The Big Numbers – Gameweek 21

Our usual post-Gameweek members article arrives this evening, as we cast an analytical eye over some of the standout performers over Saturday and Sunday’s ten fixtures.

Spurs’ red-hot frontman chalks up some outrageous statistics on his way to a hat-trick against the Baggies, while Dusan Tadic is more sinner than Saint after spurning chances aplenty. Elsewhere, Robert Snodgrass shows the benefits of a central role under his new manager and we check in on the impressive figures being produced by Arsenal’s overlooked wide man.

Paul Is certain he won't make the same mistakes next season. Follow them on Twitter

    Guys, play which one out of these three considering I'm playing Brunt and Defoe

    A) Nyom (SUN)
    B) Williams (cry)
    C) Smith (WAT)

      This tells me people think Everton won't keep a clean sheet at CPL which fills me with false hope for Benteke's prospects. #stillinmyteam #ronkaknows

        Everton not been keeping cleanies away from home. They did at Leicester but also conceded two at Hull. If Palace bombard them with long balls, I can see Tekkers knicking one. Above all, Williams is in my team. Everton will find a way to concede.

    Assuming Giroud is fit, is he a better option than Lukaku over the next few weeks?

    Marks team

    Ibra Lukaku

    My team

    Heaton
    Alonso Lovren Evans/Holebas
    Sanchez Hazard Eriksen Phillips

    1 FT, 0.7 in bank

    Thinking of saving then doing surgery as Holebas may be suspended for one.

      You need to fix your defense
      Baines outscores Rose in the long run i reckon
      Chambers is a bad pick imo you could outscore him with the right move also
      Maybe downgrade Defoe go to 5 in midfield and cover Lukaku with Mirallas

      I think you have Mark this week. It's close at least and I think City will do better than we think.

      I'd save although your defence is certainly a worry

      If you guys pick the same captain, I think that mark will beat you this gw. His defense is stronger than yours.

      A punt on your captain choice could change that. He will probably put the armband on Sanchez. If you are willing to take some risks, hazard captain could put you ahead this week. Risk/Reward

      I think Mark was right to get rid of Defoe, i think he's a major regression candidate. As you've rightly identified your defence needs a little attention. Saving this week may well be the right move, if you had enough then Baines in for Holebas would be the move, but as youre short then probably stick this week.

      I hope so as I am keeping the faith in Aguero with his next run in. That said, if he doesn't play even once and Gabriel does, for example, it will be hello Mr Kane and goodbye Senor Aguero.

          He is the main man there. He'll bang them in again this season. Aguero seems to be avoiding getting injured this season and his next 6-7 games are quite good though. Let's see though.

    Thinking of doing a crazy three player shuffle!

    I realise that I'll have to wait for news but what do think of this in principle?

    GW22 Sergio (TOT) > Costa (HULL)
    GW23 Costa (liv) > Kane (WAT)
    GW24 Kane (che) > Sergio (SWA)
    Other two forwards are Ibra (stk, HUL, lei) and Giroud (BUR, WAT, che).

    I've got some contingencies as things will no doubt change; Costa might not be picked or Giroud might not recover. Might even bring in Lukaku for Giroud and forget Sergio altogether in GW24.

    Thanks

      Don't waste an Everton player on their keeper. They keep random clean sheets and concede early in bankers. Investment in their defense means Baines or Coleman only.

      A bit knee jerk I think after Kane's performance. Spurs play Man city next........ Man city! They took a thumping off Everton that no-one saw coming...cant see them not scoring 2 games in a row. Therefore I wouldn't bring in Rose and Kane away from home vs Aguero at home?? You'd have to fancy the latter right?

    Heaton (Pickford)
    Baines McAuley Holebas (Pieters Amat)
    Sanchez Hazard Eriksen Phillips (Capoue)

    Grant Valdes
    Monreal Gibson Daniels Kaboul McAuley
    Lallana Alli Philips Sanchez De Roon
    Ibra Costa Teke 1.9 ITB 2 FT

    Planning for next few gamweeks:

    Daniels > Spurs
    Kaboul > Love
    De Roon > Stanislas
    Lallana > Pedro
    Giroud > Kane
    Teke > Crouch

    So this week gonna do Giroud > Kane, Teke > Crouch, De Roon > Stanislas.

    Option 2: Kane Lukaku Crouch (azpi kosc valencia baines Amat) + 0.5 ITB

      Tough, not keen on Love and Amat. So i'd go with 2, but do you really need 4 premium defenders, why not downgrade 1 and put ibra in for kaku?

          I think Kaku will have a good run now, that's why i bought him. He might match Ibra, but you need to have captaincy options and for me I feel a lot more comfortable with it on Ibra / Sanchez rotating.

          Alli should outscore Lallana, but I see Baines exploding with the upturn in form and the fixture swing over the next 6 GWs, so I see Baines over Brunt as a bigger net score than Alli over Lallana

            B - agree with the run of fixtures for Lallana, but can you see Liverpool not scoring significantly as much? The way they play I just see them conceding more. I think Lallana is always involved in everything. Agreed, Everton on the up and Baines spot kicks is massive.

      West Broms fixtures turn in GW28 so think Baines will outscore Brunt significantly as you guys point out.

        It all hinges on Lucas. It'll be Gomez + another and if Lucas is fit enough I'm sure it'll be him. Obviously Matip is out so that just leaves Lovren and Klavan... Lovren would be the more natural partner as RCB if he is out.

      4 planned transfers over the next 2/3 gameweeks (I can afford all 4 EXACTLY right now, and 0 ITB

      a) Evans -> Baines
      b) Haz -> Erikson
      c) Kun -> Kane
      d) Carroll -> Kaku

      Given that the upgrades are dependant on a downgrade, what order would you do these subs? 2 now 2 next week? 3 now? WC and fix other minor issues (sub keeper, rotating defenders, get some cash for Cap etc...)

        a) is the one that stick out for me, followed by d).

        b) Chelsea vs Hull at home vs Spurs away to Man city? - certainly not a priority this week.

        c) Would not surprise me if Kane blanks this week - would fancy Kun to outscore him, so again not a priority.

        Welcome to the discussion forum!

        Costa for sure - based on rumours, (no longer a transfer target due to rule changes in china - but certainly unhappy) and fixtures (not likely to start this week and tough after that).

        Midfield is light, but only striker worth down grading for is Defoe - unless you can get Kane.

        No, WBA on a good run of fixtures - Foster - solid, Philips - involved with everything, McAuley - massive goal threat - WBA has more headed goals than any other team.

        Good luck and hope this helps

        I'd save the FT and look to downgrade Costa and upgrade Allen to a stronger mid next week. DEFINITELY keep Costa in for Hull at home, you've taken his 0.4m price drop now so you need to see it through, I think he'll start. Three West Brom players is fine
