)

    GK: Pants and Butland

DEF: Schlupp, Jagielka, Kolarov, PVA, Hutton

MID: Haz, Hendo, Puncheon, Surman, Albrighton

    FWD: Aguero, Rooney, Ings

Immediate thoughts? I'd like to get Walcott in there but no guarantee of starts..as for figuring out the Man Utd midfield I give up!
