FPL Gameweek 6 Update

As many of you will have seen this morning, some of the bonus points from last weekend’s games have been altered in the Fantasy Premier League (FPL) game. The reason for this was that the Press Association tracking data crashed in the second half in the middle of Saturday’s games – as a result, that they have had to re-watch all of the matches that took place that day and subsequently adjust any affected fixtures.

Going on the spreadsheet I have in front of me, it appears the following games will be altered:

Fulham v Man City
John Arne Riise will now get the maximum bonus. Carlos Tevez keeps his two and David Silva receives one. Previously, Silva had three and Gael Clichy picked up one but Riise has now been attributed with 5 blocks, raising his PPI score significantly.

Stoke v Swansea
The only change here is that Jon Walters and Charlie Adam now pick up a single bonus point apiece instead of Asmir Begovic. Initially, Begovic had received bonus despite making just two saves – this has been rectified.

Sunderland v Wigan
James McClean no longer has bonus points in this one. Previously, the winger had been awarded two – this now goes to Stephane Sessegnon, who had received a single BP beforehand. As a result, Adam Johnson now gets the single bonus point.

The correct data was only forwarded to FPL this morning but the recalculations are now underway and we can hopefully expect autosubs to be sorted soon.

Gervinho is a real dilema isn’t he…

If it was anybody else, a 7.4 midfield player up top for a Top 4 club and having already scored 5 times this season, we’d all be going mad to get him in!

    Walcott and Giroud knocking on the door. Walcott has looked very good in his cameos, and might get his start soon. He tore Wham apart at Upton Park two seasons ago which is giving me a hunch he might start this one. I think Giroud will get a start too, with Podolski off the left. Gervinho's a great shout but I don't think he is the automatic starter that Cazorla and Podolski are so you will have to not mind (or have a strong enough bench) for the risk IMO.

      Gervinho's been playing CF though. With podolski playing mainly on the left and walcott on the right when he comes on, the only threat to his place at the moment is Giroud. I agree giroud will get a start soon, but gervinho no more of a rotation threat than aguero, tevez, etc, and much better value.

        Good point - although my feeling is that once Giroud starts (scoring!), I don't think Gervinho will get much of a look-in up front - whereas the City forwards will always be back the next game. I could be wrong, it's just a hunch - but that's the way I see it going. I certainly wouldn't advise against getting him in - he's a fantastic short to mid-term opportunity - just not a long-term one.

        Yeah, I feel he's worth the punt in the short term. If he loses his place there's plenty of options to bring in his place like pienaar, fellani, HBA.

      Good comments. Only my guess but I think he will start up top for as long as he keeps scoring. And at the moment he is on a good run.
      
      Worried short term Arsenal may rotate for the weekend (as will Man City) as both teams have Saturday fixtures just 2 full days after their CL match (and City have a 12.45pm start too)

Guys I am seriously in need of some help. Was top of my mini league for 3 weeks and now I'm dropping and hating my team. Lineup this week:

Schwarz (Jassk)
Jenk, Lescott, Baines (Mccartney, Tierney)
BArfa, Hazard, Michu, N. Dyer (Noble)
Tevez, RVP, Graham

I know I'm well too over exposed in Swansea and my 2 budget defenders aren't playing. So many transfers I need to make. Question is do I do one this week or save 2 for international?

  I don't think rooney will be back on pens and that's a weak argument to get a player in anyway. For me those transfers are really sideways. Keep RVP and look to get aguero in another way if you really want him.

- defence isn’t great but 2 big hitters and i’ll play a cheapie with them every week
- hazard and mata only in due to norwich, will downgrade hazard to possibly silva next week
- also michu stays for his 2 home games then he’s gone

so
1) begovic or foster (is foster worth the extra 0.7m)
2) fletcher/lambert or berbatov (lambert allows me to upgrade tevez to aguero)
3)any other major flaws

  i'd say foster is worth it, though i want to see if last weeks knocks have left a hole in wba defence or not
  and i like the lambert aguero route,
  i'd leave hazard alone this week if you're gonna get rid anyway. expensive for a couple of lampard penalties and no sure set RDM position for him.
