The Scout Head to Head Leagues 2011/12 – Draw Results

When Fantasy Premier League (FPL) opened its doors a couple of weeks ago, we weren’t far behind. Fantasy Football Scout got the ball rolling on our Head to Head leagues for the 2011/12 season by creating another two more and asked you all to stick your names in the hat for entry.

You kindly responded in your droves and after many man hours of wading through the entries, and a glamorous draw which took place on Saturday morning, we have had over 60 new leagues places to hand out to the lucky few recipients of our draw. The results (click to enlarge) and final figures on the nine Head to Head leagues (new entries highlighted) are as follows…

As you can see from the graphic above, there was at least one extra place in all of our leagues – be it from people dropping out or not claiming their spot in time. Firstly, if you see your name highlighted in that peach melba colour then you should have already received an email response to that which you entered with your respective league codes – if not, then whizz me over an email and I’ll sort things out for you.

Impressive Tackle and Back on the horse are the healthiest recipients who have jumped all the way up to FFS H2H 1 thanks to having the superior ranking of all our draw winners – Impressive Tackle finished a mind-bending 14th in the world last year.

Gooner Dave wasn’t far behind so takes up the single space left in FFS H2H 2. Four new managers get to take on Fantasy Football Scout head honcho Mark in FFS H2H 3 – Have they got what it takes to beat “The Scout”? I’m sure they’ll relish the challenge.

LawnDart jumps right into FFS H2H 4 on his own while FFS H2H 5 sees three new managers get to compete with Fantasy Football Scout super scribe Sir Paulos, podcast jockey Granville and differential destroyer (and my main rival) Big Dunc – without doubt the most Scout heavy Head to Head league.

Our Stateside Scout Da Beeeez is joined by three new faces in FFS H2H 6 with guiness416, Heisenberg and pompeyfan getting a jump up into our league structure.

FFS H2H 7 was our bottom league last season so sees a fair few new faces join its ranks thanks to a whole load of relegations – our comment-board regulars will perhaps recognise the likes of Johnny Unitas, Horizontal and RaspingDrive in amongst the qualifiers.

Scout business brain El Fozzie is heading up FFS H2H 8 (the first of two new leagues which has nineteen new faces) – Greeny was the best ranked manager of this bunch at a very respectable 17,284th place last season.

Certainly, 17,284th is more than I could have ever hoped for, which perhaps explains why I am heading up FFS H2H 9 – or what I am now dubbing “The Underachievers”. You will notice plenty of recognisable faces from long time caller Pasqualinho to King Nil Miss with a certain Westfield Irons inbetween. The Irons are the team managed by none other than Jon Reeson, winner of the whole 2009/10 FPL campaign and Marks’ Radio companion. Last season saw Jon struggle to keep up appearances following his banner year but is back ahead of the 2011/12 season and will undoubtedly have 19 Head to Head rivals eager for the victory scalp of an ex-FPL champion.

For those of you needing a reminder of how our promotion/relegation works then have a gander at the following graphic and work out just where you need to finish to survive and/or prosper.

This, of course, indicates that we know we need to cater for many more than just the 180 managers in our Head to Head leagues above. So without further ado we also christen the opening of the Fantasy Football Scout Reserve League (code: 759-148560).

If you were unfortunate enough to not have your name pulled out of the hat in the draw/got relegated/left it too late to claim your place then the Reserve League is open to anyone wanting to enter. Your league code (759-148560) should allow you the chance for 38 Fantasy Football Scout endorsed Head to Head fixtures and the shot at promotion into the aforementioned structure – just make sure your team finishes in the top 45 places and then keep your eyes peeled the following summer if you do.

Stick around for sporadic League updates through the season whenever we can squeeze them in, I’ll hopefully have a short graphic based one up in the early September international break and our first comprehensive movers and shakers report in the following October break.

Congratulations to our 60+ draw winners. Get joining our Reserve League if you’re not in on the action. I’m going for a stiff Ribena, am glad all that work is almost over until next summer. Good luck. Except to those in League Nine- I need all the help I can get in that one.

