In retrospect, it seems that a lacklustre defeat at Watford in Gameweek 15 has been the making of Everton’s season.

Since that 3-2 loss at Vicarage Road, the Toffees have finally clicked under Ronald Koeman, chalking up five wins and a draw in the subsequent seven league fixtures.

The Dutchman’s decision to roll out a wing-back system has been key to their recent ascent.

Everton have chalked up four clean sheets in the last five Gameweeks, bringing both Seamus Coleman and Leighton Baines onto our radars as the Merseysiders offer the perfect combination of form and fixtures for the foreseeable future.

Identically priced in Fantasy Premier League at 5.6 apiece, and with clashes against Stoke, Bournemouth, Middlesbrough, Sunderland, West Brom and Hull City over the next seven Gameweeks, we assess the Toffees duo’s recent displays as we look for the most appealing route into Koeman’s much-improved rearguard.

    What is my best transfer this GW? 1.6 ITB, 1FT

    Holebas - Brunt (Will play Brunt before Carroll if not fit. Will probably play Brunt before Alonso or Phillips also)
    Giroud - Lukaku (Dont feel safe Giroud will start. Also need to get rid of Arsenal with blank GW26 and possibly GW28)

    Having Brunt, Phillips an Rondon, I was not very optimistic against Middlesbrough's defence.
    Now that they'll be missing Chambers and possibly Friend, do you think West Brom have a better chance of winning there?

        It's a tricky time right now. GW28 getting nearer but there won't be much more solid information till GW26. Some big players with blanks in GW26 and probably GW28 too. It's hard to plan.

        About the only thing that can be said is that going into GW26 with 2 FTs will be a big help. 🙁

                        I'm going to send the draft of the final article to you guys before I submit it (should be Tuesday night, for submitting to FFS Wednesday night so it goes out when the midweek GW is done and dusted). Think it is worthy of everyone's input as it's the last one 🙂

              Wait. Don't make assumptions about who will beat who in the FA Cup. Don't make unnecessary moves. Roll a FT and make sure to arrive in GW26 with 2 FTs.

        After 3 scoring weekends and Everton faithful saying he is nailed, I have a hunch Davies is going to be at least a 6 Pointer. Mcauley may get a Cleanie but not sure he scores and Jones is at best a cleanie and Defoe is up agin Spurs. Maybe I put Mcauley back in there- I don't know

          I look at it the other way. I don't think he continues his scoring 4 weeks in a row. Even when he's scored, he's got 6-8 points. Very easy for him to play well yet not make a contribution. Jones could easily get 8. But either way, the points ceiling is fairly low to make too much difference.

          Get rid of Lovren first and then Lallana the following week. It is more likely Liverpool will score than keep a clean sheet against Chelsea and the goals can come from anywhere with Liverpool.

      Don't plan the Robles transfer. Not worth it. Can save this week and move Lallana and Stan together next week. What is your long term plan for Stan? Else Lallana to any of the mids in that price bracket is ok. Not sure about Snodgrass yet. May want to watch him once before getting him in.

    Man, the midfield cupboard is so bare right now. Sanchez, Alli, Eriksen are the must haves and the list ends there. Firmino, KDB, Antonio, Lallana are all clearly second tier.

                      I don't do stats and just go by MOTD but just curious as to how Pogba's stats compare to someone like Sterling's. I'd imagine Sterling's stats are in the top bracket too for he's always in and around the box, missing chances et al. He's just bad at finishing. Could be the case with Pogba too.

        nah its not bad this week if Evans plays no need to take a hit.
        With 3.3 itb you are well set to have a brilliant defence I am sure

        -Baines/Coleman
        -Brunt
        and you will be just fine 🙂

      Don't think Wally is a three game punt material.
      He performs a little unpredictably and if he isn't assured of starting next game, it's almost only a two game punt with some bench minutes.
      Rather hold Haz and hope Lpool s defence is shabby.

      Seems to me like this is pure kneejerking
      You chose Barkley for the fixtures and now the fact that they play blanks .
      Unless you hold him for this run, don't trust such patchy players again if you play aggressive transfers. They just cost you unnecessary nervousness that they won't perform.

    Agreed.
    I guess most will be in a pretty tight spot around 26-29 so look if you want to really commit to a WC at those times as it puts you in a decision making process if how to use WC effectively so that blanks won't effect you and you still have long term players.
    Easy said than done.
