The ScoutCast – Episode 202 – Delirious

Hands up, this ScoutCast is a bit scruffy.

Signed off work and delirious with man flu, we had to coax Granville to keep him from his sick bed. Fortunately, the fact he had a decent Gameweek helped persuade him.

However, he did insist on an early kick-off, with no pre-match warm-up. So Jonty and I were ill-prepared and it also meant that, head frazzled by a Lemsip overdose, Granville forgot to lock his children in the cupboard before we started.

Imagine the horror when they wandered in to hear Granville gloating about Yannick Bolasie.

Of course, you don’t have to imagine – you can join Jonty and myself as we risk contracting Granville’s affliction in order to talk about Fantasy Football for an hour.

Steered by another round of community questions, we also dip into Stoke assets, the captaincy, attacking defenders and, inevitably, with his transfers out stats climbing quicker than Granville’s temperature, we discuss Aguero’s fading star.

If you can bear to brave the chaos of this latest germ-ridden episode, then you can view the Google Hangout version, first published on our YouTube channel, in the second player below.

Be sure to subscribe to our YouTube channel for news on future live episodes.

You can restrict your sensory experience of Granville’s cold to just audio by clicking here or streaming using the first player.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

If Cazorla is out, surely we cannot be captaining Sanchez?

He controls the play and passes it to the wings, and when he didn't play last week, Arsenal didn't even score a goal.

Also, with Giroud/Ramsey coming back, won't the attacking lineup change?

Giroud will get more playing time now that Perez is out and soon Sanchez will go the wings, iwobi will be dropped and Giroud will start up front. Then there's Ramsey.

    Anyway, I probably captain Lukaku

Hey AZ, does your point about rolling the transfer mean you'd have benched Antonio?

I'd do Antonio to Shaqiri probably at this point in time, given Stoke's fixtures and Arnie being on 4ycs. Less proven but seemingly on form, with the stats to back it up. Chadli comes in for me when they are playing Hull in a few weeks (think GW12?) so you can do a straight swap then!

Yes was planning on benching Antonio this week and play Capoue (have Williams).

If you wana roll your FT (I need to before the international break - I've got a few bad fixtures next week for my Stoke players, for example, but meh I'll have to muddle through) I'd be tempted to do it this week!

You've already lost 0.2-3 on Antonio (I shipped him for Lallana this week!) so I'd be tempted to just play it lol

Agreed. The Ox in particular for me really needs to sort out what kind of role he wants to play in our team, be it muscular centre mid or Antonio-type pacy battering ram winger or something else; I agree with Arsene that he's got quality but he's not young anymore and needs to be more than a nice guy around the camp. Has to find some consistency and make a place in the team his own, like Iwobi kind of did towards the end of last season.

Otherwise, he'll always be second fiddle to the "big" players.

      1. Arteta
        • 8 Years
        7 years, 6 months ago

So well written I have to give you a +1. It's literally make it or break it for him this season. I really hope he starts against Sunderland even though he played 80 minutes a few days ago.

        1. Individual
          • 10 Years
          7 years, 6 months ago

          Haha cheers Mes!

I think it's gotta be seen as an opportunity for him to seize. It's a bit of an oddity that he's "in and around" both our and England's squad (also "our" for me but didn't want to confuse hehe) but never seems to have a consistent season to back up the undoubted promise. If there's a place for young players to break through, it is under Arsene. I really want him to do it, otherwise he'll surface next year at Bournemouth or something wondering what went wrong... 🙂

I'd never do it with my main team, but if I could be bothered to run an FPL team aiming for max pts for the week (bit like the scout picks) I'd be tempted to put him into that
