FPL Gameweek 6 Update

As many of you will have seen this morning, some of the bonus points from last weekend’s games have been altered in the Fantasy Premier League (FPL) game. The reason for this was that the Press Association tracking data crashed in the second half in the middle of Saturday’s games – as a result, that they have had to re-watch all of the matches that took place that day and subsequently adjust any affected fixtures.

Going on the spreadsheet I have in front of me, it appears the following games will be altered:

Fulham v Man City
John Arne Riise will now get the maximum bonus. Carlos Tevez keeps his two and David Silva receives one. Previously, Silva had three and Gael Clichy picked up one but Riise has now been attributed with 5 blocks, raising his PPI score significantly.

Stoke v Swansea
The only change here is that Jon Walters and Charlie Adam now pick up a single bonus point apiece instead of Asmir Begovic. Initially, Begovic had received bonus despite making just two saves – this has been rectified.

Sunderland v Wigan
James McClean no longer has bonus points in this one. Previously, the winger had been awarded two – this now goes to Stephane Sessegnon, who had received a single BP beforehand. As a result, Adam Johnson now gets the single bonus point.

The correct data was only forwarded to FPL this morning but the recalculations are now underway and we can hopefully expect autosubs to be sorted soon.

Just a heads-up, folks….

If Bale were to play 90 today and you didn't have him, would you bring him in? Would be for Pienaar (I already have Jelavic and Baines, as well as Defoe.)

Bale is their top player along with Defoe... he will be playing every game he can!

I know he'll be playing, but is it worthwhile to bring him in ahead of Pienaar. That United game had to be truly exhausting and if he plays again now I can see him being very worn down on Sunday.

Nahh there are good periods of time between the games, these are professional footballers and are expected to be on top physical fitness. He will put in a good shift and he is always a player that can provide. At home against Villa... much easier game too in my opinion.

As a Spurs fan with many years experience of Defoe, I think a lot of people will be shocked/burned on how quickly he could drop in favour of Ade after a bad game or two. No doubt he is playing well and pick up FPL points, but he is a streaky player and can be immensely frustrating when he's not scoring.

Getting slightly nervy about captaining Bale...Villa at home after a great away win has "back down to earth" written all over it.

Have Tevez, Demba and RVP to consider.

Don't know if any fellow Oirish watched the documentary on TG4 last night but it was class.

    Paddy "Don Patricio" O' Connell

Irish international, Utd captain, key player in"The Good Friday Controversy" of 1915 between Utd & Liverpool, led Betis to a league title, managed and saved Barca from extinction.

"What makes Barca great? It's not just Messi, Cruyff, Maradona but figures like Patrick O Connell"

Seriously, anyone with an interest in football history should try and track this down

Captain Lambert not getting much interest, Fulham have conceded 7 in 3 on the road, southampton scored 6 in 3 at home. Lambert involved in 50% of their goals = should score good points! I estimate 11

I a newcomer to FPL. Need help with a team of:

    Howard (Begovic)
A Cole, O'Shea, Evra (Mertesacker, Hangeland)
    Fellaini, Toure, Kagawa, Michu, Cazorla
    Tevez (Long, Graham)

Best 1 or 2 transfers for this week?? I'm thinking of losing Evra but don't know who to get

That's not a bad team as a starting point, I would say that the areas that most need attention are the following:

      1. Spend less on defenders, take out mertesacker and evra and get in 4-5m defenders to generate cash.
      2. after the next two weeks take out some if not all of your swansea coverage and spend the money made from the defence in attack and a mid price mid.

    Afternoon gents.
Could you please let me know what you think of these players' chances to do well this gameweek?
I am one gameweek before my WC, so need a one week punt. 1 FT, £0.2 in the bank.

    I have:
*Ben Arfa (MUN) - does well at home, I think United will concede. But there are better options around for this GW (Gervinho? Dembele/Lennon?).
*Hazard (NOR) - will probably do worse than Mata this GW but still has a nice upside. If I want Mata, it's Hazard who has to be shipped (I have 3 Chelsea and don't want to take a hit). Other option: Bale.
*Fletcher (mcy) - tough fixture, good form. Predicted points: 2 or 6+bonus. Other option: Lambert.

    The full front 7 is:
    Hazard Fellaini HBA Michu
    Tevez (c) Torres Fletcher

    Thanks for your opinions.

Kneejerking him out last week was fairly logical - Suarez, Jelavic and Fletch all had a decent fixture and should have returned more even if Tevez did start (which he did).

This week I'd definitely keep Tevez if I had him.

Who would you play out of these def

    A Rafael
    B Demel
    C Clyne

Have Barfa in midfield so was thinking if Newcastle score there’s Rafael Cs gone but on the other hand he could bag a goal himself ? Also have Fletcher on bench can't see him scoring against City.

Right... Thoughts on this WC team please, I've already taken the plunge, just fine-tuning:

    Vorm Beg
    Baines Gibbs Demel Clyne Nelsen
    Ramirez Mata Gervinho Bale Sterling
    RVP Ba Jelavic

Mainly worried about losing the value on Hazard to do this (had him from the start) but I think Mata is a solid long term option. Any glaring weaknesses? I'm also thinking I maybe want Berba over Ba if he's going to be fit?

Hey mate, I am also on a WC this week. I have the same attack and midfield expect Gervinho (I own Silva).
In defence, I have Olsson and Wisdom instead of Gibbs and Nelsen.

Nelsen is a no buy, QPR's defense is crap.
With the injury of Diaby, Arsenal's back 4 will suffer.

Consider Jussi or Begovic instead of Vorm

        Thanks!

Is Wisdom going to start consistently? I don't mind having a cheap no-buy who's probably not going to come into my team any time.

I think so since Kelly is injured for a long time and Jose Enrique seems to be out of favor and coming back from injury.
Rogers was impressed about Wisdom's first start last weekend. He likes to throw young talents in (ex Sterling) so Wisdom on short term is a good prospect with Liverpool nice fixtures. I will probably switch to Cuellar/Hughes if there is a problem later lol
