Sunday treats us to a single, but nonetheless crucial, Gameweek 24 fixture as Southampton welcome Tottenham Hotspur to St Mary’s at 4pm.

After Sergio Aguero’s hat-trick at home to Newcastle yesterday, Fantasy Premier League (FPL) managers are looking for a repeat performance from Harry Kane today.

Having put three past the Saints in a 5-2 win in Gameweek 20, the Spurs frontman is the number one captain choice in FPL, handed the armband by 29.3%.

However, the visitors’ potential at both ends of the pitch has been dented by the absence of key duo Hugo Lloris and Christian Eriksen through illness.

Sold by over 96,000 FPL managers last week, the Dane could now be subject to a late-January exodus – Mauricio Pochettino’s men play Manchester United, Liverpool and Arsenal in the subsequent three rounds of fixtures.

Up against a defence that has mustered just a single clean sheet in their last 11 at home, owners of Dele Alli and Son Heung-Min will be optimistic of returns – the pair plundered 15 and 14 points respectively in that recent triumph over the Saints.

In defence, Ben Davies is handed a fourth straight start for only the second time this term, with Danny Rose again missing out due to an ongoing knee complaint.

            Like in gw16 when my gw rank was 5,140,098 after a massive 24 points.

          Looking at his form, he's certainly delivered. But looking at the fixtures ahead, even if you don't have him yet, he's surely worth bringing in?

          When cheaper midfield alternatives are all floundering he's barely over £7m and gets clean sheet bonuses. I certainly fancy Chelsea to keep getting clean sheets in their upcoming fixtures and he's always throwing himself forward.

          The boat might have left the harbour but it's not over the horizon yet.

          Anybody making any substitutions now should be banned for a GW and all price rises frozen. We have two EFL cup semi-finals and a whole load of FA Cup games to come before the next Premier League kick off. It's practically another GW (in which none of us will get points) before the next one comes around.

          Very confusing to see people asking about which transfers they should make already - so much can happen in between now and the next GW deadline. I have an idea of who I'm transferring but other than having it mocked up and in my head I won't be revisiting it until the weekend when everything becomes a bit clearly.

          Would be so annoying to be priced out of getting a player you want because a throng of people have gone way before the whistle and inflated prices.

                I was kind of over-exaggerating when I said banned, but you know, you wouldn't be making transfers a week early in the middle of an active GW would you?

                And the actions of the masses do affect us, of course they do, because they tip price changes.

                  Everyone's entitled to their own strategy. Chasing price rises early doors and then using increased team value 2nd half of season can work out.

                    Yeah all I'm saying is maybe wait to see what happens in those games that will affect whoever you're thinking of bringing in. I know that between GWs there's always a chance of injuries in training etc... but in other games players could get suspended, higher chance of injury etc...

                    It's one of those things when you have a clear idea of who you want, but you know you only just make it with how much you have ITB and you're very close to being priced out of getting them...

                Very happy with 2 points from Hennessey after conceding 4 goals in 22 mins. Due a beastly score as soon as variance happens to allow a reasonable Palace performance to be turned into a CS. Hope it happens before they play TOT, MAN and che in successive games :/

                If you had Aguero + Kane up top, would you just stick with it? Many will scramble to get Kun in now I think but because of this forward line I don’t have Alonso.
