Dugout Discussion – Tuesday

Double Gameweek 37 enters its fifth day of action this evening, serving up two more fixtures to entertain Fantasy managers.

Arsenal welcome Sunderland to the Emirates in the 7.45pm kick-off as Alexis Sanchez looks to add to his goal and assist haul in Saturday’s demolition of Stoke.

Captained by 10.6% of FPL managers, the Chilean is the second most popular armband pick for the Gameweek. As expected, he has shrugged off a leg problem to start against the Black Cats, while fellow weekend scorers Mesut Ozil and Olivier Giroud are also named in the first XI as Arsene Wenger’s side attempt to keep their hopes of a top-four finish alive.

Man City entertain West Bromwich Albion in the second match of their Double Gameweek at 8pm.

Sergio Aguero returns to the starting XI alongside Gabriel Jesus as Raheem Sterling drops to the bench for the home side. The Argentine produced zero points as a sub at home to Leicester on Saturday, though boasting a 17% ownership, he is City’s most captained player (8.1%) for their pair of fixtures.

The top transfer target for Double Gameweek 37, Jesus rewarded his 217,000+ new owners with an eight-point haul against the Foxes, while Leroy Sane’s 7% backers will be hoping for more of the same after he delivered a season-high 11 points in the weekend win.

Paul Is certain he won't make the same mistakes next season. Follow them on Twitter

To be fair he asked to be subbed before he scored and the second goal was offside last night.
He was an obvious pick yes but don't dismiss good luck as deserved good play

        That's such boll*cks
Sanchez has always been Arsenal's main threat this season.
He has the highest return in FPL.
Not going with him for two consecutive double gameweeks is simply Ludacris.

The funniest thing is the members of the scoutcast advising against getting him and captaining him to then doing the exact opposite ^^

ML leader was ahead by 27 points. BB got me 34 (Pick, Cout, Zaha, Holgate). His TC got him 27 extra from Sanchez. The lead is down to 24. Now I need Gabbi to come on, if Gabbi does not play Stanislas with 10pts comes in for him.

My team: Bavies, Kane, Alli, Yoshi, Stephens, Gabbi
His team: Valencia (Holgate), Bertrand, Alli, Gabbi

Can I gain some valuable points to make the final gw go down to the wire? Think it really depends on Kane's performance now.

Jesus, Kane, Lukaku, Alli, Eriksen, De Bruyne, Hazard, Coutinho, Sanchez, Aguero all (if still in premier league) to be over 10 million with a load of other 9-9.5 options. Then add in new players e.g. Griezmann who will come in above 10 million.

The 3 things this season have taught me
    A) I care way more bout OR than I thought I did. Blowing a top 10k finish by going for a ridiculous gamble sucks balls which leads to
    B) Don't needlessly expose yourself to highly owned explosive players
    C) Change tact with bench boost. By definition double gameweeks are about fixture pile up and the squads are so big and deep these days that rotation is inevitable. Only a few top quality players are immune to this and they'd be nowhere near your bench anyway

    1. Whats the Huth

I had all other players with dgw. So, with a BB at disposal, I just kept all sgwers on the bench. Not sure if the team would have been any different even without BB.

My attackers ahead of Coutinho were:
          Alli, Hazard, Sanchez
          Jesus, Kane, Gabbi

          I went 4-3-3

Nah ... I am not having Stephens over Coutinho 😉 (huge rotation risk and was likely to play one game)

You say this coz he scored 19 this gw. Past two gws his score was 1 & 3. Soton were keeping CS and Gibbs's fixtures were good with attacking potential. To be honest I was about to hit Cout>Sane but only resisted because it involved hits.

Not at all, but It's just a bit of fun ... so if you say you would have played Gibbs, Stephens and Gabbiadini over Coutinho if you didn't have a BB then it is fine by me.

As I said, I played King & Llorente over Stephens due to rotation issues, and certainly would have played Coutinho too if I had him

stan is only 4.6. vs king 6.2( if u are getting him now) that 1.6 could get u a better hitter on a team with something to play/fight for. not forgetting with the last gw some big guns will be rested.

It's okay man. Your decision making over the year has been impressive, just learn to side with the majority sometimes.

It's my biggest weakness hate being dull, gomms join bigger and better cash leagues to see if this curbs my punty ways

Just don't forget this pain of losing hard gained rank to an easy foreseeable haul. Covering dullard picks is easy

I knew losing Sanchez was sub optimal. Only did it coz cash league sown up (although it's not now 😆 ) if I was in a competitive league no way I'd have done it

60 points gap away from 3rd in my mini league before the games last night.

Now I'm in 3rd. With a mere 6 points breathing space.
Have to focus now and stay there. Really happy with 3rd after a horrible season for me.

What sort of lead would people be confident with in their mini league at this stage?

After Sanchez exploits last night I've now gone 61 ahead with the following players remaining this GW:

    Me: Kane, Bavies, Stephens
Him: Alli, Son, Vertonghen, Valencia (Iwobi off the bench if he doesn't play)

I'm hoping I can keep the lead over 55 for the final week and that that will be enough!?

Yeah, I certainly hope so - Top spot is worth an extra £300 on 2nd place!

Yeah you've got this , assuming no chips left in your ML. im in a very similar spot toyou on 54 ahead, most teams are 80% the same so very hard to make up 50/60 points on anyone.

Yeah, I was 40 behind him before 36 but thanks to WC & BB (he had neither) I've gone from that to 60 ahead. Sanchez (C) for two weeks and him not having him at all doing the majority of the damage!

Will probably bring in Coutinho this week just to be on the safe side.

To be honest, you'd have to be very unlucky to lose a 30 pt lead in the last gameweek of the season

Searching for good last week punts , but who to get out? I have 2 FT, 0ITB

Hazard - Will he even play? He cab backfire big time.
    Sane - Rest?
    Eriksen - ?
    Jesus - ?
    Gabbiadini - ?
    Costa - ?

Looking something like that Hazard/Sane ---> Coutinho/Firmino/Mahrez/Siggy or Gabbiadini to maybe Llorente. Probably Costa must stay in my team..
