Dugout Discussion

Dugout Discussion – Watford vs West Ham United

Gameweek 26 rolls on with an “unfashionable” evening encounter that pairs Watford with West Ham at Vicarage Road.

From a Fantasy perspective, this serves as a scouting mission of the Hammers assets ahead of potential investment for the Gameweek 28 blanks.

Slaven Bilic’s side are just one of eight teams that are currently guaranteed to play over that weekend and, as such, are elevated in our thinking ahead of this encounter.

Andy Carroll is again an absentee as he continues to struggle with a groin complaint, leaving Michail Antonio to lead the attack for the visitors. He’ll be under the microscope, along with Robert Snodgrass who tucks into the number 10 role against the Hornets.

For the home side, Fantasy interest is limited given their forthcoming blank, although promising fixtures to follow has us monitoring the continued form of Troy Deeney and M’Baye Niang.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

It says he'll be assessed... Nothing suggests he'd miss GW28 where you'd need him...

    Question.

How many duds do you own because of GW28?

    I have Stanislas and Gray.

I think Mark is right in The Burning Question article. GW28 has blinded us all and we're going to miss out on a lot of points just to field 10/11 duds in a dismally low scoring gameweek.

Gray here as well, plus T.Carroll (but i'm happy to keep him as bench fodder)

Beginning to think Marks right as well.

Choice was between Gray and A.Carroll in GW21, so I will probably still end up gaining.

Whats the point of Stanislas for GW28, cant even get off the bench when they are losing and need a goal. -4pts will be worth it to see the back of him.

Teams suddenly bit of a mess for next week. Thoughts on transfers?

    Grant (Valdes)
    Alonso Brunt Baines Coleman Daniels
    Eriksen Siggy Antonio* Markovic* Clayton
    Ibra Kane Kaku

Had planned Eriksen & Kane > Sterling & Kun.

Would have to play 2 of Baines Coleman (tot) and Daniels (utd)

Same situation, and surprised by the certainty of these responses..I would take Kane over Costa short and long term. Costa has one brace all season, Kane 2 hat tricks and multiple braces.I prefer the explosive potential myself

But regardless, better waiting until tomorrow to ask this, let's be honest - if Kane scores a brace you aren't going to remove him

The Brunt Assist gate is another case of having too much information than is required. Mark has pointed out that any goal not assigned an assist is automatically put under review by the Match Centre and has been the case for a few seasons. Obviously this process could be done quietly and behind the scenes and as fans ourselves we can review the incident ourselves and if an assist should be given and is added then that's fine.
What I find annoying is the OfficialFPL twitter feed tweeting; "The ASSIST is currently under review – Brunt's corner took several ricochets before falling to McAuley #WBABOU #FPL"

Personally I think its just a case of any publicity is good publicity exercise, like when newspapers/TV etc. create an 'non issue' just to get people talking.

Although it should be noted if Citeh are knocked out they play in 27 and 28. Obviously different to a DGW, but still have fixtures.
