A third of the season is almost done, and Burnley’s defence is riding high as a source of Fantasy returns.

After a surprising debut campaign in which a recurring series of defensive heroics – particularly at Turf Moor – saw the Clarets survive in 16th place, their sophomore season has been altogether more impressive.

Sean Dyche’s side sit in seventh place – tied on points with both Liverpool and Arsenal –a nd have conceded fewer goals than all but the top three of Manchester City, Manchester United and Spurs.

Can their defence continue to perform at such a high level throughout the campaign? And who among their array of options looks best placed to prosper from this upturn in solidity?

      Salah is close to essential but Hazard has good fixtures in November and December. I'd try and find another way.

          Wouldn't say the person to ask lol. I think Dier will drop to Cb but with Wanyama still injured its possible Davies plays Lcb with Jan cb and Sanchez Rcb. But to be honest it's all guess work

      I think dier will drop in and that could have a knock on affect for eriksen who will probs continue to play deeper. As for Davies I'm holding this week but he has to go imo

        Cheers. I agree Dier can fill in and sissoko and Winks play CM but doesn't seem a nailed combination. I thought it increases Bavies chances of playing more than 50% of the time that's all. As unassuming he'll still get games at LWB but now he might be needed for the odd LCB outing too
