The options so far in this Moneyball series have tended to be relatively obscure players from the deeper ends of the Fantasy listings, generally plying their trade among the league’s apparent lower classes and thus away from the eye of the average manager. This week’s candidate is the polar opposite of that trend as few players have the potential to garner more attention than the eye-catching and somewhat mercurial Djibril Cisse.
Contrary to popular belief, I really think the double up of Rooney and RVP would be worthed. Over the coming weeks, with the given fixtures and form, these 2 look like the best bet to score goals. Yes, it could backfire but if you have a decent enough team that you feel can chip in with goals and assists, then its perfectly worthed. Rotation kicking could also be a headache but I don't see Fergie resting two of his best strikers in one game. I have doubled up and I don't think its the worst idea in the world
Open ControlsSo what's the rest of the team look like Roh?
Open ControlsSchwarzer/ Jaask
Baines Evans Nelsen O'Shea Cameron
Mata Morrison Ramirez Nolan Sterling
Ba Rooney RVP (c)Open ControlsIn fairness, that ain't too bad. In fact, I'd be tempted to go cheap and sell Baines and Jevans then use that money and bring in another big mid hitter and maybe a medium priced one too. Then again, I'm one of those people who prefers big money in the middle and up front and little in the defence 😀
Open ControlsThat midfield is way too light for my liking.
Open Controls
doubling up with roo and rvp really isnt a popular belief.
Open Controls"contrary" means against
Open Controls
It's not the worst but not the best either - all it takes is a 1-1 draw with Ashley young assisting carrick and your gone
Open ControlsI think it could be genius, but it would take far too much messing around in my team to accommodate Rooney, and if it didn't work then the rest of the team would be too weak to make up for it.
Open Controls
A) Mcauley
B) Clyne
C) DemelOpen ControlsWhich one to bench out of:
Gorkks (NOR)
Cameron (QPR) - Already have Begovic playing
Berba (ars)Open Controlsrvp (c), baines (vc)
Open ControlsNaice! I dont have RVP 🙁 Getting him next GW though
Open Controls
would love some more opinions on this
so i’ve been tinkering with my team and came up with something. would you rather have:
1) tevez, 5.5 mid, ivan, foster
or
2) ba, cazorla, sagna, tremmel (other goalkeeper is begovic)
i currently have 1, but 2 looks really temptingOpen ControlsHow I have the might Bego, I feel having 5m wrapped up in Schwarzer on teh bench is a bit silly.
Open Controlshow many typos?
Open Controls
What are Ashley Cole owners doing?
Open ControlsHow Is this for the gameweek!
Howard (Foster)
Baines Vermaelen Ivanovic Huth (Clark)
Cazorla Mata Hazard (Sterling) (Morrison)
Dzeko Jelavic (C) Pogrebnyak
a) is the team good?
b) should i change the captain, if needed who to?
c) any changes?
cheers!Open Controlsa) it's good, but that's so much invested in defense. and it hurts your forward line way too much.
b) jelavic is a decent shout for capt
c) lose some of those defenders and get some utd attacking coverOpen Controls
Seems madness to even consider selling a player on the back of a hat-trick but do people think Defoe to Ba is a good move?
Open ControlsActually Defoe is the streakiest player around. This hatrick could be the start of something. Fixtures are shite though, tough call, esp as Ba is fighting an injury.
Open Controls
Baines (c).
Open ControlsTwo rules to owning Baines
1. Never Bench
2. Never Captain
that's allOpen Controls- Open Controls
Never and always are two words that should never be used in fantasy football.
Open Controls
I would over RVP if RVP weren't so far ahead in the poll. Just can't take that big a chance....
Open ControlsI'll probably chicken out and captain RVP at the end, but Baines IS tempting.
Open Controlsb/c everyone's expecting them not to
Open Controls
Think about it this way:
Baines will, in all likelihood, have to keep a clean sheet for this to be a good move. That can disappear in a second - just one good shot or one fluke goal and it's gone.
RVP could, theoretically, have a shocking 89 minutes, and pop up for a second to score. He could also do this 2 or 3 times.
Baines could easily get attacking returns, but he's very unlikely to get double points. RVP could tear Villa apart.Open Controls+1
The only reason I'm hesitant is because RVP can score multiple times while Baines can only get one cleansheet.Open Controls
Can anyone better this team with no hits or WC this week?
Begovic
Baines (v) Cameron Clyne
Cazorla Bale Fellaini Michu
RVP Tevez Ba
Can't wait for this GW - bring it on!!Open ControlsFor those captaining Baines, you do realise that Sunderland have scored more recently than Everton have kept a CS right?
Open Controlsshhhhhh.....
Open Controls...errrrrrr...but you do realise that we don't play Bainesy for his cs, don't you?
Open ControlsI know but I've seen quite a few talking about Baines(c) "because he is guaranteed to keep a CS so at least 12 points". Don't get me wrong, I think he will provide decent returns tomorrow but find this reasoning for handing him the armband over RVP against Villa a little silly.
You going RVP(c) Jafa?Open ControlsHell, yeah. It's fantasy suicide not to 😉 Good luck!
Open Controls
But you captain him cuase of both
Open Controls
Play:
a) McCartney or b) Cuellar?
Both likely to concede and get no ATT points so it's a fairly boring choice I knowOpen ControlsWhat to do lads??
Need to take out either Bale/Hazard/Santi
Trying to bring in RVP and Mata but means I need an 8 point hit (ouch)
What to doOpen Controlsdon't take a -8 man
Open Controls
After having heard Mark's arguments for a shift in the FPL structure, I must admit he has a really strong point.
Now the midfield is just about finding 4 number 10s or with the occasional number 9 (Michu), and a budget set piece/penalty taker/bonus magnet.
Change can definitely be looked at.Open ControlsNah, keep it simple. Its fine as it is. Part of the skill is working out who is playing the no.10 positions, etc
Open ControlsI agree. That definitely takes skill (and research). Still I would like to add the skill of finding the defensively important midfielders as well. After all we are able to award for bonuses to both GK and DEF. It does not require huge change - just look at Sky's baps system.

