The ScoutCast – Episode 224 – Maths

You get your Wildcard active, and we’ll do the maths. Or rather Jonty will.

This week’s ScoutCast gets highly technical as my aforementioned co-host goes all Rachel Riley on us (wishful thinking) and attempts to bewilder with a cheeky little algorithm he’s just happened to have rustled up.

Attempting to cut through the noise of the forthcoming double Gameweeks, Andy and Luke join me while Jonty gives his numbers an airing via another round of your targeted queries.

We chew over Gabbiadini’s demise, assess the Gameweek 37 potential offered by Spurs and Chelsea and, yet again, make another assessment of a slumbering Sanchez.

The end result all leads to the ScoutCast Wildcard template squad, as Big Vic crashes in and Luke stands alone in shunning Arsenal’s Chilean timebomb.

This ScoutCast was first beamed live via our YouTube channel on Tuesday night. Be sure to subscribe to get notice of future live episodes.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

Cant get him unless I take a -8 this week.

Could go -4 this week and -4 next week and get him. Or -8 next week to get him.

Personally, I've dumped Kane; the chap offers much more points at WHL so it's Costa for me.

    1. Point-one short

Kane, more explosive - could see him hauling, whereas Costa I don't think will get double figures in games. Plus Costa gets YCs (and deserves them).

    Interesting scoutcast,

I just wanted to know, at various times Kane/Costa/Jesus are all named 'essential' but yet Anichebe is being talked about as an ideal enabler.

So which 2 of the big 3 are the real must haves?

Does Eriksen & Alli together 'cover' Kane?

    1. Moose™
      • 11 Years
      7 years, 19 days ago

Kane taking the penalties. Must have imo. It is between Alli, Eriksen, Vert for the remaining 2 spots.

    2. Skyarm
      • 7 Years
      7 years, 19 days ago

      They can all be 'covered'

Aguero Sane and Sterling instead of Jesus.
Hazard Alonso and Pedro for Costa.

Ultimately comes down to who you think will score more and what your budget will allow.

I think I'm gonna settle on this for my WC. 0.1m banked.

    Cech - Caballero
    Azpilicueta - Vertonghen - Gabriel - Yoshida - Stephens
    Sanchez - Hazard - Alli - Sane - Kante
    Kane - Jesus - Gabbiadini

Will get double Chelsea defense instead of Vertonghen if Luiz falls tonight and/or Davies/Stones seem nailed after the pressers tomorrow for the dgw.

    Thoughts please?

I think Davies nailed for 36.

I thought you had double Spurs midfield which was why I thought Gabbi was big. Looks good.

Don't trust Gabriel at all though. I just did Gabriel > Huth but might become Davies

      1. pundit of punts

I need Davies for 37 though.

I feel Gabriel is pretty nailed after reading the comments of Wenger and Arsenal players in the previous articcle. They're gonna stick to 3 at the back.

TV not that big to have triple Spurs attack. 😛

My son went for a trial tonight with a local football academy.

Oddly it was a match of three halves. First session played well and came up with a great assist....and then got kicked in the face. Second session was sat out with a bloody nose and mouth. Third session was spent sheepishly nursing his wounds and trying to carry on.

It was a one of trial....mmmmm....

I know most people haven't thought this far but...

    1. Rainer

Sturridge could be 5th choice attacker if Klopp sticks with Lucas in midfield.

Coutinho - Firmino - Lallana (Origi then Sturridge)

Don't save it just for him.
