Dugout Discussion

Dugout Discussion – Wednesday

After the first four fixtures of Gameweek 31 treated us to just seven goals last night, hopes are a little higher for the remaining six matches.

Many Fantasy managers will be keeping a keen eye on the Emirates as Alexis Sanchez looks to punish West Ham once again.

The Chilean is the third most-captained player this time around, having served up 23 points against the Hammers back in Gameweek 14.

Dele Alli – the most popular midfielder in FPL – and Spurs team-mate Christian Eriksen also have the opportunity to deliver a big profit as they travel to a Swansea City outfit that boasts the worst home defensive record in the top-flight.

Crystal Palace and Middlesbrough are also in action this evening, affording us an early scouting opportunity as both gear up for a double Gameweek 34.

Christian Benteke and Wilfried Zaha roll up to St Mary’s looking to build on their goal and assist apiece away to Chelsea, with Sam Allardyce’s men seeking a fifth straight victory.

‘Boro face a tough task away to Hull, though. The Tigers are a tough nut to crack at home under Marco Silva, with six wins and a draw in seven in front of their own supporters across all competitions. Notably, the Teessiders appear to have opted for a front two for tonight’s clash.

Chelsea and Man City square up at the Bridge in one of two 8pm encounters.

Diego Costa is the second most-captained player for the Gameweek – over 10% are backing the Spain international despite a run of two goals in seven. Meanwhile, for the visitors, Sergio Aguero has persuaded 8% to take an armband punt on the back of three strikes in four.

Liverpool seek to gain revenge on their 4-3 capitulation at the Vitality Stadium earlier in the season as Bournemouth make their way to Anfield. With Sadio Mane sidelined, Philippe Coutinho – the top transfer target for Gameweek 31 – and Roberto Firmino carry the main threat to a defence that’s been breached 31 times already on their travels.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

    Quick question: I had Alonso as 1st sub and Pieters as my 2nd, Valencia didn't play so Pieters got auto subbed..

    Why is this? Shouldn't it have been Alonso?

    Yay or nay?

    Sanchez/Siggy/King
    >>>>>>
    Eriksen/Coutinho/Sane

    Leaves me with a midfield of;
    Alli, Eriksen, Coutinho, Sane, Zaha.

    Pickford, Foster
    Amat (lol), Pieters, Brunt, Walker, Alonso
    Carroll, King, Sigurdsson, Alli, Sanchez
    Origi, Vardy, Lukaku

    Can't choose between Vardy to Ibra so I can set up for det DGW, or to Aguero because I like fun.

    Any suggestions?

    Jakupovic Pickford
    Clyne Valencia Pieters Alonso Baines
    Eriksen Sanchez King Sigurdsson Carroll
    Costa Lukaku Llorente
    1.6 ITB, 1FT

    Should I wildcard before it's too late or wait for GW36 and take a few hits to get out of form players?

      Depends who you are thinking of shipping. Only Clyne, Siggy and Llorente (maybe Alonso) I'd be looking to move. Pieters at as push but not much at his price.

        Jakupovic, Clyne, Alonso, Llorente, Costa don't look good to me. I can keep Jakupovic because he is cheap. I definitely want to get rid of Clyne for Davies, Costa for Ibra and maybe another transfer. The question is should I wait or take hits?

      I am pretty much in the same dilemma. However, I think Siggy to Alli/Son as a better move than Hazard. I think it would give more funds for you to have that better 5th midfielder. How much would you have if you did Siggy to Alli/Son respectively?

    Heaton, Jakupovic
    Valencia, Bertrand, Davies, Robertson, Wilson
    Sanchez, Alli, Sigurdsson, King, Carroll
    Aguero, Lukaku, Vardy

    1FT, 0. 3 in bank

          Don't think WC necessarily required, and would try not to sacrifice Sanchez. Would downgrading Lanzini to a 4.2 and Alonso to someone like Yoshida give you enough funds? Might be worth a -8 and save WC

    And then Origi to Gabbi when fit for the doubles?

    Sacrifice Sanchez for this midfield?

    Alli, Eriksen, Coutinho, Sane, Zaha

      You're going to want him back for the doubles

    what Ive noticed with Sanchez (in the last two games at least) is that he is playing very well but is often now-while out on the flank- assisting the assister, which generally involve overlaps from either Moreal or Ozil. unless he cuts in onto his right and they are used as a decoy his goal threat has now been severely diminished

      I think it depends on what side they are facing

      He'll get more into the box when they play sides that are deep

      Looking at Arsenal last night, they played fantastic up until the last third of the field...then they suddenly lost it every time

      Maybe it's Welbeck who stirs it up somehow?

    I need to get rid of either kaku or vardy? Who to move out? My rival has kaku if that makes a difference

      I am sort of in that position but don't want to get rid of lukaku with the fixtures. Vardy to go from mine. Who for though??

        I'll get in Kun most likely

      Vardy - 4 away games, none of them is easy and 2 Athletico Madrid matches are somewhere between them which means rotation risk as well.

    Is zlatan the main man for most people in he 34 with his DGW or is cover across the defence more important?

      One of the main men definitely. But things can change, will need to see how Europa league goes, Mourinho has mentioned resting players ahead of Europa league since this is their most likely way into Champs league next year.

    De Gea
    Davies, Valencia, Walker*
    Alli, Sanchez, Coutinho, King*

    B - Walker, Vardy -> Yosh/Stephens Ibra
    C - Walker, Coutinho, Vardy -> Yosh/Ste, Sane, Ibra
    D - Walker, Coutinho, Vardy -> Yosh/Ste, Erikson, Ibra

      Whenever you feel your team needs it ... Or the week of the Saints Arsenal rescheduled game (probably 35)

      One week before the biggest double game week, then the week of the DGW play bench boost. Many of us scored over 100 points this way last season.

      I think 35 or 36.. Means I can get a load of Boro + Palace players for the 34 DGW and then lose them all for the other DGWs easy.
