Fantasy Football Scout Cups – Ninth Round Draws

This evening we reveal the results from the eighth round of our cup competitions and also look at Gameweek 31’s ninth round draws – this sees the conclusion of the Members Cup VI, whilst the Fantasy Football Scout Cup XII reaches its semi-final stage.

With a score of 68 Leon Harris secured a semi-final place in the Fantasy Football Scout Cup XII. He defeated Fumi and will face konman, whose score of 71 was enough to overcome a tough Round Eight encounter with 3,612nd-placed CB8.

Placed at 7,284th, Leon is the highest-ranked semi-finalist and is having his best season yet, currently beating his highest finish, in 2013/14, of 16,930. This has come at a cost, though, as he has already spent his second wildcard and bench boost chip.

David Silva will be a key differential for Leon going into his semi-final clash and although he has two free transfers, one is likely to be used to offload crocked Manchester City defender Vincent Kompany.

Konman has a rank of 37,463rd and a strong pedigree as well. He is now in his eighth Fantasy Premier League season and already has one top 5,000 rankings finish under his belt, achieved in the 2012/13 season. Mesut Ozil is among his key differentials and he also has two free transfers available.

The second semi-final will be between community regular Numb, who saw off Youth Hostelling w/Chris Eubank in Round 8, and Tap, who conquered Nickofoz.

Numb is the favourite in this semi-final with two top 1,000 finishes in a sensational seven-year FPL career that has seen him finish outside the top 10,000 just once. Currently ranked 35,190th, he only has one free transfer in Gameweek 31 and is another that is likely to get rid of Kompany.

Tap will be no pushover. This is his fourth FPL season and in 2014/15, he finished 58th in the overall rankings. Currently ranked 38,464th, he is likely to mirror Numb’s expected move by using his free transfer to ditch the City captain.

The full Fantasy Football Scout Cup XII Round 8 results can be found here, while the semi-final draw can be found here.

In the Members Cup, Ola Svanheld’s used his triple-captaincy wisely with Harry Kane’s 39 points bringing in a huge score of 91 and leaving his semi-final opponent Space Cadete, who scored 58, for dust. Ola earns a final clash with community veteran Rasping Drive, who beat GOB in his semi-final.

Ola’s rank of 22,301 makes him the favourite in the final, although he is likely to have to use his only free transfer on removing Kompany. He could also opt to use his remaining bench boost chip or second wildcard.

Rasping Drive is ranked 138,554th and will have to call on his vast experience of eight seasons’ worth of playing FPL, which has included a top 500 finish in 2009/10. He also only has one transfer available but with no Kompany in his team there are no pressing moves to make, which means he could take the opportunity to select a differential punt to see him over the finish line. Like Ola, he also has the bench boost chip at his disposal.

The full Members Cup Round 8 results can be found here, while the final draw can be found here.

In both cup competitions the winner will receive a £200 Amazon Voucher, with the runner up getting a £100 Amazon Voucher. If you’re looking for more information on the cup schedule and prizes available, click this link for a more thorough rundown.

Hi all, quick question. Assuming you're planning on playing your WC in GW 33, wouldn't it make more sense to play it in GW 32 so you could carry your free transfer over from 33 to 34. This gives you 2 frees to handle the blanks in 35.

    1. George Sillett
      • 8 Years
      8 years, 1 month ago

Only issue here is greater potential to pick up injuries

Good point. I've got a lot of ground to make up so its worth that risk. I need to have as many dgw ayes as possible for 34 and 37, and no blanks in 35.

      Not a bad call.

I was just thinking the same, also because of fixtures for my team in gw32 which aren't great either

        • Fantasy Football Scout Member
        • 14 Years

Then you could save your free transfer in 35 and have two in 36, to get up to speed for 37.

        1. JÆKS ⭐

Indeed, I like the idea behind your reasoning

    4. rozzo
      • 10 Years
      8 years, 1 month ago

If you play wildcard in 33 and save in 34 you get two frees in 35 anyway.

What exactly are you going to do with two frees in 34?

      1. JÆKS ⭐
        • 9 Years
        8 years, 1 month ago

ManU's fixtures aren't great befor gw 33 so I guess bringing in 1 or 2 ManU players is what I would do with the FT then.

Leicester vs Saints and Liverpool vs Spurs in gw 32, I guess most of us will have some players in these fixtures, would like to get rid of them for some players like Sanchez vs Watford, Rondon vs Sunderland....

      2. JÆKS ⭐
        • 9 Years

Going with Azpilicueta for AVL and SWA and swap to Smalling won't be such a bad idea for a FT

Come down to benching one of:

Dawson (NOR), Toby (BOU), Alli (BOU), Vardy (cry)

I'd rather bench Toby considering Spurs were poor against Villa despite the CS, and Bournemouth are very good at scoring even in away games
