Eliteserien Fantasy- A New Game From the Developers of FPL

Did you think your summer would be dull without fantasy football? Fear not. The developers of Fantasy Premier League have launched a brand new game called Eliteserien Fantasy.

The game will feature the Norwegian top divison. The site is currently only in Norwegian but it is fairly easy to register and use if you are used to FPL.

The concept and rules are the same as FPL, the only differences being no chips and there’s a  ‘man in the stand’  for bonus points.

The season will have 30 Gameweeks between April and November. A third of the season will be played during the off-season in FPL so this game could soften the summer blow for Fantasy Footy junkies.

Already 58 players have  joined the FFS league, including FPL legend Ville Rönkä. The league code is: 3769-1041

In this article I will take a look at the 16 teams and the players to keep an eye on.

Rosenborg

Having won ‘the double’ two seasons in a row, there is no doubt who is the gigantic fish in this pond. Both league titles have been comfortable with a tally of 69 points, an average of staggering 2.3 points per game. The Rosenborg domination is set to continue with the acquisition of Nicklas Bendtner (12.5). Not only is the insane Dane the most expensive player in the game, he currently also sits in over half the teams.

Mixed results and a few injuries during the pre season, there remains uncertainty around the form of their key players. Rosenborg meet Brann in a face off between last year’s top two teams on March 29. This may give us some answers, or pose more questions as it will be the first of four games Rosenborg play in 10 days. This fixture congestion could be a good reason to overlook the pricey Bendtner for now.

Top 3 targets: Mike Jensen (10.5 MID), Fredrik Midtsjo (8.5 MID), Nicklas Bendtner (12.5 FWD)

Brann

After a shock relegation despite being title contenders in 2014, Brann bounced straight back up the following year. They used that momentum and enjoyed a successful return to the top division, eventually finishing second. Brann’s excellent defence is expected to do well this season as well, especially as Piotr Leciejewski (5.5) might be the best goalkeeper in the league. Early investment in Brann players could pay dividends as their opening few fixtures seem favourable.

Top 3 targets: Fredrik Haugen (9.0 MID), Vito Wormgoor (5.5 DEF), Torgeir Børven (9.0 FWD)

Odd

Starting last season with six consecutive clean sheets, Odd laid the foundations for what turned out to be a third place finish and Europa League qualification. The last 24 games only saw three additional clean sheets but Odd will nonetheless provide excellent defensive options. Espen Ruud (6.5) might prove to be the most essential player in the game. To go along with his nine clean sheets, the right back also managed five goals and eight assists last season.

Top 3 targets: Espen Ruud (6.5 DEF), Fredrik Nordkvelle (9.0 MID), Sondre Rossbach (5.5 GK)

Haugesund

Expect the unexpected when Haugesund are playing. One season they battle for the Europa League places, the next they fight for survival. Given they finished fourth last season, this year their assets may be best avoided! Defensively Haugesund are not much to write home about. Their midfielders have to bear the burden if they are to replicate last year’s form.

Top 3 targets: Haris Hajradinovic (7.5 MID), Erik Huseklepp (8.5 MID), Ibrahim Shuaibu (5.0 FWD)

Molde

Ole Gunnar Solskjær’s second period as Molde manager has failed to reach the heights of his first stint at the club thus far. Back then he led Molde to back-to-back titles, whilst his latest reign has resulted in 6th and 5th placed finishes. With a wealth of options in every position, picking the right Molde players could be a minefield. Solskjær’s preferred tactic seems to be resting players from time to time. Heavy investment in Molde’s assets is probably best avoided to start with.

Top 3 targets: Bjorn Sigurdarson (9.0 FWD), Sander Svendsen (8.5 MID), Mattias Mostrom (6.5 MID)

Sarpsborg

A stable mid table team for the last couple of seasons, Sarpsborg normally go about their business quietly. They do not concede many but they do not score that many either. In fact, their most prolific attacker finished 40th in terms of attacking returns last season. Big things are therefore expected of the attacking minded Krepin Diatta (6.0), an easy on the eye Senegalese U20 international who arrived last month. A Sarpsborg defender could be a must have as they managed 13 clean sheets in the last campaign, with nine of them coming on home soil.

Top 3 targets: Krepin Diatta (6.0 MID), Sigurd Rosted (5.5 DEF), Jonas Lindberg (5.5 FWD)

Strømsgodset

After being a top side since the beginning of the decade, Strømsgodset found themselves finishing mid table last season. They produce fluent attacking play and are a joy to watch, especially at home. Jonathan Parr (6.0) provides us with a potential OOP option. Listed as a defender, the former Crystal Palace and Ipswich left back played a lot on the left wing last autumn. The signing of the experienced left back Stian Ringstad (5.5) could mean a permanent shift to the wing for Parr.

