Season Predictions 2015/16 – The View From The Scouts

Welcome to our annual attempt to select the best and worst options in the Fantasy Premier League game and assess how the forthcoming Premier League season will pan out.

Unlike previous attempts, last year saw a number of successful predictions from the Scouts. Granville was correct in predicting a stellar debut season for Diego Costa, Danny Ings and Gylfi Sigurdsson, while Jordan Henderson rewarded my faith in him as a budget midfielder.

Naturally we didn’t get it right all the time and there were some noticeable horror predictions. Andre Schurrle’s departure from Chelsea meant Mark’s guess that he would be the year’s best differential proved ill-fated. Nikica Jelavic, meanwhile, failed to live up to the hype generated by Ryan as being the top scoring budget forward of the year.

Here’s the link if you want to remind yourself just how reliable our soothsaying powers can be.

Hopefully in our latest predictions for the forthcoming Premier League our embarrassing picks will be consigned to the past for good.

    Best goalkeeper combo??

I've got Cech and Stekelenburg at the moment, but it seems some of that money could go elsewhere.m

      IHard to say.

I've gone for Fabianski and McCarthy (with Cedric as SOU def) mainly because I don't want to rotate every week, but I'm very seriously considering Stekelenberg and then changing Cedric to Williams.

Saints opening fixtures look more likely to harvest more cleanies than Swansea, but Swansea can keep cleanies against anyone too.

I'm almost there I think. Have a couple of little decisions left.

    Myhill/ Butland
    Azpilicueta/Cedric/Mertesacker/Huth/Targett
    Hazard/Walcott/Mane/Depay/Westwood
    Rooney/Benteke/Wilson

    Currently deciding between
    A) Depay, Azpi and Mert
    B) Milner/7 mil, Ivan and Kos

    A or B gents? Can't pick.

    A) Mane, Ritchie, Kane

    B) Ozil, Chadli, Pelle (have Walcott)

If I could afford Kane I'd have A.

      But I can't, so I have B.

What are Gomez chances of being in the first 11 early in the season?

Just had a last minute wobble and swapped Lukaku for Wilson, to free up money for Aguero...

    Schmeichel/Butland

    Azpi, Cedric, Cresswell (Richards, Wisdom)

Sterling (C), Walcott, hazard, Sinclair (Wanyama)

    Wilson, Rooney, Pelle.

thought sterling would be a decent shot as most people have hazard or Rooney?

Is it safe to have Barry from EVE as a 5th mid?

The high Wanyama ownership says to me that his price is only going to fall.

Which is the best 5th mid?
