The Big Numbers – Gameweek 24

Our final Tuesday evening article delves into members’ data, as we take our usual scan of some of the standout numbers over the weekend’s ten fixtures.

We compare Gabriel Jesus’ displays with those of Sergio Aguero at Manchester City and check up on the recent performances of Swansea City’s and Manchester United’s in-demand midfielders.

The impact of Philippe Coutinho since returning from injury comes under the spotlight, while we also analyse the frontmen at Everton and Crystal Palace after a weekend of wildly contrasting fortunes.

Fulham to beat Spurs so I can have 2 extra players for GW28; Alli and PVA.

Fulham over Spurs, because I have three Spurs (Walker, Eriksen, Kane). Carnage can be nice for those of us who prepare, but easily fielding 11 would be nicer.

None actually... I quite like the challenge of having limited team to field 7-11 players... I believe lot of people in confusion will end up making mistakes and hence I can further cover my OR. (Have triple spurs btw)

Arsenal lose on the plastic pitch at Sutton. Just because Gooners would never live it down and Sutton fans would never forget it. 🙂

    Heaton Randolph
    Alonso Coleman Brunt PVA Yoshida
    Sanchez Alli Siggy Phillips Stanislas
    Ibra Lukaku Barnes

    0 FTs, 3.3 itb

Stanislas is my obvious worry. Worth doing Stan to Snodgrass for a hit or just wait and see if he'll start against Man City?

I think should Daniels be back, Howe would revert to 4 at the back, which means Stan may come back on the wing. Read somewhere Howe saying he was being forced to play 3 at the back due to Daniels injury. Keep an eye out for his status imo.

Cheers for the info. To be honest, I don't know much about Howe's tactics and how he sets the team up so will bear this in mind. I have Stanislas mainly for the fact he is on penalties, was in good form when I got him and doesn't blank.

Desperate times... No room for patience as the route to season end has started 😉

Sigurdsson is decent pick in that price bracket but not sure if taking out Alli/Eriksen makes sense... I havent watched their games though, so must have missed something.

Eriksen and Kane were very close to a haul against Boro and Alli is one of the best scoring midfielders in the league... we have already seen what he can do with those triple braces and he always lions dangerous

Sorry to contradict but the opposite is probably true. There is no room for impatience right now and those who knee-jerk around will only lose ground.

I can see an Eriksen to Siggy switch in GW27 if it helps with GW28. But not this week, not when Sigurdsson has Chelsea(a) up next. I'd certainly back Alli/Eriksen against him over the next 2 weeks anyway.

I think you are right that in isolation, Alli and Eriksen could/probably will each outscore Siggy over the coming weeks. But it could be the cash saved by having Siggy instead of one of them, could be used to upgrade another player, like upgrading a cheaper defender to Alonso. Siggy and Alonso could score more combined than Alli and a cheapie defender. Just another way to look at it I guess.

The differentiator between tied teams is number of FTs used.

All teams on, say, 2300 points at the end of the season will be graded in the OR that way, those that have used fewer FTs having a higher final OR.

    Current team :

    Heaton, Grant

    Brunt, Baines, Alonso, Kingsley, holgate

Sanchez, Alli, Erikson, Philips, De roon

    Jesus , Ibra, Lukaku

I plan to get sigurdson in :-
    a) Heaton and philips out for Jaka and Sigurdson IN
    b) Erikson/ Alli out for Sigurdson

    Which option is better ?

We have the exact same midfield. I really want to keep Eriksen and Alli. Their run (GW28 blank aside) is amazing after Liverpool. Even then the could be among the points.

Good to save here? 1 FT and 1.5 banked.

    Heaton
    Alonso Coleman Nyom
    Sanchez (C) Eriksen Siggy Phillips
    Zlatan (VC) Kaku Defoe

    Robinson De Roon Rose* Ake

Slightly worried Ill end up with 2 defenders but should be fine. Thanks.

    Heaton - Foster
    Baines - McAuley - Robertson - Yoshida - Amat
    Sanchez - Hazard - Erikson - Philips - Capoue
    Ibra - Costa - Defoe

    2 x FT, 0.2m ITB

    GW25 Amat > Fernadez & save FT
GW26 Sanchez & Defoe > Siggy & Lukaku (depending on FA Cup results), for free
    GW27 Save FT
GW28 Either Capoue > Snodgrass & save FT or Erikson & Yoshida > Snodgrass & Coleman for free.

Would give me either 9 or 10 for GW28.

    Look flexible enough?

Really need Arsenal to beat Sutton and Sunderland to win (who they playing in FA Cup, or does it depend on their PL opponents that week)?

Sunderland's will depend on Oxford Vs Middlesborough tie in FA Cup

Arsenal win against Soton will be good as I have already shipped Sanchez out 😛

Would you consider Sanchez(c) to Siggy(c) for free or is it madness? Until watching the scoutcast i thought it was madness but then
    A. Arsenal out of form and Hulls defence bang on form
    B. Swansea in good form and Leicester in bad form
    C. Sanchez dropping Siggy rising
    D. Will anyway be doing it in 2 weeks

    1. BT
      • 7 Years

Would not do it. It is still Sanchez vs Hull even if Hull are playing better. Maybe someone else to Siggy?

Do it if you like, can't see it paying off though. One blank from Sanchez and suddenly it is time to sell? Look at all his previous returns, his entire gameweek history. Arsenal need to win games, he'll have to play up front. On the big Emirates pitch v Hull who would be buzzing to come away with a point. If you don't have Jesus, I can't see a better captain for this week.

    A) Lord Heaton at Home (CHE)
    B) Grant at home ( CRY)

    Foster
    McAuley Coleman Alonso
    Sanchez Eriksen Siggy Phillips
    Ibra Defoe Costa

    Jaku Capoue Holgate Amat

Need to plan ahead, one of Sanchez or Ibra needs to og next week.

    Thinking Ibra->Lukaku and bench Sanchez

Cant see any good replacements for midfield, playing both blanks. Anyone out there have some good shouts?

    @PhilDagger

I have same dillema as you Erikssen to Siggy or not. I've noticed since Vertonghen is injured Erikssen has blanked in all 3 matches. Certainly this shows 3421 was much better for him. He's alsp been playing a bit deeper and on the right side whereas he was playing much central and higher up the pitch in 3421. I've actually started to feel Eriksen to Siggy is a good move this week.
