It always feels strange benching a premium defender. hopefully azpli doesn't keep a clean sheet away to city...

Bench Azpil and don't look back. City will score.

Of course it depends on whom else is starting for you.

Totally agree. Azpi benched while Targett Williams and Coates start

To be fair Man City away is prob the only fixture i would bench him for, Arsenal, Man U, Lpool etc i would consider playing him

Only the city fixture for me as well.

It may only be one. But it's hitting the onion bag at the Etihad

            payet - 0.5m too expensive

Hendo played very deep. If you want Liverpool cover, I'd get Milner, but he didn't show anything against Stoke...

Only saw bits of the game. I was interested about Milner cause I chose him over Hendo. I think both a reliable 150 pts per season.

I have to agree mate! Convinced he's going to prove his doubters wrong at the weekend. We all signed him for a reason, and we're panicking now after one week!?

Before his last couple of injury strewn seasons, this lad scored 193 points, while only playing 2286 mins!! That's only 66.8% of the time!

I'd take that points return for 9M all day!

His PPG are amazing when he plays. No points earned from the bench though. Even if he plays this week there's a chance he gets benched the week after, so many options at Arsenal.

I got rid of the headache but good luck to you!

Once the standard Arsenal injuries kick in I'll look again though.

Will Oxford keep his place though? Like the punt on the other Ox, but a few too many uncertainties for my liking (Bellerin, Theo, Oxford,Ox,maybe even Cedric). Hope it goes well for you though. Risk deserves reward!

Is this about Sanchez or walcott? I think the comparison being used is that Sanchez was subbed once but still played the next two while people ogt rid.

Thing is walcott wasnt even selected in a first 11 when Sanchez wasnt playing as well. Not saying Walcot wont start, have no idea, but if thats the comparison finding it hard to match it up

Maybe not, but perhaps don't start by calling everyone else amateurs.

Secondly you start off going on about Sanchez and then talk about Walcott as though they're 2 players moulded into one.

            It's a comparison of situations.

People are ditching Theo because of game time, but Sanchez was pulled at half time against Everton and benched against Villa last year.

Ah okay, I see from your post above. So saying that just because Walcott was benched doesn't mean he won't become a regular starter.

Never a nailed starter, but I do think the rush to ditch him is hasty.

I said 12 months ago that I thought Sanchez and Theo would be a good partnership, and I stand by that. He think Theo could oust Giroud as first choice.

Im torn between Chadli, Ayew and Lens.

Lens and Ayew are the most popular picks around here, but are unproven at this level.
Are probably popular because of GW1 performance. Didn't hear much about them pre-season.
Chadli didn't do much at OT, but he knows what it take. Is proven. Scored some goals pre-season.

They all have pretty much the same fixtures, and my understanding is that they are as nail as you can get in their team.

    Thoughts?

Would say Chadli is the safest pick.

I agree, and I like safety. But i feel Lens and Ayew are more explosive.

      Dangerous the unproven fallacy

Find players that look ready made for it and with current form. Yaya is an example of past form holding up but the likes of a Charlie Austin or Harry Kane are great examples unproven delivering

observation was mainly due to pre-season form. he looked decent against utd and i would see him as the best pick of the three. personally, i'd spend an extra 0.5 and bring in payet...

Payet would not let me bring in Aguero for Rooney without hits. And I have Sakho.
            Would you still go Payet?

if you're planning aguero for rooney without hits it isn't worth it. chadli and ayew is a toss of a coin - both have great fixtures and are playing in advanced attacking roles.

Yes. it cant go much wrong with any of them I guess.

Btw i like your analyse of Ayew/ Payet.
If budget wasnt an issue Payet would be straight in.

Since Advocaat joined last year, they did well defensively.

Bar a blip against Palace (4-1) and a loss against Chelsea, they conceded 3 goals in 7 games, with 4 clean sheets. Pretty impressive, even if it was in part helped by Panti.

His role for England isn't the best use of his talents, but it at least keeps him out of trouble.

"This week I was finally training with the whole squad, and I'm looking forward to giving a slight headache to the manager to show that I'm ready to play," Obiang told the club's website (www.whufc.com).

"Mainly my injury was fatigue, but I didn't realise at first. I had a little bit of pain, but I kept training and may have overdone it a bit.

"It was just as a precautionary measure that I wasn't ready for the Arsenal match. I could have been, but I feel good now, and it's all good."

Fair enough lads will leave it be for now. God hope I'm never in such bad position I NEED to use it though! Might be right with end of the season, high team value, but I think I'll nearly always have a cheap 5th mid in any wildcard team

Who should I go with in defence this week?
    Merte - Cedric - Azpil - target - Clyne

I was thinking about dropping Azpil as they're against City bring in Cedric for the Everton fixture

Before the season started people were all for Henderson or Milner.

Now they at home to Bournemouth everyone ignoring them annd wanting Ayew and Payet
Just shows how fickle people are

Albrighton is a good 5th mid option. Pointed that out in pre-season, he'll get starts and offers decent attacking threat. Not bad for 5m

I thought it was a reaction to how deep Hendo and Milner were playing, rather than anything else.

It will surely be different at Home to Bournemouth than away at stoke

That was away at the Britaannia though. A very tough place to go.

And when Can starts, they will likely have more licence to get further up the field.

Yep looks a good match for the Milners Clynes and Bentekes to do something

No argument though that we've had a resurgence of really interesting mid priced mids into the leagues

      Ayew
      Payet
      Lens
      Shaqiri
      Mane
      Mahrez
      Ritchie
      Cabaye/Bolasie

Depends if you're keen on the big fish small pond (number 10s and wingers on set everything for their smaller club, OR seek bit of quality coverage from the big 5-6 teams)

Not true, otherwise I would have started with one of them. Ended up going for Chadli instead.

Payet in now though! Kneeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee jerk! (+fixtures).

I'm thinking Mane is a decent captain option and I'm on WC so could choose pretty much any player I want. Rooney and Tekkers are the favourites but that doesn't mean their the best choice.

Which 3 should I play this week?

    Bassong (SUN - A) | Huth (WHM - A) | Mert (CRY - A) | Cresswell (LEI - A) | Targett (EVE - H)

Looking at the All Out Attack Option.. 2-5-3

Bentalab home v Stoke or Azpil away v City

    Cedric/Williams my 2 defenders.

Bentaleb or Wanyama of the world never an option for 2-5-3

You need to wait until you have an attacking player as your 5th mid like a Mahrez or Richie
