Leighton Baines remains a doubt for Everton. Angel Di Maria is fit for Man United’s trip to Arsenal. The Gunners welcome back Olivier Giroud, Aston Villa face a central defensive crisis, West Ham have worries over Diafra Sakho and Stewart Downing, while Vincent Kompany returns to training for City.
Olivier Giroud and Mikel Arteta are both in contention for Arsenal’s home clash with United, though Arsene Wenger has admitted “it’s just a question of how ready they are”. Earlier this morning, the Arsenal boss confirmed Danny Welbeck will be assessed later today after picking up a hamstring knock in midweek and went on to say he doesn’t think Theo Walcott will be available. Alexis Sanchez will also be assessed after arriving back late from international duty with Chile.
Villa are bracing themselves for an injury crisis in central defence ahead of Monday’s visit of Southampton. Paul Lambert has confirmed that Philippe Senderos is ruled out with a calf complaint, whilst Ron Vlaar and Nathan Baker are both “struggling” and almost certain to miss out. Alan Hutton is back for the Midlands outfit, though, after recovering from an ankle injury.
Sean Dyche remains hopeful Scott Arfield and Nathaniel Chalobah will be available for Burnley. Arfield picked up a knock in training earlier in the week, whilst Chalobah was forced off on England Under-21 duties in midweek.
Roberto Martinez has doubts over seven players ahead of Everton’s home clash with West Ham. The Toffees boss has confirmed Leighton Baines remains “touch and go” to face Sam Allardyce’s side, whilst Seamus Coleman (Achilles), James McCarthy, Kevin Mirallas (both hamstring), Darron Gibson and Steven Pienaar (both knee) will also be assessed. Gareth Barry remains unlikely to recover in time from an ankle injury sustained in Gameweek 11.
Steve Bruce has confirmed Allan McGregor, Nikica Jelavic and Michael Dawson have trained all week and are expected to be available for Sunday’s clash with Spurs. Curtis Davies has stepped up his recovery from a back problem and returned to training yesterday for the Tigers.
Midfielder Dean Hammond misses out for Leicester this weekend, though Nigel Pearson has revealed Liam Moore (illness), Wes Morgan (foot) and Ritchie de Laet (knock) are all available for selection.
Vincent Kompany has returned to training with City, though reports indicate he only has an outside chance of making the home clash with Swansea.
Angel Di Maria and David de Gea are available for United’s trip to Arsenal, whilst Michael Carrick is expected to recover from a groin problem in time for tomorrow evening’s encounter. Louis van Gaal confirmed Daley Blind is unavailable and is set for scans in 10 days’ time and Luke Shaw remains a doubt after being forced off on international duty in midweek. Radamel Falcao is sidelined for at least another two weeks for the Red Devils with an ongoing calf complaint.
Alan Pardew has confirmed Steven Taylor is “a big doubt” to face QPR at home, with the Magpies also missing Fabricio Coloccini, Cheick Tiote and Rolando Aarons.
Sam Allardyce has confirmed West Ham will assess Diafra Sakho and Stewart Downing after the duo picked up back and knee problems over the international break. The Hammers boss also revealed Andy Carroll is ready to start if selected, though is not 100% match fit.