Top 3 targets: Jonathan Parr (6.0 DEF), Marcus Pedersen (10.5 FWD), Lars Vilsvik (6.0 DEF)

Viking

There is not much buzz around Viking at the moment. Kwesi Appiah (7.0) has been signed on loan from Crystal Palace. Despite only being 26, this will be the striker’s sixteenth club in his senior career. Whether he can settle in and finally make it count remains to be seen. With an unfavourable set of fixtures to start the season, overlooking Viking options for the opening might be the best solution.

Top 3 targets: Kwesi Appiah (7.0 FWD), Julian Ryerson (4.5 DEF) Samuel Adegbenro (7.5 MID)

Aalesund

Highest goalscorer from last season still in the league this term is Mos (8.5). He will undoubtably be key this year as well but he is not the only threat Aalesund pose. Most of their goals in the pre season have come from set pieces. Centre back Mantyla has scored three goals without even starting a game but it is another centre back stealing the limelight. Daniel Gretarsson (5.0) has also scored three goals from his four starts this winter. However, Aalesund do concede a lot of goals so any defensive investment has to be purely because of their set piece threat.

Top 3 targets: Mos (8.5 FWD), Edwin Gyasi (7.5 MID), Daniel Gretarsson (5.0 DEF)

Vålerenga

Being the only representation from the capital, Vålerenga have failed to live up to expectations for a good few years. This season they have hired the services of former Celtic manager Ronny Deila. An attacking minded leader, Deila made his name at Strømsgodset where he took the team to league glory in 2013. After years of struggle to get permission and finances to build their own stadium on their side of the city, Vålerenga will finally be moving to their new home mid season. This will likely give them a solid boost throughout the season.

Top 3 targets: Ghayas Zahid (10.5 MID), Mohammed Abdellaoue (9.5 FWD), Markus Nakkim (5.0 DEF)

Sogndal

Gilbert Koomson (7.5) was the only assister in the league to reach double figures last season. However, that is a steep price tag for a player in a team that most likely will be in for a relegation battle. Sogndal had a good defence last season but the latest results in pre season do not exactly look encouraging. Still, if they can replicate some of that defensive form then they have several decent budget options in their team.

Top 3 targets: Matias Dyngeland (4.5 GK), Bjørn Utvik (4.5 DEF), Gilbert Koomson (7.5 MID)

Lillestrøm

Celebrating their 100 years anniversary, Lillestrøm will be hoping they avoid the dogfight this time around. They were dead and buried with five games to play but managed to survive by collecting 11 points from those games. Most of the players are very generously priced, probably reflected by last year’s finish. Lillestrøm should be competing for a place in the upper half of the table. If they manage to do that then there are a few potential bargains in their squad. Daniel Fernandes (4.0) has impressed in pre season, if he can nail done a starting spot then that provides us with an excellent budget goalkeeper.

Top 3 targets: Daniel Fernandes (4.0 GK), Bajram Ajeti (6.5 FWD), Chigozie Udoji (6.0 MID)

Tromsø

Defensively Tromsø are not a good unit. The onus will be on their attacking play. People will recognise Morten Gamst Pedersen (5.5) from his time at Blackburn. After struggling with injuries last season, the set piece specialist is set to claim a place in the centre of midfield. Some calmness in the middle of the park may be exactly what Tromsø need as their passing accuracy of 68.7 % was the worst in the league.

Top 3 targets: Aron Sigurdarson (6.5 MID), Sloboan Vuk (7.0 FWD), Morten Gamst Pedersen (5.5 MID)

Stabæk

Stabæk were favourites to go down in 2015 but thanks to the heroics of Bob Bradley they managed to finish third. During that summer they lost top scorer Adama Diomande to Hull, whilst Bradley left before the 2016 season. Stabæk barely recovered from those losses and somehow just about managed to survive. They are in for another tough season but they do have a couple of cheap prospects to keep an eye on.

Top 3 targets: Moussa Njie (5.5 MID), Luc Kassi (6.0 MID), Hanche-Olsen (4.5 DEF)

Kristiansund

Thirteen years after the club was formed, Kristiansund won the second tier and gained promotion to the top division for the first time. The promotion campaign was thanks to a good defence and a red hot striker. Daouda Bamba (6.5) scored 20 and assisted twice in 28 games. The Ivorian is young and fearless, and is sure to be amongst the goals also in this league.

