Monitor – Chris Brunt

A weekend strike against Sunderland took Chris Brunt’s tally to three goals and as many assists in just 13 starts for West Brom this season.

Yet the Irishman’s bandwagon has failed to materialise mainly due to the continued popularity of four-goal team-mate Gareth McAuley, who now resides in 27.9% of Fantasy Premier League squads after grabbing a 12-point tally against the Black Cats.

Often utilised as a winger by Tony Pulis this season, Brunt has netted twice in the last three Gameweeks despite a shift to left-back. Even more impressively, a goal involvement rate of 28.6% when on the pitch is higher than any regular backline option this season.

Considering his classification as a defender in FPL, we assess his latest displays to see just what effect his stint in the Baggies back-four has had on the underlying numbers.

Paul Is certain he won't make the same mistakes next season. Follow them on Twitter

Stats to Back up my Earlier Argument :
Points Per Game (played 60+ Mins)
    Lukaku with Bolasie - 6.4
    Lukaku without Bolasie - 5.1
That's the PPG Difference between Sanchez and Hazard.
    Could be Coincidence,
But with all 4 of Bolasie's assists being to Lukaku, it is surely more than Coincidence.

Not a coincidence at all. I commented last week about Lukaku's facial frustration towards Barkley who seems less than obliging with a final ball to Lukaku...preferring to have a pot shot himself. Bolasie and Lukaku definitely had the chemistry.

surely it would only take Lukaku to hit a brace in one of his next 2/3 for those PPG to become the same though?

Also you've conveniently taken the loss to Chelsea (GW11) out of the equation by limiting it to 60 mins.

Doesn't change the fact they he may score more with Bolsie supporting him rather than Barkley. Those two seem to have a problem with each other sometimes from what I can see.

I wouldn't be worried. Lukaku has managed to deliver a great scoring record throughout his career, not just during the 13 games that Bolasie has played with him

dunno, hard to tell, there was a point last night when he was 'running' at the hull defence and it looked like he was stuck in treacle. he's 35, its just past the season halfway point and he's paying pretty much every game, how long can it last?

          Sorry repost;

I was all set on switching Carroll & Hazard to Crouch & Sanchez this week but the big man's form and Arsenal's blank is forcing a rethink.

I'm now fancying Hazard>Alli and save the second transfer to reassess next week after the transfer window closes with 2.6m ITB. Mainly in part due to Sunderland's injuries I think they're there for the taking so Alii & Kane looks a good bet.

          Any thoughts?

          Heaton
          Alonso Toby Jones
          Firmino HAZARD Phillips Pedro
          Ibra Kane Carroll

Does Palace fit Patrick and Patrick fit Palace?

The somewhat of a fantasy demi darling Patrick Van Aanholt is currently in London having his medical to complete his move to Crystal Palace. But what does this mean for him as a fantasy asset?
Big Sam has been appointed at Palace with one of the intentions to be that he focuses more on defence. PVA is naturally very attacking, his game is to arrive around the left side of the box and have a pop at goal or to cross low and hard.
He has 7 goals in the last 2 seasons, only Benteke from the Palace squad has scored more on 8.
Do we think this is going to continue or are his attacking returns going to be heavily curbed?

5.0 is a bit much for me with brunt the same price. if they go 3-5-2 and hes the left mid then it could be one to watch but only when palace start picking up points.

Mark needs a geography lesson. Time zone difference between Gabon (where AFCON is held) and England is 1 hour. Zaha might need assessing for different reasons but time zone is not one of them.

What if he turns up an hour early for the game, thinks it's not happening and goes home again? Easily done. Certainly a factor for the next match. You have to consider everything

Was gonna bring Lukaku in for Giroud next week but Costa is so consistent.

Who is everyone else going for?

I have Costa. Why lose Giroud?

The fixtures stiffen up a little after next week and Walcott returning might reduce his minutes.

Think i'm going to do Hazard to Eriksen today. Surely Spurs will play a similar team that they did against Villa in the last round.

Vorm, Trippier, Carter-Vickers, Dier, Wimmer, Davies, Dembele, Winks, Sissoko, Son, Janssen

Eriksen is unlikely to play in the first place but even if he did play, it would be unlucky for him to get injured.

It looks like it's a matter of time. But might survive tonight.

Yeah, it looks like it could be tonight but he might sneak another day out of it.

Don't think I will chance it.
