Injuries

The Treatment Table – Gameweek 34

As per usual on a Sunday evening, we scour the treatment rooms for any new injuries sustained over the weekend’s matches. United have worries up front ahead of their weekend home clash with West Brom after Wayne Rooney picked up a knee problem during this afternoon’s loss at Everton.

Burnley
Sam Vokes missed the Clarets’ home loss to Leicester due to a thigh problem, Sean Dyche has confirmed:

“We need goals, because we haven’t been scoring enough lately. We had a tricky spell earlier in the season and came through, and we need something similar now. We’re looking for something for Lukas Jutkiewicz. Sam Vokes has a niggling thigh injury, so it’s a chance for Jukes to show what he can do.”

Chelsea
Oscar was replaced at the break in today’s draw at Arsenal following a clash of heads with Gunners keeper David Ospina. The Brazilian was sent to hospital for scans, with Jose Mourinho saying the club’s staff were “scared” over his condition.

Post-match, the Blues boss admitted that Loic Remy won’t be fit in time for the midweek trip to Leicester.

Crystal Palace
The Eagles were without Joel Ward for the weekend home loss to Hull due to a shin problem. Alan Pardew is not yet ruling the defender out of next weekend’s trip to the Bridge:

“Fingers crossed he will be back for Chelsea. I’m sure Chelsea aren’t [crossing theirs]. He’s been great. It’s a shin injury…We missed Wardy’s quality at the back.”

Leicester
Jeffrey Schlupp picked up a knock ahead of the Foxes’ win at Burnley, whilst Nigel Pearson also confirmed David Nugent remains a worry with a calf complaint:

“It’s always about trying to get the best we have available. We picked up one or two knocks, David Nugent and Jeff Schlupp didn’t make it today, but it’s an opportunity for other players to come in.”

Liverpool
Alberto Moreno missed the Reds’ goalless draw at West Brom with a knock, according to local reports.

Man City
Yaya Toure is set to be assessed after being forced off during City’s narrow win over Villa with a hamstring problem, Manuel Pellegrini has confirmed:

“Toure had a hamstring problem so he couldn’t play the second half. It is difficult to know today what happened, but it was not a precaution. It was a muscle injury and we will see tomorrow [Sunday] or Monday how bad it is.”

Man United
Wayne Rooney was forced off towards the end of this afternoon’s loss at Everton due to a knee injury, Louis van Gaal has confirmed:

“Yes, Rooney was injured. He had a shot on his knee, so we have to wait and see how heavy (serious) it is.”

Newcastle
Daryl Janmaat was forced off due to illness as the Magpies fell to defeat at home to Swansea. John Carver revealed post-match:

“We lost Daryl Janmaat because of sickness, so he should be okay for next week, but he wasn’t feeling too well, so I had to get him off the pitch.”

Southampton
Morgan Schneiderlin limped off towards the end of the Saints’ draw with Spurs due to a knee injury, according to post-match reports.

Stoke
Geoff Cameron was subbed off with four minutes remaining of the Potters’ draw against Sunderland due to a hamstring problem.

Swansea
Wayne Routledge has been ruled out for the remainder of the season with an ankle injury. The Swans confirmed on Saturday afternoon that the winger has already undergone surgery in order to address a long-standing problem.

Jefferson Montero was replaced on 69 minutes after sustaining a thigh problem.

Tottenham
Ben Davies was stretchered off in the weekend draw at Southampton with a shoulder injury. Post-match, Mauricio Pochettino went on to say:

”Ben [Davies] is OK now. He suffered a dislocation of the shoulder but he is much better now. We need to assess him in the next few days. Not a longer [-term] problem.”

West Ham
Winston Reid missed the weekend draw at QPR with a hamstring problem, the Hammers have revealed.

Was playing against a very good, solid Chelsea defence.
God knows why Arsenal kept crossing it to him, it was never going to get past Azpi, Cahill, Terry or Ivan. They're all giants.

The Oscar injury is bothering me.

He was concussed in the 16th minute.

Mourinho says they were scared about his injury.

They didn't take him off until halftime.

Why'd the physios let him play on for 30 minutes then?

That thought crossed my mind but over the next 2GW's i plan to do Bellerin/Davis to PVA/Ospina.....
        1. not convinced that bellerin will play both games in the DGW and dont wanna waste an Arsenal player
        2. not sure with so many away games that double southampton is the way to go right now

I'm ok with double Saints when one of them is a keeper. Save points 'should' give them a half decent score. But fair point in number 1.

          I'd still wait though.

Last 5 GW's 3-0-3-0-0.... both instances when he made 3 saves they were at home... Last 5 GW's 1-3-1-4-2 for ospina

        Hendo - QPR(H) - CHE (A) - CPL (H) + 4 - STO(A)

I would probably save the FT since you already have 2 Arsenal just to see whether Sanchez may be worth it. As a Liverpool fan , I'm not particularly confident in our midfield and attack at all with Sterling already thinking about his contract and Henderson being a shadow of himself in the presence of Gerrard though. That's my two cents.

If Chelsea win the next 2 - they're officially champions right?

Which means Liverpool could be forming the guard of honor for them in GW36 and then go on to get spanked at Stamford Bridge?

This site is so misleading sometimes. Last night after the match everyone was posting scores ranging from 60-79, barely a score under 60 seemed to be mentioned.

Then I look at a top league like the contributors' league. All quality players, more than half in the top 10k...

Only 5/26 are sitting on 60+

Sometimes I want to break into that old football chant:

"You only post when you're winning, you only post when you're wiiiiiinning."

"They think someone cares".. That is exactly the bizarre thing! It is a funny old world where we are driven by the lure of being successful in a game for which success brings nothing but envy and indifference!

The thing is some people do care, but they already know what you got. They are in your leagues.
The 10000 other people who use the site,,,,not that concerned.

I like the ' Scorecheck ,,,I got 9' posts. They are rare

Well, you could go for an anti-differential.

E.g. Sell some very high ownership players like Kane, Terry, Aguero etc and hope they fail while your replacements fire.

Would love to bring in a differential in a final push for 1k - problem is the need for using FT's for GW37 Arsenal players. But thinking that using one hit for a differential could be smart. Tempted by Benteke, guess his ownership will increase quite a lot iin coming two weeks though. Mirallas also a good shout.

I'll be serious for just one moment:

      1) de Jong - quality player, been out all year takes 17 minutes to get back on the score-sheet - Newcastle have good fixtures

      2) Fernandinho - under-rated City midfielder who will relish under the new set-up ... i can see him scoring big before end of season

      3) Chadli - found form again, no-one owns him anymore

      4) Austin - the forgotten soldier, missed the penalty on the weekend but could have been back on the board and QPR will be fighting madly to avoid relegation

      5) Benteke - form, fixtures, low ownership - easily the best option

I really, really want Moreno to play the next game. If he misses out again and only a 6 minute cameo from Alex Bruce cockblocks the 15 points John Stones has got on my bench I'll be peeved.

I don't deserve the points, obviously, but I'd like to miss out on them by a long way rather than such a fine margin.

Wait it out after the gwk is over since a lot could change in 1 match. Liverpool as a whole have looked dull recently with Sterling's head somewhere else at the moment, and Coutinho's on field performances failing to translate into FPL points. Personally I prefer Ramsey to Ozil who's been excellent for me recently.
