Dugout Discussion

The Dugout Discussion – Southampton vs Burnley

Sunday’s events conclude at St Mary’s as Southampton play host to Sean Dyche’s Burnley.

The Saints will be seeking a fourth consecutive clean sheet in the Premier League, a seventh in a row in all competitions.

Visitors Burnley will need to improve their attacking threat in order to threaten that record. The Clarets have scored just five goals from their seven matches, creating three big chances – the fewest in the Premier Leauge.

The Saints attack has disappointed with just seven goals scored in their seven matches. However, the statistics show that they have the potential to improve on that record in this one: Claude Puel’s side have produced a shot on goal every 4.8 minutes at St Mary’s – only Liverpool have been more threatening in home matches this season.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

As An Austin and Heaton owner that game went as well as could of hoped, 18 points off the pair. 5th green arrow in a row and predicted up to 70k with firmino left

would you rather choose to have

    a) Snodgrass
    b) Allen

I've put both in, but I'd choose Allen, hulls team attacking stats are the worst in the league so far.

Any alternatives to Walcott in the 7.8m or lower range? Feel like I'm going to want to transfer Walcott out in GW 11 anyway, so it'll be a waste of a transfer, bringing him in and taking him out.

Arnautovic looked pretty good yday. Talking my own book as brought him in though!

I need to watch highlights but for some reason, I always feel Arnie is more of an assister than a goalscorer. Plays too wide for me.

Not really. Look at last season's stats, 11 goals and 6 assists. Heatmaps show him to play pretty narrow and high up the park, so might just be some misconception.

Yeah, I don't watch Stoke games, and if I do it's mostly against the better teams, where they do a lot of defending. That may be clouding my judgment.

Not transferring him out. May not be able to get him in before the Champs League game since I have exact cash and Antonio seems to be dropping too.

I most probably will, but been already burned by early transfers this year when Carroll got injured after I brought him in. Hope it explains my skepticism.

Hang on for as long as possible. You might well avoid another Walcott rise/Antonio drop until after the CL game.

It'll be 30 mins or so. I'd expect Vokes to lose theBP due to disposessions - so think it'll be Austin 3, Redmond 2, Heaton 1.

Deffo only just discovered the "Stats" tab on FPL website. Pretty handy to have stats by player for shots, through balls, crosses, clearances, blocks etc.

Makes transfers a little more informed if you're a cheap scumbag like me and can't stretch to FFS membership...

    Which is the better option?

    A) Son (Form, decent fixtures, possibly pens till Kane is back, Spurs rotation)

    B) Siggy (form, WAT & stk next 2, pens, Up top in False 9)

Have Walcott, Arnie 4 YCs so staying away from him rigth now.
    Appreciate your thoughts!

Very tempted by Siggy but Son is the more sensible pick of the two.
Siggy definitely not nailed at false nine. Obvs see Borja starting soon with Siggy probably behind him.