Top 3 targets: Daouda Bamba (6.5 FWD), Aliou Coly (4.5 DEF), Sean McDermott (4.0 GK)

Sandefjord

Also gaining promotion prior to this season, Sandefjord are favourites to go straight back down. Genuine fantasy options are therefore far and few between, however they might provide a couple of bench fodder options. Seven defeats and no clean sheets in nine pre season games tells they are in for a very rough ride.

Top 3 targets: Erik Mjelde (6.0 MID), Andre Sødlund (4.5 MID), Flamur Kastrati (6.0 FWD)

Amrani (also Stabaek) has played a bit pre-season, but . Stabaek didn't post their final friendly line up, but found it on their forum: Sayoba, Skogseid, Skjønsberg, Race, Moe, El-amrani- Vetlesen - Ba - Njie, Ohi Brochman

(continuing from but) otherwise need some injuries to weaker teams for more 4.0m options to come available.

So Bendtner didn't start yesterdays Charity Shield, is he likely to be eased into action? If so, he I would expect his price to drop a lot as the masses sell him for a starter...

    Anyone in the know?

He'll start this weekend, but GW2 is midweek and GW3 next weekend. Doubt he'll start all 3 IMO.

Yes could see him being rested in GW2. I'm going without him, but it's a big risk indeed. His high ownership could punish me big time.

Norwegian reporter @ESNJonas tweeted about the scout league so about 40 more Norwegians joined. 😀

He also knows that Fejzullahu (S08) will be 6.5m when added. I'll start with Omoijuanfo who is definitely nailed and monitor the S08 situation.

Fejzullahu at 6.5 could be interesting. That's a no-go right now though.

How's it going Cruel? 🙂 Mind if I pose another question?

      A) Vilsvik + Mikalsen (already have Fernandes)

      B) Wormgoor + Rosted

Currently on A despite the double-up as I think it's better value. Don't mind having a differential double-up like that as I think both of them are good pick individually and I can't see to find an alternative. Or is there a better defender at 5.0? Don't fancy Gretarsson

      1. Niemi
        • 9 Years
        7 years, 1 month ago

I really don't fancy Mikalsen at 5.0 when you can get the attacking full backs Megalvis and Haakenstad at 4.5. He does have an eye for goal though. In the preview above one of the experts say Mikalsen is the CB who goes up for the corners, while the other CB Amundsen (4.5) stay back.

I'm going Albeck from Sarpsborg. Should be a starter, but could lose his place if he doesn't perform.

Yeah, I heard Mikalsen has good goal threat. I want to get the most out of a Lillestrom defender, so am on him at the moment. Team Cruel said earlier how he thinks Lillestrom assets are underpriced due to their poor finish last season, which was below par for them. Regarding Albeck, it's just that he's not 100% nailed that's putting me off.

I think Vilsvik is head and shoulders above the other options there so A.

Nakkim at 5 could be an option. Otherwise you could always go for someone at 4.5 if the rest of your defence is strong. Ryerson, Utvik etc.

Thanks. That's what I was thinking. Don't fancy Nakkim. Rest of my defence is: Ruud - Hedenstad - Vilsvik - Moe
          Keepers are McDermott and Fernandes

Would you then get Mikalsen or go cheaper and get Utvik?

    BONUS POINTS
After a fight is finished, the experts from Eurosport pick out the match, three players and give these bonus points in the game. 3 points go to the Match, 2 points goes to the second best and 1 point goes to the third best.

I think this is my final draft and lineup for the weekend. Captaining one of Pedersen and Moa. Probably Moa on form.

    Fernandes
    Hedenstad - Ruud - Vilsvik - Albeck
    Zahid - Midtsjø - Koomson - Sigurdarson
    Marcus Pedersen - Abdellaoue

    Bench: Dyngeland, Njie, Shuaibu, Moe

Opted for Njie over a 4.5 bench fodder as I think there could be some rotation over the first 3 gameweeks (3 games in a week) and we could need a decent bench.

    1. UnitedFan
      • 8 Years
      7 years, 1 month ago

Good team overall. And good reasoning for Njie as your fifth mid. Are we able to keep Shuaibu on the bench every week? He won't sting us that often will he? Going without Bendtner is a big risk, but one you're obviously willing to take. What's the appeal of Sigurdarson?

