Gameweek 8 saw a handful of the key Fantasy targets produce some of their best performances of the season. Our members area is brimming with statistics to help piece together the story behind them but, as always, here’s our summary of just some of the figures that leap out.
Although Shalke is a tough match between now and then. But yeah, I agree - seeing as bought Giroud I'm chasing my losses and throwing him the armband again. :S
Open ControlsYeah the mid-week game always throws a spanner in the plan
Open Controls
Alright lads, time I go, good night everyone, good luck with those plans in your heads. 😉
Open ControlsHas The Walking Dead Season 3 episode 2 been aired yet?
Open ControlsI sold Pienaar for Taarabt got 1.1 million in bank now and rubbish gameweek only 59 points i was ecpecting much more ... thinking of selling aguero too unreliable and could improve squad with better players what do u think ?
Open ControlsHow is the best newcastle defender for the next gws?
Open Controlss taylor
Open ControlsHe's doing great, thanks.
But seriously: Coloccini.Open ControlsI like Santon. But whenever one of Cabaye or Tiote are out Newcastle tend to wobble. Anita's a decent replacement though I suppose.
Open ControlsTaylor is fine thanks.. nice warm up today, back fully next week
Open Controls
Thoughts on these moves?
Rafael + Pienaar > Simpson and Mata (-4)Open ControlsA back 3 of baines/gjohnson/riise really would be brimming with attacking potential without ruining the affordability balance elsewhere... Would take weeks to engineer without points hits though unfortunately
Open ControlsI have Ivan, Baines, Rafael and Kolarov. I should have got more than 4 pts from the lot of them. Beware
Open Controls
2 baps, says it all
Open ControlsMy mini league leader got two points less than me this week, so I am still holding strong.
Open Controls
Tevez has only drawn blank in one GW. Topping the forwards. I didn't even realize. He really is quietly ticking along even though he's not fully in form yet.
Open ControlsI've got no idea why so many people have sold. The lad's a machine, will hardly ever be benched to 'rest' him cos he never needs rest.
He'll get benched now and then to give the others a chance, but not for fitness reasons.Open ControlsLooks like he'll be rested for CL games rather then Prem games. If he doesn't start against Ajax, i may well bring him in.
Open Controls
Mata/Martinunreal..
You have a lot to say, and tbf, more often than not your advice is good.... so why is your history/rank so poor? Do you not heed your own advice? 😕Open ControlsSame as me. (cough)
He ignores his advice and has more fun getting players like Dzeko inOpen ControlsSo you're going to have Kolarov and Dzeko? Lovely :grin
Could actually get a monster score this week if they don't start in the CL.Open ControlsBut Torres to Dzeko feels to kneejerking. Not the getting in Dzeko bit, but the getting rid of Torres. If I could do Puncheon to Mata at the same time it would have already been done, but I cant.
Open Controls
Amen brother 😀
Open Controls
ooo the hard questions. He probably ask himself that looking in the mirror every morning..
Open ControlsHaha!
Open Controls
First season I didn't play FPL...it automatically selected a team and I didn't return to it.
If you notice...my history skips a year.
Last year is the only time I've taken it seriously and I enjoyed it so much I got addicted.Open Controls
Loving Llalana's goal. nice swivel
Open ControlsWas great wasn't it. He actually has a decent pedigree for goals...maybe he can improve his game and start getting more.
Open Controls
2 FTs
Fabio, Federici, Gunter, Kacka - all need to go.
Might go:
Federici > Begovic
Fabio > Wilson
Double down on Stoke?
Pienaar still leaves me hoping Kackaniklic gets a start (looking unlikely)
But
Kackaniklic > Noble is the only thing that's on and doesn't seem worth a hit.
Might hang tight on Kacka - he did have a blinder for Sweden, and has got minutes away from home this season. And they looked kind of flat without him and Duff.Open ControlsAnyone have their doubts about Bale? I've not had him this year because of something in the back of my mind that tells me I'd be tempted to captain him too often and fail. Picking up on Giggs boson's point about Spurs having so many to get into the action...I actually think this will likely lead to Bale being less essential than he looks.
You have Dempsey/Siggy/Defoe/Adebayor/Lennon/Vertonghen. All look like they could be the ones to get goals each week. And before you say well Siggy/Demps/Ade have done nothing yet...that's exactly what makes me skeptical. I feel the points will be spread out a lot over the course of the season. Bale doesn't seem to me to be as focal as a player like Mata or Caz. If their team does well, they usually do well...if you get what I mean.
Bale is going to get some great points hauls I've no doubt but I'm a little wary of considering him the bee's knees with so many others in that team capable of big hauls potentially.Open ControlsSee what you're saying, but surely Mata is in a very similar situation to Bale - Hazard, Oscar, Lamps, er, Torres there ready to steal his points.
Open ControlsI just think Mata is inherently a creative midfielder and a playmaker...he makes everything...his assists are so deliberate...whereas Bales are mostly smashed shots that rebound for Defoe to tap in...if you get me. I think if Chelsea score goals Mata will be involved so often.