    Given // Al-Habsi
    Cole A // Kompany // Jagielka // Simpson // Orr
    Silva // N'Zogbia // Taarabt // O'Hara // Moses
    Aguero // Suarez // Zamora

1.5m to bring in Chelsea cover in GW2; one of Silva/Aguero/Suarez >> Malouda, Torres, Drogs

Thinking to bench Given, Jags, Simpson, O'Hara GW1

    Thanks

      yep is very good.
i think torres is gonna start with a bang this year. ive a similar plan to you, in that in GW2 i will transfer in either Torres/Drogba depending on how gw1 goes with chelsea. Have Malouda alreadt.
If tevez goes Aguerro is a great pick for gw1.

I honestly think he'll be this season's Seamus Coleman!

He's started most pre season gmes including the Europa ties and in the last couple of games has been oop on the right wing.

At just £4.0 it's worth a punt me thinks.

There's been lots of Newcastle relegation chatter, tough times. Old Fatso selling his 3 best players of last season and replacing them with untested foreign players (apart from Ba) probably wasn't the wisest decision. It could go either way for me. If the new boys perform, you'll be fine. If they don't, trouble.

I feel Norwich wil surprise a few people. They have a lot of options in all areas of the pitch now and Lambert is class.

Newcastle looked terminal towards the end of last season. They've lost their three best players and replaced them with two punts and one decent striker who are all prone to injury. Pardew doesn't have a clue. He always gets found out by the end of the second season at a club, and as far as I can see I just don't see anything in their favour.

The squad is worrying enough but with Pardew in charge I feel almost certain of it. Worst manager in the league at the moment.

Newcastle and 2 of Blackburn, QPR, Swansea and Wigan IMO.

Norwich will just about stay up I reckon, Lambert is a class class manager. They now appear to have quite a solid squad too. Bolton and Wolves will be fine also I reckon.

It's exactly the kind of move everyone loves to hate on here.

But one must remember Yaya Toure. He's not exactly a defensive midfielder in the Barry mould is he, he has technical ability and can get box to box. Goals may not be his forte but I can envisage assists a plent.

He could be an interesting aquisition but not at the minute with those opening fixtures.

13.5m to spend on 3 defenders to rotate.

Doosra has a good strategy of rotating Fulham, Newcastle and Sunderland. They rotate very well.

So Hughes Simpson and Bramble works well.

Briggs, S Taylor and Bardsley could be another...I think thats 13.5m.

That Guardian exclusive was absolutely ridiculous. It's probably something similar like we might sign Wesley.

          Aguero trumps it.
It would be a good deal for United in that he would do a decent job for a season or so to give Cleverley etc time to develop, meaning they dont have to pay silly money for Wesley. Good deal for Barton too obv.

    Hello all,

First post for the season! Better late than never, been good catching up on what people have written here.

    So, two big questions,
    Tevez or Aguero?
    &
    Rooney or RVP?

I don't have the luxury of watching any preseason games, just going off reports, articles and posts.

It's hard picking a Chelsea player this year, just not sure what the rotations will be like...

Kompany seems to be a big pick this year too - have I missed something? Or is it just the favourable fixtures at the start of the season?

    Cheers,

Aguero and for me I'd go Rooney over RVP at first.

Kompany is now classified as a defender. So what, I hear you say? Well yes but he is also quite cheap at 6.0m. He will now get the benefit of clean sheet points, he's a definite starter and the most viable 'in' to the City defence with their strong opening fixtures.

        Ahhh, and the penny drops!

Thanks for the info, clearly I'm a tad out of touch.

It's hard picking someone like Aguero over Tevez after Tevez did so well for me last year, and if he did stay he'd be a tad happier playing with a fellow countryman which could only lead to better things right?

Aguero for now, see if Tevez stays/performs I guess...

Still tossing up between RVP and Rooney... I hold both with the same respects if anything RVP a tad more after Rooney burnt me early last year in FPL haha.

I am still buzzing from David Silva's performance yesterday against Inter. Sheer class, and a sublime pass for Dzeko's goal.

However, anyone else, like me, concerned that lack of goals may be a factor again for £9.5m?

I am concerned, when you think about it, Baines is 1.5 cheaper and is likely to assist and score just as many, plus he gets clean sheet points. Swansea at home, attacking City Coverage is a must but i have no idea who to get.

      This.

A defender can play poor and get a cleanie, a midfielder or striker can play poor but still fluke a goal or assist but you have to play well to earn baps (or it seems so this season) so that's what makes me reluctant at his high price.
