Stock Check – Gameweek 12 – Monday

An emphatic display by West Brom urges Fantasy managers re-assess the potential of a pair of their attacking assets while basking in the comfort of a belated clean sheet. Here’s the Stock Check following Gameweek 12’s concluding fixture…

Matt Phillips
Fantasy managers started the evening lamenting the absence of Nacer Chadli through injury but, on the evidence of recent performances, Phillip’s could well supersede him as the key target in the West Brom midfield.

His goal and assist returns this evening earned him back-to-back double figure returns and took him to two goals and four assists in his last seven Premier League starts.

Priced at 5.1 to Chadli’s 6.4, the former QPR winger looks to have the advantage as a fourth/fifth midfield option. Indeed, even when fit, Chadli’s starting role now looks to be a puzzle given West Brom’s current form.

Salomon Rondon
The Venezuelan has produced a string of impressive performances without returns as the Baggies’ lone striker but, tonight’s goal and assist brought his drought to an end.

Priced at 6.5, the Baggies frontman looks an option in this form, although on Chadli’s return, he will likely relinquish spot-kick duties which dents his appeal – along with the potential offered by Phillips.

Nonetheless, with Hull City, Watford and Swansea City in his next four Gameweeks, Rondon may tempt some short-term investors seeking a differential.

The West Brom Defence
With a combined ownership of 50%, many FPL managers benefited from a first Baggies clean sheet since Gameweek 3.

That’s a surprising statistic given the emphasis on defence by Tony Pulis. Sitting back and allowing Burnley to come onto them, tonight’s approach was typical of a West Brom side who prioritise defensive stability.

Gareth McAuley remains our weapon of choice – a menacing presence at set-pieces that warrants the extra outlay for the aforementioned fixtures. But Chris Brunt demands to be monitored and, once we can be sure of his prolonged starting role, he arguably presents even greater potential for attacking returns.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

Hey TM. How long does it take FPL to update the average and the league positions? The tables in particular seem to be in a flux for quite a while. Thank you 🙂

Just wanted to let everyone who is playing Fantasy UEFA Champions League know that still have not received my prizes for winning the McDonald's UEFA EURO '16 game, nor have I even been contacted by anyone. UEFA is corrupt, even in Fantasy. Sad.

i'm sure i won the Euro Qualifier Daily 11's,
      Matchday 2 ( Oct 9,10,11 ) .
I was in dispute with them for ages, many emails, didnt get anywhere. All i was asking was if someone beat me what was their score. Pretty reasonable i thought. They kept saying they couldnt release that information to the public.
I contacted Andrew Haslam on Twitter, he was no use at all, just basically said what they said.

Oh and just for the record. Just because Nyom played tonight doesn't mean he is nailed. He could easily be dropped for Chadli once fit with Brunt playing LB, so if that happens you should post your apology for whining like a baby.

This is the key point. Just because a player played a match doesn't mean he's nailed. Nailed means pretty much guaranteed to start every match when fit. There's a lot of competition in that WBA squad now

Walker in particular has great fixtures coming up and if Tobi comes back in Spurs will be great defensively. Mustafi and Amat also have kind runs so no major problems for you!

Plus the guys everyone wants like Alonso have two tough weeks now so no rush to get them. In fact you might even have a short term advantage

Yea, like I was saying Walker, Mustafi and Amat could be good enough. No need for Fuchs really and he isn't preforming so I'd dump him if I was to do anything with that defence. But you don't REALLY need anyone so could dump him for a cheapy and use the funds elsewhere

        Damn, eerie similarities!!

        - Dropped to 500k
        - No bench, 1 defender didn't play, Fuchs got a 0
        - Captained Lukaku
        - ZERO goals/assists from anyone in my team
        - Played Heaton

After tonight's game, I'm just sitting and watching the world burn

Brunt still the one to have IMO. Worth the double up on Phillips or Rondon after tonight's performance.

A dead team at the bottom of my ML only had seven players that got any game time this week and still managed to outscore me.

One of those players was Crouch.

It's these type of GW's where that "crap" teams always do well with random poor picks turning up with a haul, ala Yaya Toure and Giroud.

    Hi,

    Which would you prefer?

    (A) 3-4-3 Coutinho-firmino-sigurdsson-hazard-redmond
    Costa-kane-Austin

    (B) 3-5-2 Coutinho-firmino-sigurdsson-hazard-walcott
    Costa-kane-diomande

    (C)3-4-3 Coutinho-firmino-sigurdsson-hazard-De Roon
    Costa-kane-Giroud

    Leaning towards C myself.

Any easy moves that can be made with 2FT? Willing to use 1,2, or possibly even 3 for a -4. Nothing ITB

    Cech (Jaku)
    Stones | Evans | Pieters | Friend | Amat
    Sanchez | Firmino | Hazard | Redmond | Capoue
    Kun | Lukaku | Austin

Not feeling good about my team. What do you think?

    Foster (hul)
Alonso (TOT), Clyne (SUN), Holebas (STO)
Hazard (TOT), Coutinho (SUN), Walcott (BOU), Capoue (STO)
Aguero (bur), Lukaku (sot), Benteke (swa)

Jakupovic, Walker (che), Smith (ars), Allen (SUS)

    0.5m and 1FT

Is it worth taking a -4 to swap Clyne and Allen to Sigurdsson and Amat?

    Cheers guys

Have Stones and Morgan myself and not happy with either. Might hold Morgan and monitor.

Thinking Stones to Brunt/McAuley myself, would you double up?

Not super keen to double up but they do have a nice run ahead.

Cedric at only 4.9 is tempting, if he can stay fit.

Can't quite grasp how Brunt gets bonus over Rondon? No assists, goals or clean sheets v One goal and one assist. No yellows either. Plus Rondon got MOM (I know this doesn't matter points wise but it maybe should)

Costa would be my personal choice as Sanchez/KDB more likely to be rested at some point in December and then bench Gundogan and transfer him out next week perhaps on free