      1. Niemi
        • 9 Years

Not sure on Shuaibu. If he doesn't perform he could easily be benched at FKH, if he performs I will consider starting him. Most likely I'll wildcard after 3-6 gameweeks anyway.

Sigurdarson is a talented winger on Tromsø. Impressed in pre-season from what I've heard. On penalties as well. 3 goals 5 assist in 26 last year. Decent value for 6.5 IMO.

Ah alright, Sigurdarson sounds promising. Not a big fan of the 6.5m bracket really.. Are Jradi, Braaten or Nwakali any good options?

I don't have extended knowledge on Jradi and Strømsgodset, but I've heard most players in the midfield are prone to rotation (too many options). Braaten should start most matches, but don't get many goals or assist these days. Barely know anything about Nwakali, besides the fact that he's on loan from Manchester City to Sogndal.

I think Sigurdarson are a safer pick than the ones you mentioned. Nguen and Riski could be value at 7.0, but prone to rotation as well. Adegbenro is one of the most talented players in Eliteserien, but at 7.5 he is a bit steeper than the other players mentioned (and an injury doubt for the weekend). Mjelde is involved in a lot at Sandefjord, but they are a poor team.

We have very similar teams atm!

I'm on Rosted and Wormgoor instead of Vilsvik and Albeck, but depending on team news this weekend I could make the switch..
Our other difference is the Sigurdarson+Pedersen combo. I'm still not convinced who to get for those two spots. Have been looking at Mos+S.Svendsen and E.U.Andersen+B.Sigurdarson. I'd really want Pedersen, but I'm struggling to find a decent 6.5m mid.

Without looking like I'm trying to copy your line-up, what's made you go for Sigurdarson in midfield?

      1. Niemi
        • 9 Years
        7 years, 1 month ago

Sigurdarson is nailed on, on penalties and as far as I have heard he's been good in pre-season. Svendsen and Ulland Andersen are tempting me as well, but as far as I've heard they could be rotated (at least in the first gameweeks with the tight schedule). Also one of the experts in the video above said Sigurdarson was almost essential. He is probably exaggerating, but it made the decision easier.

        B. Sigurdarson and Mos could be just as good as Pedersen. I could see the case for going with a more expensive midfielder and Mos/Sigurdarson instead of Pedersen.

What I like about going with say Svendsen or Andersen is that I can easily shift them to someone else in between gameweeks. If I'm tempted by Adegbenro or Zekhnini for mid week then it's an easy trade. A 6.5m mid really limits me.

I'm sort of kidding, but bp can add up to a lot in fpl. So it's a factor if he could be a commentator darling.

Yes. He's expected to do well. I hardly saw anything of Tromsø last year, but I know he was injured quite a bit. Could have had a much better season if he was injury free all the time.

When I looked into him previously, compared well for the price. The issue was games & alternatives for 6m. Last year's stats (ignoring pre-season):

                              *Sigurdarson (TIL, 6.5m) - 3G/5A, 12 starts/12 subbed on.
                              Thrándarson (AAFK, 6.5m) - 3G/5A, 23 starts/6 subbed on.
                              Jradi (SIF, 6.5m) - 4G/2A, 26 starts @ LSK.
                              Nwakali (SOG, 6.5m) - 3G/4A, 21 starts/1 subbed on @ Start.
                              Barmen (BRA, 6.5m) - 5G/0A, 24 starts/1 subbed on.
                              Udoji (LSK, 6m) - 6G (overseas)
                              Ibrahim (VIK, 6m) - 2G/6A, 25 starts.
                              Kassi (STB, 6m) - 4G/1A, 21 starts/2 subbed on.
                              Ernemann (VIK, 5.5m) - 4G/2A, 19 starts @ S08.
                              Nielsen (S08, 5.5m) - 2G/4A, 23 starts/5 subbed on.

Not sure I can afford him now anyway.

Got 3 of them. I still think Helland isn't worth the extra 2.5 over Midtsjo.

                Rosenborg play 433 , I would much rather have a winger than a midfielder in a 433

They attack so much though, that Midtsjo gets as forward as the front 3. The fact that Helland is injury prone too makes him less worth it. 2.5 is a big chunk.

If Helland can stay fit I'd say he is easily worth the extra 2.5 over Midtsjø (or maybe get both). Has had lot of small injuries during pre-season and looked off pace when he came on against Brann yesterday, so I won't get him right now.

He had his big year in 2015 with 13g+7a in 21 matches (also 8g+3a in 6 cup games and 4g+1a in 6 Europa League qualifiers). If he can do anything like that again he is easily worth 11.