Open Controls
Mata as a focal player? Thats BS, he is just outshining the other three at the moment.
And as for Caz, on paper Arsenal have so many potential goal scorers.
Please return with a well thought out point.Open ControlsGotta keep him for the Southampton and Wigan combo.
Open ControlsIf Bale isn't scoring, more often then not, he'll be the one assisting.
Open ControlsSo true, Spurs play is focused down the wings. So realistically one of Bale or Lennon should be involved in every goal.
Open ControlsYes this would be true if they were equally good at attacking.
Bale is much, much more effective at beating a man and getting a cross in and much better at getting a thunderous shot off.Open ControlsBut their deference in attacking ability is matched by their respective prices.
Open Controls
Na. If Spurs scoe gaols Bale will get points most the time. With at least as much involvement as Mata does.
Hazard/Oscar/Mata will go through hot and cold spells Bale's a class above FPLwise for Spurs.Open ControlsCazorla and Bale will just sit in my team long term. They'll be weeks where they explode at the likes of Stamford and the Etihad and weeks where their respective teams score 6 and they don't even get a clean sheet point.
I just hope they don't do a Nani of last year who's FPL behaviour bordered on ridiculous and cost me several transfers.Open Controls+ 1
Similiar
I have my 5 mids
Bale Caz Hazard Michu and Nolan
plan is play 3 big hitters every week and rotate nolan and michu each week
no point swapping consistency will winOpen Controls
So time to get rid of Nathan Dyer I guess?
Open ControlsFoster, Begovic
Baines, Rafael, Boyce, McAuley, Gorkss
Bale, Cazorla, Mata, Kightly, Sterling
RVP, Jelavic, Lambert
You know you love it.Open ControlsLooks nice. Are you sticking with that forward line? I have the same 3 and I'm looking at moving on Lambert.
Open ControlsSouthampton have great fixtures so I'm sticking for now. Will be raising some money from defence soon which will give me an escape route if necessary.
Open Controls
Pienaar to the Hatem bomb a good move...or play/upgrade Gurthrie (1.2m in bank) and keep Pienaar on the bench?
Open Controls@ Martinunreal
Someone in my league thought of him too, just a gwk b4!
http://fantasy.premierleague.com/entry/21736/event-history/8/Open ControlsDzeko saved his GW... 😀 Very nice
Open Controls
For those planning to captain Caz, i'd be wary of QPR, i think they're stronger than people realise!
Open ControlsQPR are the most annoying team for playing well when you expect them to lose comfortably. Don't they understand we need them to get hammered for FPL purposes?
Open Controls
Would like some opinions on these moves:
Suarez, Lambert and Michu -> Berbatov, Crouch and HBA (that's -4)
also considering taking -4 points more to do Kacaniklic -> Sterling .
I'm concerned with Kaca not getting gametime especially with my midfield losing Pienaar for the next week and the defence needing time to be sorted out, Sterling even if I put him on the bench will at least go up in value and the sooner I grab him the better after this weeks performance.
Question is is this additional move worth the hit?Open ControlsI have similar concerns about Kackaniklic. Based on nothing I have a hunch he'll start at Reading. He gets through lots of running, and more of his mins have come away from home so far (albeit still not loads). Plus they were flat v Villa. Think one if not both of him and Duff will come in.
But - I agree, it's hard having to worry about it. Maybe best just to get shot. But I think I might leave it one more week to do it for free personally.Open Controls
What are folk on here doing with Michu? Stick or twist?
Open ControlsKeep him, he is OOP and will get close to 15 goals this season.
Open Controls
2FT's
Should I improve defence, Baines, Demel, Clyne, Hangeland & Nelsen
or
improve front 8, Michu, HBA, Hazard, Fellaini, Nolan, RVP, Crouch & Tevez
Any ideas, thanks in advance.Open ControlsAny precedent for a goalkeeper with an assist and an own goal?
Must be as rare as hell.Open ControlsBale's bird has jsut had a baby - it is proven that the man's hormone levels get skewed after birth so that they are more caring i.e. less testerone or whatever. Bale won;t be up for it away from home.
Santi on the other hand, will be at home and eveything goes through him and QPR can't keep a clean sheetOpen Controlsreally like my atacking 8
Mata , Michu , Bale , Cazorla , Guthrie
RVP , Ba , JelavicOpen ControlsDoes anyone think Dzeko is worth getting? How would you rate him as Man City cover?
Open ControlsSo what are the best prospects for the coming gws.. I am on my wc and would line to make the best of it;)
Looking at city, arsenal, stoke, newcastle, tot... Great fixtures and players in form...Open ControlsI think I pay too much attention to fixtures. Like now for example I'm totally blinkered on Stoke. Need to look at the bigger picture

Wenger has got to be looking for a reaction vs QPR. could be a bloodbath if they go up early on
