What's your thoughts on Swansea defence, will they keep on playing well?

Remember they were bad some parts of last season and Williams is gone no.

Yes try not to be too obvious when posting them. Maybe link a table and say "Cor blimey, look who's number 2 here". Or "Flipping heck, how good is that fella who's name rhymes with solero?" That sort of thing.

I think both arsenal and Sunderland are more likely to score. Arsenal usually do and have to come out and win, as do foxes really so expect that game to be quite open.

Sunderland at home with new manager, will want to impress. Derby match.

Stoke look a bit rusty, light up top. That said don't think city have sorted defence out yet so tricky. I wouldn't put money on any of them keeping clean sheet. But I think Stones has the best chance.

That said Morgan goal threat is tempting me...

        1. Hurrikane
          • 7 Years
          7 years, 8 months ago

Yeah only reason I listed Morgan was goal threat, nearly a given they'll concede after seeing them without Kante against a broken Hull side, the question is how many.

I wouldn't rule Stoke out based off the game against Middlesbrough, especially at home.

With that said you have a convincing point about Sunderland. You've probably made the right call.

GW2 MUN-SOU: Shaw & Tadic. No worries, most seems to think that it's a no-brainer to field both.

GW4 MID-CRY: Ramirez & Souare. I think this could be a classic situation where many would start to hesitate fielding both just because they are facing each other. (BTW I have better options in that GW)

I see often a lot of comments worrying about playing defender against owned midfielder/forward. This is a worry that I rarely understand. I would personally worry about that only if I was chasing at the end of the season or if I tried to have a decent rank in some certain GW. But in Classic league, I don't usually get it.

Hi guys, i am new at this place...

Not sure going on a 442, stay in 343 or maybe benching two mf!

    Foster
    Terry, Stones, Kone, Amat
    Lamela, Hazard, Firmino, Redmond
    Ibra, Kun, Gray

Sure on the bench: Heaton, Friend, Fletcher
Today i think Redmond on the bench is the best option?!?

Amat and Kone have great home fixtures. Terry and Stones on the bench??

Play Redmond. Certainly play Gray. United will still give opposition chances and are slow with blind back there.

Tough which of the defenders to drop granted. Probably stones or Kone.

Yeah, Terry is the better choice than Stones but i think Stoke is not sure to score against City.

Kone and Amat are nailed in my team this GW.

Redmond can possibly score in Old Trafford but Gray & Firmino can do also in their match against each other.

I haven't read the article because I'm not a member yet this year but I'm guessing because of the picture that Townsend posted some big numbers. I think this illustrates a problem with a purely stats based approach to fpl. If you actually watch Townsend he's going to constantly post big numbers especially with shots at goal but the quality of his shots are terrible most of the time. Think he may flatter to deceive.

Yep, fair one. The fixtures are definitely appealing and you do have to shoot to be able to score. I'm sure one of his speculative efforts will fly in sooner or later and an England call up will be mooted!

    2. Yankee Toffee
      • 9 Years
      7 years, 8 months ago

Yeah, he and Coutinho are kind of an "approach with caution" fpl player because of their shots from distance. They are usually outside the penalty area, but hey if you don't shoot, you can't score...

He is a player who will consistently go 2 2 2 12 2 over a five week period. He'll average out about 4 points a match. Rough with the smooth.

I have Heaton in goal and I was really keen to start Foster in goal. With him rising I'm worried I won't get him in now! It's just that I was eyeing up Schlupp and don't want to double up on baggies defenders. It now looks unsure if Schlupp will even go?! Is it worth sticking with Heaton for the season? He did score 2 points for saves made!

Worse comes to worse I suppose Evans is still there if Schlupp doesn't arrive. It's just I think Foster may score more than Heaton, he will play well against top 6 teams too. Not sure if Heaton will keep clean sheets against them.

        1. Grand Thibauto
          • 9 Years

Foster got a CS against palace, yes. Myhill+Foster combined got 83+56 last season which is 139(With 11 CS). Heaton alone got 150 with 10 CS in his only season. And now with more save points than that season, he is surely gonna better his stat on paper. Lets see, though. Shouldn't rush on a GK transfer.

Myhill+Foster's 139 is from 38 games which is 3.65 per game. Foster already got 10 the first match day. This point may increase. But it should be around the 3.7-3.8 mark. Heaton got 4 anyway. We should just wait

Collins is sure to keep his spot for WHU with a performance like that right?

That was a average performance tbf. Costa scored from under his foot. He made quite a few mistakes at times except for the goal which was classy.

A decent placeholder may be Byram who was subbed in after Antonio's sub-par performance. With Cresswell out for a decent time, Byram might be the West Ham cover to get in. Need assurance, however.

He put in quite a few excellent performances last season but still got dropped when Ogbonna and Reid returned. I wouldn't get him.

What to do with Schmeichel? Stick or change to Foster?

    Schmeichel
    Evans - Stones - Shaw
    Hazard - Firmino - Townsend - Tadic
    Kun(c) - Kane - Gray

    Jaku - Friend - Amat - Fletcher

    Good to go?

    Or do Schmeichel -> 4.5 & Kane -> Ibra

Just play Jaku. Save transfer. And amat over stones! Miles better fixture.

Give Kane home against crystal palace before you consider letting him go, let alone taking hits.

      Consider Amat over stones

Aiming for top 10k, or at least top 100k, and want to win all my mini leagues this year.

Dreaming of a top 1k finish, because it would make my season history look pretty cool, with the last seasons being bettered every year by a factor of 10.

I haven't looked at the transfer in stats but I think it would be pretty dumb if he did based off a lucky free kick.

Which is the most reliable price change site? Thinking of doing Højbjerg (copy pasted his name) > Capoue purely for team value

Why? Højbjerg didn't start so I'm assuming he's due for a fall, while Capoue scored so the casuals will push his price up, no?

    What to do with Ayew?

    A) Bench & play Stones / Friend / Capoue. Lets me tinker with 2 FT next week

    B) Ship for Ramirez / Lamela / 8.0m mid

    Thanks

You would have to take a hit for that unless you on wildcard. So probably wait one more week.