Template is hard to predict. Your squad core should consist of a lot of these players:

              Fernandes - Dyngeland - McDermott
              Ruud - Hedenstad - Vilsvik/Parr - Wormgoor - Lundstrøm - Gretarsson - Ryerson - Moe
              Jensen - Zahid - Midtsjø - Nordkvelle - Koomson - Udoji - Njie
              Bendtner - Pedersen - Moa - Mos - Sigurdarson - Omo - Shuaibu

Attacking threat too much to bench, no? In FPL, I play expensive defenders week in, week out, regardless of fixture. For Ruud, it doesn't seem right benching a player that is deemed 'essential'.

                Mortensen: 3G pre-season (from 9 games). 5G/3A, 21 starts/5 subbed on in 2016 (1840 minutes)
                Omoijuanfo: 6G pre-season (from 9 games). 4G/2A, 15 starts/13 subbed on in 2016 (1622 minutes).

Pick three for your starting team.

              A) Abdellaoue
              B) Bendtner
              C) Helland
              D) Zahid

The thing is he's apparently quite injury prone, so he's the Alexis Sanchez of this game if fit. 'If' fit. And Midtsjo isn't too shabby and alternative, he's arguably better value.

I'd like a strong back three so I'd be upgrading albech to vilsvik or hedenstead.

Albeck isn't 100% nailed. Ryerson has tough initial fixtures, but maybe you can keep him on the bench for those. Going without Bendtner is a big risk because of his ownership.

Thanks for both inputs. I've changed Albech with Rosted. I might go for Vilsvik over Parr. I'll check the stats more closely.

I don't like tying too much money up in the defense. If this was FPL I would have thought it was insane choosing even two 6+ players. Some good, cheaper options will probably appear after the first few rounds anyways.

I know it's a risk not picking Bendtner, and that I might regret it. But after yesterdays game I'm not convinced about his form. I also think it's a rotation risk in the start with three games in one week. He'll most likely end up in my team once the league has settled a bit.

First fixture puts people off, but I'm sure most are looking to bring him, or other Odd attackers in very soon. Plays in the middle 3 in a 433, but from my understanding is the most attacking one. Has taken their last 3 penalties. He also looks like the most nailed.

Vålerenga new acquisition Muhamed Keita (26) believes Rosenborg and Pål André Helland (27) is disrespectful towards colleagues.

                    - Helland is a fool. He must concentrate on playing football. It's just talking, says Keita after Thursday's training with his new club Vålerenga.
                    - Do you understand that it's going to be attention to this?
                    - I look forward. You can put two lines under it: Helland is a fool, says Keita.

Faced with Keita statements, Helland reacted:
                    - There are many who think that I am a fool. That I have no problem with. It had been boring if everyone went to church on Sundays. We need some characters, and we are well a little outside the norm both he and I, says RBK-star VG.
                    - Has Keita right that you and others in Rosenborg look down on the other teams in the premier league?
                    - We do not. The only way we look down on other teams, is on the table. And we will continue to do, says Helland.

                    Keita responds
                    - Our attack crushes theirs. Their forward line does not have a chance us. This year we're going to be much more effective than them. Rosenborg only have a system where their players fit perfectly, 'says 26-year-old, who believes he is a better player than his colleague Helland.
                    - There is nothing to compare once. Helland doesn't reach to my ankles. Helland should pursue a comedian career. He has a greater chance to win that than to compete against me.

                    Helland wants a bet
Helland is naturally not the same notion as Keita. The 27-year-old, who is now preparing for Sunday's meeting with Odd at Lerkendal, responds:
                    - I'm taller than him. That I do not reach him to the ankles is physically impossible, says Helland.

Both Helland and Keita had 10 attacking returns each last season, while Rosenborg's 65 goals were far more than Vålerenga 41. Now Helland is willing to wager that the outcome will be the same in 2017.

                    - That he believes Vålerenga has a better forward line than us, must mean that he believes they will score more goals than us. And I'll have a bet on that, says Helland.

I'm a Vålerenga fan but Keita is seriously deluded if he actually believes we have a better attack than Rosenborg.

Helland > Jensen is an easy transfer when he gets injured. Helland's rate of scoring is twice that of Jensen for Rosenberg , so don't really see why I shouldnt own Helland.

Think this is it. Bench not great, but distribution to allow Pedersen/Omoi > Bendtner/4.5m for one hit if necessary.

