Double Gameweek 33 Confirmed for Palace and Everton

The Premier League have this afternoon confirmed a new date for Crystal Palace’s home clash with Everton. The pair will now go head-to-head at Selhurst Park on Wednesday April 13, meaning they will play twice in Gameweek 33.

Palace will host Norwich prior to the Toffees’ visit, whilst Roberto Martinez’ men also face a trip to Watford beforehand.

Both clubs now face back-to-back double Gameweeks in 33 and 34 before being handed a blank the following weekend due to their FA Cup semi-final date.

Everton also have to play twice in Gameweek 37 (lei &sun), handing them a trio of doubles in the final seven rounds of fixtures. Although just one of those six matches across their doubles is at Goodison, investment in Romelu Lukaku is set to intensify – nine of the Belgian’s 18 league goals this season have arrived on the road. The likes of Ross Barkley and Aaron Lennon will also hold extra appeal in light of the announcement.

Interest in Palace’s prospects will also be on the up, though they then face back-to-back trips to Arsenal and United in double Gameweek 34 prior to their blank. Furthermore, the Eagles have scored just 16 times in front of their own fans – only three sides have netted less – and have lost six on the bounce at Selhurst Park.

The confirmation perhaps adds a little more weight to the idea of wildcarding in Gameweek 33 now as we look to take advantage of both clubs’ schedules. With many still holding Bench Boost and Triple Captain Chips, today’s news just made things a little more interesting.

      On WC:

      A) Koscielny and Lanzini
      or
      B) Monreal and Lennon
With Lennon -> Lanzini before DGW34.

I'm an owner and have been monitoring him closely. Kosc and Bellerin are a lot more nailed on. Monreal misses the occasional game in fixture congestion and I don't think he's worth the risk with Gibbs lurking.

Both Monreal and Bellerin have been rested once this season, either could be rotated with Gibbs/Chambers but i dont think either are ahead of eachother in terms of nailedness. Safest route would be Koscielney if he stays fit.

Can go Barkley and Robles - DDG

Monreal's rotation risk is no greater than Koscielny's injury risk, so that's a toss up.

Yep - love those cheapie keepers.

Robles is more easily benched for GW35. Not a great fixture for Elliott but maybe some save points.

Yes that is my current plan. They rotate quite well until the end of the season. And Robles is cheapest Everton defensive option.

Lukaku (SOU, liv) or Martial (AVL, CPL)?

DGW34 only. I'll have Lukaku in 33 rest assured.

Ok so not as simple as I thought

          Current pre-DGW33 WC team is

          DDG - Elliot
          Rojo - Bellerin - Gabriel - Sakho - Simpson
          Ozil - Payet - Mahrez - Firmino - Lanzini
          Kun - Lukaku - Kane

          What to do
          1) Stick with just Lukaku for DGW33

          2) Elliot -> Robles
          (no keeper for GW35 tho)

          3) DDG Lanzini -> Robles Lennon
(Lennon obvious, but MU got better defense than Everton; altho worse fixture bar GW34
Extra money to upgrade Simpson -> Fuchs too)

          4) DDG Lanzini Firmino Kane -> Robles Barkley Coutinho Sturridge
(To fit in this Barkley fella, although not keen losing Kane for the next 2,
would like to monitor Sturridge vs Martial vs Kane for 3rd slot)

Anyone still planning a 36 WC following the DGW33 news? The best I can do I think, is have 3 DGW players for GW33 and 10 for GW34, but it would mean no Liverpool players.

          Something like this:

          Gameweek 33:
          Forster
          Coleman*, Bellerin, Fuchs
          Mahrez, Barkley*, Payet, Ozil
          Aguero, Vardy, Lukaku*

          Gameweek 34:
          De Gea*
          Coleman*, Bellerin*, Dawson*
          Mahrez, Barkley*, Payet*, Ozil*
          Aguero*, Welbeck*, Lukaku*

          Decent plan?

Barkley will either explode or get you 2 pts a game, Welbeck might not be first choice by then. Mahrez will be on the bench for me but Im playing the BB chip.

I still like Barkley over Lennon though personally, seems more nailed on and like you say, can be explosive. That 3rd striker spot will be either Welbeck, Martial or Rashford I guess, depending on who looks nailed at that point.

Ruddy is a far superior GK than Rudd - but was just out of form.

Robles and Howard are much of a muchness, so it's his until he makes a mistake / sentiment takes over.

Palace are the worst team in the league right now, dgw33 is followed up by dgw34 away to United and Arsenal and then blank in 35. Not a single Palace player is worth bringing in imo.
