The ScoutCast – Episode 223 – Comedown

Gradually weaned off our double fixture helping and returned to normality, the ScoutCast team take time out to pick through the wreckage of Gameweek 34, before we set our sights firmly on what lies ahead.

Wildcards and Bench Boost chips lodged up their end of season sleeves, Jonty, Andy and Luke join me to embrace another round of community questions.

With the rebuilding programme imminent, we take a look at those shot-term punts who can do a job in Gameweek 35, before weighing up single fixture assets who can possibly hold their own amid the forthcoming circus of Gameweek 37.

And, of course, we carry out our weekly appraisal of Alexis Sanchez, as the Chilean hints at a return form just as an irresistable Eden Hazard closes in.

This ScoutCast was first beamed live via our YouTube channel on Monday night. Be sure to subscribe to get notice of future live episodes.

A is the safest move, B is more punty... C is a bit more sideways.

Depends if you're chasing or consolidating really.

    For the DGWs:

    A) Cech - Darmian - Sane
    B) Cech - Kompany - Herrera
    C) Caballero - Blind - Sane
    D) Caballero - Kompany - Walcott/Pedro

Edging towards B or D as I already have Valencia, but I feel like Sane is the better choice of mid-priced mids.

    Rest of team:

    Pickford - *****
    Valencia - Vertonghen - Yoshida - Stephens - *****
    Sanchez - Hazard - Alli - **** - JWP
    Aguero - Kane - Anichebe

Just got in from work guys appreciate this has probably already been discussed. A couple of questions

How did Jesus play when he came on?

Just noticed Bravo was injured was it serious? Is Caballero a genuine option now.

Have my WC ,TC and BB left and don't fancy anyone for TC 36 using BB 37 so think I'm going TC king 35 v s'land.

83 points totally justifies the -8 right. I've no WC so I think I'll just hit away to get my BB 37 team. At this stage of the season risks should be taken

    B) BB (WC left, but no TC) will be played in 37 after a gw 36 WC.

Did we get any significant words from Pep after the match?

    1. HashAttack
      • 7 Years

only that he hates Aguero and city's season would have been so much better if they had had Jesus all season

        • 11 Years
        7 years, 23 days ago

        Really?...surely not...

        1. HashAttack
          • 7 Years
          7 years, 23 days ago

The first part was inferred - the second very much so

His argument was that they could not get Jesus until January, but could not buy a different striker in the summer - i.e. Jesus was the one and he was happy to wait 6 month

If Jesus was there the whole season then City's season would have been so much better ...

He may have meant things such as more competition, more rotation options, fresher strikers ... but I don't think there is any doubt that Jesus in no 1 and Kun no 2

Got any other Spurs mid? If no, B although I would wait for at least one week to see Jesus' situation.

      A is more nailed though.

Indeed. I'll have to make the decision this week though. Everyone in City's team is a rotation risk, I guess, and Gabriel looks dangerous even in a cameo (can also play along with Aguero and more forward than him).

Is no one really even going to drafting Redmond, with two doubles still to play?

He was benched the other day. Romeu has returned and will start every game. That might precipitate some changes/rotation in the rest of midfield

Learned my lesson from Zaha and Negredo. Doesn't mean they have more games to play, they'll score more.

I'm keeping an eye on him. Will see how he does vs Hull.

No. You'll be lucky to guess which Soton players play four games in ten days...mainly because there might be very few.

True that. But Yoshida seems quite safe bet now, if you like Southampton's new championship level CB-pair, which you' be right not to like, and then, this is a bit of a punt, but I can't see how Gabbiadini would be tired from playing too much this season.

He may be tired from not playing much just as easily....maybe not under normal circumstances but certainly for so many games in short order.

        Romeu seems quite safe too.

He just got dropped. That makes me doubt whether he actually gets DGW's.