                      Fernandes
                      Ruud Hedenstad Lundstrom

                      Pedersen Moa Omoijuanfo

Strong team. Maybe look for another 4.5 instead of Ryerson, or maybe you can just keep him on the bench for them. Is 5.5 a good price for a Valerenga defender or is it too much?

Ryerson. Struggled on 4.5m def. Recalled an earlier post about his maybe playing further forward. We'll see.
Lundstrom. Maybe - depends how defence fares this year from what I've read. 6A last season.

Why do you recommend utvik over ryerson? I only ask as I don't know much about utvik but I know ryerson is an OOP def.

Yea no bendtner just because of the 4 games in 10 days he has. If I need him il just wildcard, but I think the balance of my team will outscore him in these first 10 days. (I hope anyway haha!).

Excuse the spelling mistakes there. I was in a rush. Ryerson has poor fixtures at the start and Sogndal apparently have one of the better defences. I think he's decent value for the price. But maybe you won't mind keeping Ryerson on the bench for the tough fixtures. Fair enough on Bendtner. I just think if he is rested, half the managers in the game are in the same boat as you.

True I get your point about the high ownership.

But when half the FPL don't have him playing, I will have pedersen or sigurgasen hopefully scoring for me.....

                          Latest draft:

                          Fernandes
                          Ruud - Hedenstad - Vilsvik - Utvik

                          Bamba - Bendtner

                          McDermott - Moe - Johansen - Shuaibu
                          0.5 itb
                          - I know Bamba has tough fixtures at the start, but don't know any other alternatives for that price.

Good balance considering Bendtner. Haven't got my head around idea of prioritising 4 at the back yet, but defence is strong and could be right with that approach. Fwds a risk as you say.

I wouldn't. I think Midtsjo is better value than Helland. From Rosenborg, I'm going with Hedenstad - Midtsjo - Bendtner

Albeck vs Grétarsson? Should my money be going into my 4th mid (Sigurdarson) or my 3rd striker (Shuaibu). Midstjo really necessary when I have Bendtner? Who else for his price?

Good team. Going without Bendtner is a big risk, but one your willing to take. To answer your questions:

                                - Gretarsson imo
                                - 4th mid
                                - Yes, they score lots of goals and he's a good pick in his own right

Gretarsson has great pre-season form (4G). Only thing that concerned me was lack of games last season. Not sure if that means anything for 2017 though.

Albeck all day over Gretarsson. I don't see the appeal of owning an Aalesund defender even if he has scored a couple of goals in pre-season. Albeck is first choice currently I believe.

Lilleström have signed a tall Czech striker, Mchal Skoda. 10 goals in 20 games in the Czech league this season. These teams are signing too many players to know who actually is nailed 😆

Right chaps, does this look template enough to roll with? I'm just going with a team that I think will do well long term instead of short term. As it's a new game I'm just going to play with a similar structure and play style to how I do in FPL and hopefully that'll come good.

                                Dyngeland / Fernandes
                                Ruud / Hedenstad / Vilsvik / Groven / Moe
                                Zahid / Midtsjo / Koomson / Njie / Heintz
                                Bendtner / Abdellaoue / Shuaibu

Do we know much about Shuaibu...how nailed is he? Good enough for a 3-4-3? 😀

Good team overall. Haven't heard much about Groven. I think Shuaibu is mostly being used as bench fodder, around here anyway. 4 at the back seems more viable in this league than the PL due to the dominance of some teams (hence, their defences) and the amount of attacking potential amongst defenders.

FK Haugesund had Huseklepp and Gytkjær as their preferred striker pairing, but Shuaibu had impressed in preseason so he's now going to partner Gytkjær with Huseklepp as a winger. Could be dropped if he doesn't perform IMO. I don't think Gytkjær has impressed yet.

Isn't Gytkjær the guy who scored a shed load for RBK last season?... I assumed he had left the league, weird nobody has him. That is worrying...

Should we do our own version of scout picks?

This and yeah, scout picks could be good.

Is it crazy to be thinking of captaining Alonso this week with this team?

                                    Pickford
                                    Walker Al(C)nso Valencia

                                    Costa Vardy Lukaku

                                    Heaton Maguire Brunt T. Carroll

Not crazy. Ruud a more viable captain though 😉

Johansen or Valles? Who's the better 4.5 bench fodder?

I know Valles is a defensive mid, but I just want someone who is nailed and can come of the bench.

Johansen not a starter. Not sure on Valles, but started the 3 last training matches. Doesn't seem to be any good 4.5 midfielders