I am on RVP as captain at the moment, and I have Fellaini too...and Tevez....both possible candidates also...but what as a cheeky punt, go for Hazard ? I have a feeling Chelsea will get a big score against Liverpool this weekend........
Open ControlsI have Begovic in my starting 11 as it stands and I either put Cameron or Ba in my team? what ya think?
Open ControlsBa. Obviously.
Open ControlsHe's confirmed to play then? haven't got around to listening to pardew press con.
Open ControlsNot confirmed as such but Pardew said he "looks fine" which suggests to me he is starting

so, what to do with ba and defoe? have em both 😛

Open Controls
Bego
Baines, Rafael, Ridgewell
Hazard, Cazorla (VC), Pienaar, Walters
Tevez (C), RvP, Berba
( Jaask. Davies, Sterling, Demel )
1FT. Suggestions to this team?Open ControlsConfused about choosing my captain. I am thinking between Baines and Fellaini as Everton play at home against Sunderland.
This is my team with 3-4-3 formation
Gk: Cech; Def: Rafael (Man U), Baines, McAuley; Mid: Nolan, Mata, Hazard, Fellaini; Fwd: Holt, Suarez, Tevez
Subs in order: Gk: Friedel, Mid: Sterling (Liv), Def: Nelsen (QPR), McCartney (West Ham)Open Controls

Need help! Can't decide between getting rid of Bale for Mata/Oscar, or letting Fletcher go for Ba. My prob is Ba has a great run, but soon so will Fletcher, and I already have Ben Arfa, is that enough for Newcastle? Money is not an issue, but for seem reason I think Oscar will do it, but realise the stats in favour of Mata, help appeciated.
