The Weekend Team News

Charlie Austin looks set to be sidelined for Southampton’s clash with Middlesbrough due to a shoulder injury. Hector Bellerin faces a late fitness test as Arsenal entertain Stoke, while Tom Heaton has a chance of returning in time for Burnley’s encounter with Bournemouth.

Hector Bellerin is set for a fitness test today as he steps up his recovery from an ankle problem ahead of Arsenal’s home match with Stoke.

Tom Heaton is expected to be fit for Burnley’s clash with Bournemouth. Speaking at yesterday’s pre-match press conference, Sean Dyche confirmed.

“He’s had a good few days, we’ll wait and see. As long as there’s no reaction he’ll be back in contention. It’s different training with the physios to training with the team.”

Seamus Coleman returned to training yesterday morning after recovering from the knock that forced him off against Man United. Ronald Koeman has confirmed he expects the Irishman to be available for the trip to Vicarage Road. Yannick Bolasie is set to undergo knee surgery after sustaining ligament damage against the Red Devils and is out for the season.

Claudio Ranieri suggested that Kasper Schmeichel “could be ready” to return for Leicester’s clash with Man City. The Foxes remain without Danny Drinkwater, who serves the last of a three-match suspension.

Charlie Austin is ruled out of Southampton’s home match against Middlesbrough. The forward was forced off with a shoulder injury in last night’s Europa League clash against Hapoel Be’er Sheva, with Claude Puel conceding:

“Charlie has a shoulder injury and we will see this. I don’t know how many times he stay out but it’s important for us. I don’t know but he cannot play for the next game of course”.

Puel has since confirmed this in his 11.30 press conference this morning.

Earlier this morning, Tony Pulis conceded that both Gareth McAuley and James Morrison will be assessed ahead of West Brom’s trip to Chelsea on Sunday.

“Morrison and McAuley haven’t trained this week so we’ve got a little bit of concern over the two of them. They’re knocks but they haven’t trained so today will be a big game for them because it’s the three-game week. Whether we play them Sunday and risk them for Wednesday (against Swansea), I’m not sure. It’s something I’ll have to sit down and talk to the doctor about.”

Ryan Shawcross is “unlikely” to be fit in time for Stoke’s trip to Arsenal, though Mark Hughes has confirmed that both Bruno Martins Indi and Marko Arnautovic have been passed fit.

Michail Antonio and Aaron Cresswell are both back in training and have been passed fit for West Ham’s trip to Liverpool.

All this and more has now been updated in the Team News section ahead of tomorrow’s deadline. Keep an eye on our official Twitter Stream for breaking news – as the day unfolds, we will issue updates from Friday’s press conferences and refresh our Team News tab accordingly to keep you informed.

People who have already taken a hit this week but have Austin what are you doing?

Swapping to Ineanacho for another hit or just leaving it and playing bench fodder?

I've gambled and taken another hit for Iheanacho

Probably taking another hit, which is very annoying.

I might get Nacho, Origi or punt on Llorente.

Think I'll take the additional hit because Iheanacho is so effective, but also considering waiting, play Holebas against the woeful Everton attack and see whether Pep will actually start Iheanacho or go for a midfielder.

Just pondering the same thing, have 1.4m ITB to do Austin-->Benteke/Defoe/Iheanacho but already took a hit.. And was planning on doing Pedro->Eriksen next week with the extra funds. If I save I'll be playing Amat which of course isn't the most sexy move...

Ha, just asked similar question below. My bench fodder is Capoue who has an ok fixture, so sticking for now isn't too unappealing.

But Iheanacho may get a few this weekend....

Quick strawpoll, which team do you think are likely to be more effective at shutting out their opposition this week:

    A) Stoke (vs Arsenal)

    B) West Brom (vs Chelsea)

Sure, but now you need a quick straw poll on who is more central to their team's attack - Sanchez or Hazard 😉

The only goal in a 1-0 win is worth more than one assist in a 3-0 win...

Already taken hits this week to get rid of naughty Aguero and bring in Sanchez...

So, do I dump Austin now for another -4 for Iheanacho....

    Or play Capoue?

Can afford for Austin to go down by 0.1 more as bought him cheap....

You mean -12 to get Nacho? I'm worried about that route, Nacho is too short-term. I'd play Capoue.

      1. Konstaapeli
        • 7 Years
        7 years, 4 months ago

It doesn't really works like that though. You have to consider if Nacho will score more than the Austin replacement for this and maybe next few weeks. The hits prior don't count.

Yep, that's the thing. I actually think a -4 gap between Iheanacho and Capoue is about what it will be. But then do I want Iheanacho longer term....hmmmm.

Should I hold onto Pedro and reasses next week for a less points hit worried he might not play this week or:

    A) -12 already on -4 so a -16 hit to get Hazard

    B) -8 so -12 hit and get son, Alli, eriksen or mkhitaryan

Been a busy week, and apparently I have completely missed Bolasi's injury news and the price drop, problem now is who do I swap him for? Personal favourites:

Payet (no money in the bank left)
Eriksen (0.8 left in the bank)

Other midfielders are Hazard - Firmino - Siggy - Capoue

Btw: already done Aguero -> Kane on Saturday so it would be a -4

Sell price for Austin is 6.6, and will fall to 6.5 tonight and I have 0.0 ITB.

    A) Austin to Origi (would be -12)
    B) Play Capoue (EVE), then Austin to Carroll/Wilson/Llorente (FT next week)

Have already taken a hit to lose Kun for Costa, but is it worth taking another 8pts for Austin>Anichebe in order to do Siggy>Sanchez?

Also have Hazard/Firm in my midfield, and have only just brought Siggy in for his good fixtures/false 9, but Alexis, I mean....

Anyone else considering captaining Defoe. Scored a hat trick last time Sunderland played Swansea. He has also scored 5 goals from the last 3 games against them. So many players capable of scoring goals for Chelsea, could be anyone and I would say Stoke are likely to park the bus against Arsenal.

Is that a no then - not worth the 8pts? The alternative is obvs the 4pt hit for Austin>Defoe...

Feeling a bit left out this week with no Firmino or Mane.

Neither of my rivals in my ML have them so neither Mane or Firmino can cause any harm to my lead, they may as well not exist.....however...they do both have Eriksen, who could me some serious damage from next week onwards, so I elected to bring in Eriksen this week as a block instead.

Not sure how I feel about it now.

Have kept Mane this week (C) where I could have switched (-4) to Sanchez. Twitchy ass time.

Aye. I've looked after my money a little better than my two rivals so I have Sanchez and they don't. That should be enough to make a difference this week, even without Pool mids.

On a WC, which goalkeepers should i choose?

    Currently have Foster/Pickford.
Thinking maybe valdes instead og foster?

    Rest of defense is Alonso/Walker/Cedric/Ake/Amat

    Thanks

Austin>Iheanacho done. Would you recommend only my second hit of the season for Gundog>Can? Or leave it till Monday? I will then have the funds to get Williams out at last for Toby ready for the two home games.

      New question:

      De Bruyne + Ihean (-8)
      or
      Kane + Capoue/Allen (-4).

GTG or anything worth a -4 for?

    Pickford
    Amat Lovren Smith
    Sanchez Hazard Firm Redmond
    Kane Lukaku Negredo

    Foster, Capoue, Holebas, Pieters

    2.5m in the bank.

    Negredo to Nacho maybe?
